President informed that Obamacare may not be affordable

Obama's health care advisor Jonathan Gruber has admitted that the Affordable Care Act may not be able to cover all U.S. citizens health care at an affordable cost. He is now recommending that the ACA only cover basic levels of care, and that if anyone desires expensive surgery they will have to pay out of pocket.

This means that instead of removing the mandate, and allowing citizens the choice to either purchase comprehensive care from insurance companies or pay their own way, we will instead all be forced to pay for our most expensive treatments and also pay for basic insurance coverage.

My fellow Americans, welcome to socialized medicine.

If this is true, he has some explaining to do to the American people.
This was supposed to save us money. $2500 per family if I recall correctly.
He either lied or was stupid enough to believe his own propaganda.

They had to ram it through before people looked to deeply, the problem with pushing it through so fast was they couldn't do the research to make sure of their claim.

So to make sure something got passed they could not do their due dillagence.

IMO making insurance mandatory will only increase the cost of care - just look at car insurance. The only way to reduce the cost of health insurance is to make it completely optional. If the companies know they might lose you as a customer at any time they will do everything they can to increase their coverage and lower their bottom line. That drive to lower the price point isn't there if insurance is mandatory and they know everyone will have to buy their crap anyway.

You can't tell people they will all save money and simultaneously issue a mandate requiring everyone to pay for that same thing. This whole thing was flawed from day one.

The aca isn't even close to socialized health care.

It was a bust and probably ruined any chance of the US actually going to socialized anything.

Exactly. This is why the insurance companies was pushing for the ACA to go through because the individual mandate gave them a license to steal. This is why so many peoples policies were canceled so that when people started a new policy they could jack up the rates.

I urge you to seek a broader definition of "socialized medicine" than Fux News. You are choosing ignorance and that is the nicest way to say it.

Instead of coming here with that garbage, why don't you do some actual research on examples of socialist systems of Europe. Report back quickly how awful the people in those countries think it is. Then compare the ACA with actual systems in socialist countries and report back quickly about how similar they are.

You left out part of the quote. This is the full quote. "But we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy." Also seeing how the ACA was debated on for over a year before it passed we already knew what was in it.

This was warned about way ahead of time by ALOT of people, but was ignored because, well, Gruber says it best;

No because it was supposed to SCREW us...he wasn't kidding about taxpayers being stupid. My premiums just went up 18% this year. Gruber was telling the truth. They make sh$t complicated like every good scam artist, keeping you distracted with Football and bullsh$t, working your a$$ off so that you have no time to sit and think about your situation, how they are ripping you off, sucking the life out of you. When a medical system is for profit ..well just get the concept of affordable right out of the way..it isn't.

So which was it, either they all knew what was in it but the methodology used to reach their conclusions was horribly flawed.

Or they really weren't sure what was in because so many different groups had their fingers in the pie and nobody could keep up with the changes.

Cause it seems like they have been surprised about every problem that has occurred every year since the bill has passed.
