Do you make compounds or just sell stuff over the counter, I guess I am asking are you a cook or checkout chick

So a pharmacist cannot sell stuff? A checkout operator cannot be a male? Wow you're starting to sound more like that Roman lover Zealot Paul..who twisted Jesus sayings into a new roman cult. He was a great mysogonist too. Your passive aggressive underdress slip is showing.

What i understand is that evolution is a theory....it is not a science unto itself.

so again...is science only ok, when it allows you to belittle people?

How do you explain the development of antibiotics resistant strain of bacteria’s after a couple of generations ?

Their generations are different than a humans - would be their answer.

Oh hang on, if after adams sin man lost immortality..why did methuselah live to be 969. Noah 950 etc. BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS SO. BECAUSE. by this logic we wouldnt have seen past childbirth in what 1000BC? I cant be bothered doing the math

no offense, but your have demonstrated, numerous times, your rather loose grasp on subjects of a scientific nature...this coupled with your propensity for making things up, really doesn't inspire confidence in the veracity of your assertions.

basically, i don't believe you know what you're talking about, so i'm not going to take your word for it.

there is a school of thought in quantum mechanics that all things exist in a "superstate", if you will, where all matter simultaneously exists in all places, at all times, both past, and future..... -shrug- like i said, i'm not sure i buy it completely. BUT the research is extensive, and makes sense, on it's face....

I would like you to tell an abused child that they can create their own reality and see how well that goes.

That is one of the worst things I have heard you say. You do realize that peadophile priests do do that psychologically dont you? Only after careful counselling would the child (now an adult) remember the abuse. It was Blackinc who mentioned punching theultimatebelgianjoke in the face.

Wow you're really something sinking so low. All to what avail...that the world is 6000 years old, or evolution is/is not a myth. Keep it logical.

Reality, and common sense, as YOU see them....not as they truly are. there is a difference.

and we're not talking about abused children. we're talking about science.

i would very much like you to share with the rest of the class where the theory of evolution says that genetic information MUST be added, and that evolution demands that the complexity of a life form must increase...

this was the same silly argument that was made in the "greatest lie ever told" video that the OP posted in his LAST "evolution is bunk" thread...

you lot keep making the argument, but never back it up...in the case of the video, the guy based the assertion on his cherry-picked definition of the word "evolution"...talk about twisting the science to fit a paradigm...

Everything is evolution to these people. They point at examples of speciation for example as if this is some kind of argument against creationism when all speciation really is, is a loss of genetic information over time between two different species of the same kind of animal, as they lose the ability to procreate with each other. If they believe in change over time by common ancestry, then they are going to have to do a whole lot better than that, because this is in fact de-evolution, not evidence of increasing complexity as the theory of evolution by common ancestry demands. It is a shining example of the evolutionist twisting the real science to fit into their paradigm.

You are a very confused child. Evolution is everything? You still don't even grasp what evolution means and have made no attempt whatsoever to learn about the subject or improve your understanding before criticizing it. I'm going to say this for the last time: EVOLUTION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GOD OR CREATIONISM. Absolutely nothing, except for the fact that brainwashed creationists constantly attack it, unjustifiably. You have created the either / or scenario when it could be both or evolution could have been created by god. Science supporters don't come on here and say that evolution means there is no god. YOU GUYS come on here and attack it based on poor understanding of the subject. The supporters just defend science because it works in our day to day lives, whereas religion does not show any evidence or even a slight indication that it's working.

Upgrade your grey matter, cause one day it may matter.

Gnosticism seems to be the flavour of the month here, they are as delusional as those who think evolution is a proven science.

What you fail to grasp is that your jehovah IS THE DEIMURGE. need I quote the jehovah inspired genocides of the OT. And gnosticism has been around just as long as Nicaen christianity. Not exactly flavour of the month. Or do you equate number of proclaimed adherents of christianity as opposed to gnostics - as some sort of might is right = truth?

firstly, i'm not entirely sure i care if you respect my posts or not. i don't know you, so i can't rightly say whether or not your opinion means anything to me.

secondly, i was not saying what i said, in order to promote psychiatry...if you know anything about me, you'll know that i'm no fan of psychiatric drugs. the point of my statement was that tom's only knowledge-base for his understanding of the "facts and truth" of psychiatry, was the writings(lunatic ramblings on paper) of L. Ron Hubbard, a crazy person..

people who see the bible as a factual historical account, take everything in it 100% literally, use the bible to prove the bible, and rabidly defend it from ANY even SLIGHT questioning, are exactly the same as tommy-boy...

