Somewhere back there he explains that the threads in question were pretty close to violating some t&c's and should proberbly have been pulled regardless.

ATS needs financial help with all the advertising on its website????? The money being generated from this over the top advertising is big money...... and don't let anyone here at ATS try to convince otherwise.

I have my own server and have been under the same type of attacks and I don't need money from strangers to keep my server online and from being secured from online attacks.

I suggest ATS make cutbacks in their spending. Everyone has to tighten their belts these days and I don't see why ATS can not do the same.

Is there any way to donate without setting up a paypal? I don't have paypal and don't care to set one up, but would like to help out. If a mod wants to send me a u2u with info on it, I'll happily throw some dolla-dolla bills down

You can do a one time payment on paypal without an account through the link.

Can you give us an indication of how much you're looking for, what the cost of the 'new system' will be etc.
There are a hell of a lot of adverts on this site and its odd that the site cannot sustain itself.
I'm trying to get my head around all of this and the paranoid, question everything side of me is, um, questioning this a little bit.

I'm not saying I actually think this is what you're doing so please don't think I am, but it would be fairly easy to invent a problem, tell the membership base that you need donations, don't say how much and not offer shares or some kind of investment and then sit back and watch the cash roll in.

The stuff about ad revenue and having a million unique hit etc is one thing but it really doesn't matter how many people visit your site, view your site etc - these folks will not keep you afloat.
You have a core membership of a few hundred members tho make this site what it is, shape it, create content and keep the other faceless masses coming back.
So these few hundred people who all may donate ten bucks, is this really going to be enough?
It seems to me with the Facebook stuff, the NLBS stuff and changing the direction and identity of the site that the focus is constantly on attracting new members and new unique clicks etc.
Are these new people going to save, donate and keep this site afloat?

Does PayPal accept those Visa cards that one applies money to?
Just wondering, as I am "cash only" as well, but could head to a store and pick up one of those cards if they work through PayPal....

Wait, What? You're a police officer, but you don't want to go with the system? What's wrong with PayPal? I have two (2) online shops, one with EBay, which is Pal Pal only, and one with ETSY! You wouldn't shop one line? Oh well, that's okay. I sell enough to keep me busy.

If your prepaid card is a visa or master card you should be fine. I do a prepaid for online stuff as well I call it my get hacked get mugged card I keep around $50 on it all the tim. That way if I go out its the card I flash and makes people think you have little to know money. And if I get jacked up on the street or online no ties to my real bank.

I don't have any credit or debit cards, I don't even have a 'current account', just a building society savings account. I am a thorn in my local council's side paying my council tax direct into the council's bank account, in cash, at their account holding branch. I have never bought anything online, I pay everything in cash, and being self employed if a customer pays me in a bank transfer then I take the cash out as soon as it goes into my account.

I am actually drawn to making a donation to ATS as I have enjoyed the site for a few years now, but it will only happen for me if the site owners can provide a named bank/account number/sort code for me to arrange an international money transfer to, so I can pay in cash at a local agency.
Sorry for being such a luddite, but I will fight for anonymous cash as long as I can...although I appear to be losing the battle as the years go by lol

I thought so...and when I initially asked the question, I hadn't really thought it through. It didn't dawn on me to utilize a pre paid card until I was reading through this thread this morning. I don't use them enough to remember their existence...lol.

Well I'm a little bit older than 30 but I run my life the same way, cash only, no cards, no bank account, no debts or loans, no direct debits/standing orders, just the paper in my wallet or 'under the bed' lol
If a site owner wants to PM me a bank name/account number then I'm happy to walk to my local international money transfer agency and send a few anonymous £'s to the cause, but that's the only way I'll be doing it.

I'm not being an buttkisser or a jerk...but do you see the size of this place? This thing is massive enough that "a server" doesn't cut it

Go to an analytic tool ((don't know if I can mention the name of the site)) and look at ATS's world ranking...and notice the multiple domains...yeah it isn't surprising that this site costs a butt ton ((not sure how much a butt ton is..I think between $1.00 and $1,000,000))
