Police officers turned their backs on Mayor Bill de Blasio as he walked into the police press conference about the two NYPD officers shot and killed execution-style in Brooklyn.

pix11.com...

Saw that...

The Mayor has lost the ability to lead.

This man is a disgrace...The PBA Spokesman said the blood is on City Hall.

This is and avoidable tragedy. The weak minded killer ###Brown,###Gardner on Facebook.

I am calling for the Mayor to resign...Who am I you might ask....

I'm the guy asking this race baiting no good POS to resign. #byebyebill

This country needs a freaking "reset", this is getting effed up... I know many people believe we live in some police state (which I don't agree with), but these cops are on our side, they are here to protect us, turning on them is not the answer...

I understand there are a few bad cops, just like there are a few bad people in EVERY industry today (from pro athletes, to doctors, to accountants, fireman, teachers, priests, etc.), but I won't judge or rip down all police like so many want to do based off a "few" bad apples... Do I judge all black people based off what this 28 year old man did? Of course not, he is one man, he acted alone and he doesn't represent all black people, just like how a couple bad cops here and there don't represent all cops...

This story is shameful.. These cops did not deserve to die... I can't help but feel horrible for their families, friends, and everyone they touched... I hope they can find some sort of peace around the holidays...

I really am getting sick of this country... Everything is backwards... We protest and riot over a thug getting killed, but barely anyone blinks an eye when two cops are shot dead sitting in their cars...

Trying to figure out why cops turned their backs on the mayor and wtf is a 'wartime police department'?

Sources told the Post the union is angry that the mayor did not show more support for the NYPD after a grand jury decided not to indict the officer involved in the death of Staten Islander Eric Garner.

In a press conference about the grand jury’s decision not to charge the officer, de Blasio announced that he had warned his 17-year-old, mixed-race son, Dante, to be careful around police officers, which caused PBA President Patrick Lynch to claim de Blasio had thrown NYPD officers “under the bus.”

That's one of the reasons why. fyi

For what it's worth, there are many NYers who think DeBlasio is in over his head and fanning the flames of racism and there are many members of the NYPD who think Pat Lynch is a self serving ahole.

The cold-blooded cop-hater who gunned down two police officers in Brooklyn on Saturday is suspected of being a member of a notorious prison gang that has declared open season on the NYPD.

Detectives were headed to Baltimore on Saturday night to probe Ismaaiyl Brinsley’s ties to the Black Guerrilla Family, sources told the Daily News.

As the Daily News reported on Dec. 6, an undercover NYPD cop learned of a Black Guerrilla Family plot to kill NYPD officers on Dec. 5 — three days after a Staten Island grand jury decided not to indict Officer Daniel Pantaleo in Garner’s chokehold death in July. At least ten BGF members were “preparing to shoot on duty police officers,” Sergeants Benevolent Association President Ed Mullins said at the time.

The threat prompted police union leaders to advise NYPD officers to take extra precautions, including carrying additional ammunition and wearing bullet-proof vests at all times.

But the NYPD investigated the intelligence and later deemed, as The News reported on Dec. 7, that there was no "credible threat" posed by the BGF. “We are aware of the reports of this anonymous general threat against police. However, at this time there is no information to indicate that this is a credible threat against the NYPD,” an NYPD spokesman said at the time. Daily News

There's that "no credible threat" thing again.

I keep hearing people (in general, not just ATS) using terms like "holding police to a higher standard".... I understand that, but why can't we think bigger? Why can't we hold "Humanity" to a higher standard?

We all understand right from wrong, good from bad, etc... Acting like decent human beings SHOULD NOT BE THIS TOUGH...

Yes...Unbelievable, they are more angry than I have ever seen.

Just a week ago Al Sharpton started that "what do we want....Dead Cops"

And "when do we want it....Now". I think he incited this in Brooklyn.

He should be locked up...While you got him prosecute him for his $4.5 million tax bill.

A low-life, hate-peddling, mob-enabling POS is what Sharpton is.

This is bad.
All this type of thing can accomplish is an increase in the power of the police state.
:I agree here, it seems TPTP are getting close to gun confiscations being completely legal. Dark times indeed.

A statement from the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association said: '....we have, for the first time in a number of years, become a "wartime" police department. We will act accordingly.'

Talk about inflammatory language! Uh... who are they making war against?

Imagine what would happen if the police didn't show up to work, talk about shutting a city down.

Since America’s leaders have given the cops no support, I suggest all policemen go on strike for a month.

Because he asked if his biracial son would be safe from NYPD? He's defended everything else including stop and frisk, broken windows policing and the choke hold on Eric Gardner. Now he's race-baiting and the NYPD is justified in trying to control the city against the will of the people that elected deBlasio?

Look, personally I think the guy is a tool. He's betrayed the electorate that elected him... so let them recall him, not the fking police department. We're already in goddamned police state why the hell would we encourage this?

Considering the coward is dead, that's a damn good question.
