Yeah, you read the title! That's right, I is now a racist so I is.

Alright, kinda misleading title, I suppose what qualifies as racism is as subjective as what qualifies as sci-fi or anime, I dunno. Couldn't think of a good analogy...they'll do - unless it come across as discriminatory against klingons or pokemon...are pokemon anime? Ooooh, touchy subject, let's move on.

Yeah, I'm racist now, you see. I was never intentional, I never set out on some contrived mission to become a racist, in fact the transition was so seamless and transparent I never knew I was one until earlier.

I was in work, there's a guy...he's, how shall I put this...not white *checks under feet for broken eggshells...* yeeeeay, he's a "not white" guy who's bald.

Alright, let me explain - something happened in work, it's irrelevant what that something was, it was mundane, every day work related stuff...someone asked me a question about this irrelevant thing and my answer referred said asker of mundane question to another member of staff, the afore-mentioned "not white" guy who is also bald.

In other words, someone asked me a question, and to answer I had to mention another member of staff...the member of staff asking the question knew not of the member of staff I mentioned in the answer, I attempted to describe this member of staff to the first member of staff in order to clarify some mundane stuff that's irrelevant. Y'all still with me? This is where I delve deep into the...i was gonna say dark abyss but that's borderline...this is where I became a RAAAACISSST! Yeah!

Silly me...why did I have to say ..."he's the black guy, bald...works in such and such a department"? I'll tell you why, because I don't think it's racist, that's why! Why is it wrong to say this? I got some heavy bad looks, people were uncomfortable because I tried to describe an individual accurately? I said he was a black guy because, well...he's a black guy.

But awkward silences and evil eyes weren't enough, not for the crimes I'd committed. So out steps she-hero...naturally she's white as she's a hero...and puts me firmly in my place. You can't say that, you're disgusting! Rapturous applause and a few cheers later I was no longer white, but beaming red and somewhat sheepish...you even think back and say to yourself..."I wish I could go back in time and react differently...retrospect rocks!". I hate that, why'd I sit there like a twerp, all red with an "oops, I made a boo-boo" village idiot face on me? I wanna go back and read this rant to them...confuse them, probably make them hate me more.

I dunno what else to say, perhaps in future I'll just make up a person...he's the rainbow coloured dude who sort of glitters...like a mylar balloon, yeah...with snakes on his head instead of hair.

What's the world coming to? Why are people so touchy, and stupid...and...and stupid?

I thought about it later, having made what were, at the time, sincere apologies. I thought...why'd I apologise like I'd acknowledged I'd made some terrible faux pas?

I didn't do anything wrong...why are we so terrified to say what colour someone is? But we do it with everything, not just colour, he's a tall guy, she's blonde.

I've seen a few threads on here recently - there's only a problem with colour if you make one. I never make a distinction on any other level other than the visual...to me a persons skin colour is as relevant as their hair or eye colour...and no, I don't have a problem with ginger people nor do I believe all blondes are dumb...because I am blonde...and male...and racist. It's the folk who claim every wrong done to them is racially motivated that make the distinction. Some bad stuff happened to you most likely because the law of averages dictates that in your relatively lengthy lifetimes something bad will probably happen to you...probably lot's of bad things. I didn't get harassed by the cops because I'm such and such a colour, I got harassed by them because they're dicks who like to harass folk at random. Maybe my appearance had something to do with it, but what about the cops who chose to stop someone other than me?

I never got beat up because I were chinese, them lads just singled me out because I was a vulnerable and easy target...they did it because they were dicks who like bullying people. The fact that they did it to me, a chinaman, and said racially motivated things to me while they did it were simply a consequence of circumstance...bullies tend to find the things that push your buttons, if you're fat they'll call you fatty. I don't think they single out a type for the most part.

The point is racism is being perpetuated not by racists but by folks who for whatever reason have insecurities about who and what they are. I'm short and blonde, bad things never happened to me because of that and ?I never actually considered it an option, blaming all my problems on these characteristics. Racism will go away if people move on, but even when you try to it comes looking for you. I've never been racist, I don't think mentioning a persons skin tone or nationality makes you so, but for some reason people do it seems...why? Where does it end? Maybe colour blindness is evolution in progress, in a few million years we won't be able to see our differences, everyone will appear the same or something, wouldn't that be fun. We'd all be short and fat, and most likely white.

I don't think racism is the root cause of racial issues...I reckon it's people's perceptions - you only did that to me becaume I'm bl...not white!

