Same with a few other topics.

Consistency is always a challenge, especially given the volume of activity we see. We catch the T&C violations we can, and some stuff slips through.

Then you have a lot of subjective input and things aren't always that cut and dried. It's an all-volunteer staff and we do out best, which admittedly falls way short of perfection.

Cheers back.

I'm honestly surprised that this site has not been crippled yet. It was only a matter of time that someone, somewhere with legitimate credentials spilled something serious in a thread. I'm assuming you and your team have browsed through popular threads in and around the time of the attack; care to share what they were?

I've been on here for quite a while and wish you guys the best; we are behind you.

But I did wonder about the names/titles next to the monetary donation amount?

It's just for pure fun. I had to put some label there… so I got creative.

Ah right... cool.

I'll give you $10.00 on 31.12.2014 when I get paid.

Well this adds new meaning to the near cryptic simplicity of Google's motto "don't be evil."
They dropped that slogan, so now they can be evil if they want, and it seems like they are being pretty unreasonable about dropping adsense for picky violations. I don't really get their motivation for doing this however.

Google [GOOG] has quietly dropped its "Don't be evil" motto as part of a broad strategy to refresh its image.

Now Now, come on folks.

Let us not discourage a little pride that you supported this wonderful community.

I've fairly mum over the last few days. Primarily cause I've been really afraid of what was going to happen next.

Now I'm hopefull. This place had been a home to me a long time..

It has been for you too. Some people are gonna wanna say they sent their little bit of faith.

Let us all eat cake IMO as we come together to make sure this place stays as we like it.

I was going to donate $10 even though I can't really afford it but then I saw doing so defines me as a "Junior Conspirator." I think of myself as a "Conspiracy Theorist," at least.

OK cool.... let's give everyone a custom title then while we're at it.
Maybe a new, spangly border and....and...

Isn't it enough knowing you've done it?

Kids nowadays huh?

i always kinda wondered if the attacks were precipitated by someone saying something they shouldn't have, or if it was just regular asshat script kiddies

though, i suppose, if someone had said something serious, and certain parties wanted to scrub ATS from existence, the site owners would all be face down in a ditch somewhere, and the servers would be on fire....

i mean, honestly, of all the sites to attack, why ATS? it's not even really a site...it's a forum..where people talk about reptilian aliens, obama being kenyan, and his wife being a dude.....it hardly seems like the kind of place that would be a likely target for a coordinated attack....you'd think they'd go after something substantial, like military networks, media outlets, or even social media platforms....

-shrug- meh..

Aye, I feel like a censorship magnet.
Wherever I go, all the sites and groups get problems. No matter if it's the cia, fbi, trained media zombies sent onto a site, attacks on the site owners, simply the domain being stripped, the servers raided, the site bought, the home stormed by the police, the owner murdered or suicided, a letter from google to remove content to stay findable...
DDoS wasn't rare either, but never a permanent problem. However, it usually announced something bigger.
Even my computer programs were bought by spying companies, so I have to stay on very old versions.
Literally 70-90% of the YouTube videos and websites I added 2 years ago have been removed for different excuses.
Even if its a state supporting website with information exchange.. once I spread a visibly aware behavior to a site it gets attacked after it had no problems for many years.

News platforms aren't really what I aim for seeing these ATS news just mainly copying the TV.

I would like to donate to keep up uncensored information exchange here, but I have 2 concerns - anonymity and an official document to give to the state, so that the donation is tax free in certain countries - if they admit it as of use to the "community".

well, we can always appreciate enthusiasm, right?

I have seen some of the most insightful posts over the last couple of days, and they were made about something that is wholly relevant to each of us.

More than ever, I am certain that ATS is special. It is a special place.

Well its not the Salvation army, where the CEO Basset makes $175,000 a year and average salary for management is $50,000.
We've just all been brain washed to expect a red bucket.

You're out of order there. If someone chooses to donate and post about it, it's up to them. Calling them 'needy and lame' is unnecessary and just wrong.

Why set out to make them feel like crap?

You're someone I usually hold in high esteem and that comment was beneath you.