Made fun of me because I was short, heightist!

Where does it end?

This isn't even a coherent rant!

Fed up with it. I once got chastised for referring to a pakistani as a paki...shortening the name of a country is a derogatory term? We ought to stop being so bloody offended. I'm scottish, was never offended by scot or even jock. In fact, I quite like being referred to as a scot, it's a cool word - it's ptactically a guy's name with a 't' missing from the end.

You can't say paki? Why not? Can't even mention a particular colour then what chance have you got?

Is anyone actually reading this? I applaud you, are you racist like me?

Is this still earth?

What was the black, bald guy's reaction?

I've learned to never describe the physical characteristics of anyone when asked. Like, never say the heavy lady, or the guy with the bad rug, or the bangin chic.....

I learned to say stuff like the guy in the jaunty plaid jacket, or second desk to the right, by the water cooler, the lady in the yellow dress....

Some lessons are learned hard.

It's usually the people that are worried about what people think of them, that cause the biggest uproar about descriptions of people being not politically correct. I don't care if anyone describes me as "that white guy". Meh. People are too sissy nowadays.

In this era of overly sensitive, politically correct, scapegoat seeking, finger pointing folk, nothing you can say will get you out of this. If you try to explain, you'll just dig yourself deeper. My usual reaction to people like that? Go peddle your white guilt to someone who cares. I know I'm not a racist and honestly don't care what others have to say about it. Little Miss She Hero needs to be told to STFU and mind her own business.

If you're doing that because it's easier or works better for you, well, more power to you. Personally, screw it. If I want to say that bald black guy over there, that white guy with the girly perm, that old lady with the blue hair or whatever, I will. Political correctness sucks the big kahuna. People need to stop being offended over nothing and I am not going to change myself for a bunch of whiny ass biatches!

Cheers - Dave

Report her for calling you a racist. Explain to your manager at work that you are deeply offended that Princess Political Correct has labeled you as a racist, and that you now need some time off due to the stress of being harassed at work. Then go to the pub.

If it were me i would say, I'm not racist. If i were sneaking around his house at night do you think the police description would be. * I saw a man 5-6ft man. he had a slight twich in his right hand and i believe his name starts with a G*

NO he would be like * I Saw a 5-6 foot white dude hovering over my bed*. Now if he gives an accurate description of a hypothetical situation where im creeping on him does that make him a racist for labeling me white?

NO im not gunna sneak into his room. you know what, Drop it. Because if you can't understand something as easy as that then you shouldn't be calling shame on people just because you are emotionally hurt.

That would be my speech lol. Within a 30 second window.

No it won't because racist people will still say & do racist things.

You can't say pa#i? Why not?

Because it's a racial slur.

Pakistani is the correct term.

Other than those two hiccups it was a decent rant...

Doesn't sound like you did anything wrong.

Some people just like to play the high & mighty, holier than thou, hero/heroine...

I'd have told her to # off.

He wasn't there...I never even thought about it until you mentioned it...he's a big guy, I want to swear right now but the last thing I need is to be scolded by the mods!

Part of me thinks, he'll probably be quite chilled and find it funny...then there's that other part of me telling me...you're an idiot, he's gonna snap you.

And...now, there's this creeping part of me that's saying...you only think he'll beat you because he's black...it's TREUUUUEEEEE!

I don't think I can dig myself out of this, perhaps I should show him this thread.

Flippant, verbose and encrusted with vulnerable stupidity.

I don't know what kind of crusade my she-hero was on, she was always kind of wisened and motherly until earlier, now she's proper mean and now when I look at her for some reason she reminds me of sideshow bob from the simpsons.

Her eyes look different, she was always quite an assertive type, but now she's kinda sinister to me. She has nothing invested in such an attack on me and I don't think the comments I made that led up to this altercation are the root cause of the outburst.

There's more to it, just don't sit right but I'm proper pee'd off by it and had to let rip. I shall let it fester for a bit and see what pungent odors develop if any and take it from there.

That's why I asked "What was the black, bald guys' reaction?".

Some people's jobs depend on political correctness, especially those in the for profit "servicing the public sector", sector.

Thats retarded.

I cant imagine describing people and walking on egg shells. I use the word "black" when talking to black people about other black people. I use white, or Asian or what ever....

I had someone put up a stink once in suburbia and I had to get into Bronx bull mode on them real quick. I asked them what the hell their problem was with race. I flipped it and made them seem like closet racists for being so absurd about other races. I told them they have no idea what issues black people have if they think using the wrong pronoun is what upsets them. I was right too. They would rather not be treated differently AT ALL...not MORE or LESS nice. Just be normal.

Hyper sensitive race idiots actually offend blacks more by thinking they understand what its like to be black and thinking that their issue is with using the right pronouns when talking about them.

I grew up in NYC and worked in minority neighborhoods my whole life. I cant imagine being this retarded. In spanish communities we call some guys BLACK. we say "Hey "black" (Negro), you eat lunch yet? Hey "dark skinned" (moreno) you going for drinks today after work?" Its not even racist. I get called "whitey" in Mexico (guero) and its not offensive. Its just a quick reference to who they are directing their words to. I had a guy get his bag stolen next to me catching a bus in the airport in Mexico city. The guy told the cop that the person who took it was white like me (points at me). The cop clarified and said white like that light skinned person over there (points) or like him (points at me). How the hell was the guy supposed to give a description of who took his bag if he didnt just say A WHITE GUY.

I poop on race issues. Its retarded.

Every black friend I have, (and yes I know, very cliche of me to say,I know,) everyone would not be my friend if I was so damn offensive as to treat them differently than I would my other race friends. I can AND DO talk to them like I do everyone of my white friends. I make no apologies as far as my more radical views on minorities and I dont mince words when describing the African american version of white trash. THAT is respecting someone. Being who you are to them and not making them feel different due to their race.

People who are advocates of race issues are usually pretty damn racist in practice.

So OP, what ever. Powerhouse through the BS. Idiots will be themselves. You be you.

I would ask the people who were offended:
are you offended because the fellow I described is bald and black? or are you offended because I described him as being bald and black?

your description wasn`t incorrect so they shouldn`t be offended by your description.

I think some people try too hard to prove they aren`t racist and they end up looking foolish.

I tell people im not gunna spend 5 minute trying to describe someones wardrobe.

It was a slender tall bald man wearing the george mens 2013 line, Blue white and black with a gold lace trim. His shoes are air jordans. And he wears a gold wrist watch. Have you seen this guy around the company?

Or would you be like * How many bald black people do you know in the company?* *I don't know his name, so im trying to make this descrition shorter than a rant*

BTW OP this whole conversation is hilarious.

Because it's a racial slur. Pakistani is the correct term.

So does that line of thinking also include the ever popular British slang "Yank" as well? I certainly see that one bandied about quite often enough.

Or how about canuck, for all our Canadian friends?

How is paki a racial slur? Its just Pakistani but sans the stan.

Curious.

You might be right...it's still only a problem if you make it one though.

I mean if someone smacks you about the head for being a certainc olour then yeah, that's proper racism right there.

But if someone makes a racist statement then I've made an amazing discovery...you can actually disregard it.

Ok, I haven't actually tried and tested this on black people because I'm white and scared to ask black people to partake in what might, to some...seem like a racist experiment...but as a short, blonde person I have confirmed that this technique can be employed successfully.

I know it's hard, but there literally is only a problem if you make it one. We had a ginger lad in school...who didn't? We had several, this is scotland. Some of them got taunted more than others because they reacted better. I was there, some didn't get taunted at all because they were like..so?

I'm like...so? When people call me shorty, or assume I'm mentally challenged because of my hair colour. When you look at it, it doesn't matter who the victim is, sure there are racist groups who specifically rarget minorities, etc. There are also groups who attack obese people, calling them horrible things. There are groups who target homosexuals, there are groups like westboro who target anyone who isn't westboro.

Racism is an issue a lot of the time (not all of the time) because it pushes buttons. I still hear people talk about slavery, sure it was terrible. Apparently only a certain race were ever slaves...we we all slaves at one point, all oppressed at one point.

By this logic we should all hate one another and fight among each other all time the because of what happened in the past...which explains quite a lot, actually.

How can you integrate and become one with groups who willingly separate themselves from the whole by referring to themselves as a separate group? We ****** people need representation! We this need a that! You did this to us and so on.

You keep getting offended because someone said a stupid comment about the colour of your skin. I mean, come on. Like two kids arguing over who's wearing the prettiest sweater - mines better because it's blue...and blue's the best colour! Well mines better, cos mine's is red, and red is the prettiest colour! Then mother comes in all stern...you two better stop fighting or you'll be grounded...both jumpers cos the same and came fromt he same store.

Kids get over it, eat dinner, play...sleep - the end.