Maybe some sound scientific evidence in favor of creationism?

Does any exist for the young earth model?

Or any alternative theory to evolution?

That's one thing I've yet to see anyone post yet (maybe I missed it).

This will never happen. Creationists are raised on faith and told that it cannot be questioned, so they apply this mentality to everything in the world, regardless of what it actually means. They just blindly keep attacking and slapping the mosquitoes away from their face and at the same time say the mosquitoes do not exist. It's quite comical when folks like BlackManINC provide zero evidence of their own, they only deny everyone else's without explanation or reason.

i mean, maybe this is off topic, but this is outright insanity....this thread is about evolution being B.S.....then when people defend it, we're getting called heathens, and being offered physical violence....

why in the hell would any sensible person want to believe ANYTHING people like this do?

They will repack the same drugs under a new name, and new use it can be put to ,roll out the salesmen, the free trips for the doctors. Meanwhile the list of contraindications grow. The DMSV has what over 1000 "illness'" now? You do realize that the anectodal throwaway of "it takes over $100 million" to make a new drug does bear scrutiny. Most of that money goes to lobbyists or put in reserve for future litigation.

I could have worded my post better - my main point being that psychiatry has replaced the confessor priest as the new religion. It feeds at the public trough and yet its looking for that chemical imbalance. Lets not get into ADHD medications.

Psychology and counselling have their rightful place. Mental incarceration is a return to the dark ages.

I understand that the science of the mind continues to grow, its the foundation of psychiatry as a hard fact science that i question.

Cool..thanks for clarifying. The thing about knowing someone through the "lens of the net" as to whether respect is deserved or not is kind of moot don't you think? I meant I respected you by your posts in good faith - take it how you like,

Hubbard did well for himself financially through his cult. I dont think the creationists or YECs are up to his money making skills. I dont think you can "blanket" all creationists with the same "lock em up in sea.org and bleed them financially" as Scientology does

Agreed. But I still think it a bit off using the "abuse of a child" to prove a point. I can understand why you got angry...I've been called all sorts of thing, apart from heathen> And yet I know there is a god, just not the one christians worship. Come to think of it...every attack I get by a christian makes me want to change my member name to Heathen and wear it with pride.

Take care...I love your posts

Actually, they can't do that, because there is already a market for that very thing. It's called the generic drug market. Once a drug comes off patent, any company can pick it up and HAS to manufacture the same way. With the growing concern that we are running out of molecules to create new drugs, what pharmaceuticals companies are ACTUALLY doing is turning to biotechnology.

Your point about the DMS is irrelevant. Like I said, the science is in its infancy. Yes there is some ridiculous notions that are being said like they are true, but keep in mind, just 100 years ago doctors used to blow tobacco smoke up the anus to resuscitate drowning victims.

I could have worded my post better - my main point being that psychiatry has replaced the confessor priest as the new religion. It feeds at the public trough and yet its looking for that chemical imbalance. Lets not get into ADHD medications.

All science is held back by bad and corrupt scientists. Obviously a science that is still in its early stages would be more subject to this since there isn't as much evidence to contradict the claims.

Psychology and counselling have their rightful place. Mental incarceration is a return to the dark ages.

Who said anything about mental incarceration? Psychology and psychiatry are moving away from that. That is why they give drugs out. Soon, we will be doing biotechnology and drugs will become a dinosaur just like mental incarceration. Maybe a biocomputer that regulates serotonin levels in depression patients or something.

I understand that the science of the mind continues to grow, its the foundation of psychiatry as a hard fact science that i question.

This is one flaw that I find with psychiatry and psychology, they rely on a lot of subjective evidence and statistical sampling of that subjective evidence. Unfortunately it is just a flaw that we need to accept and try to do as much to take the subjectivity out of it, since we are dealing with the very idea of what makes the mind different. The best way to do that is statistical sampling, but that is prone to the error of being able to make statistics say whatever you want.

I feel that better ways to measure these diseases of the mind will come along in time though. But I do suggest you stop parroting random conspiracy theories about psychology and psychiatry just because, currently, their cures aren't really that.

Unless you consider these 'years' to be lunar phases, it is indeed impossible.
So if it seems important for the author to mention those irrelevant numbers, it is probably because they have an other meaning. And then you switch to Kabbalah ...

Nah its a southern hemisphere thing (we are both antipodeans) Chemist = Pharmacist in the local venacular. I just happen to be the "goes into the lab and makes stuff" type of chemist, not a pharmacist. Mind you I am now in management so its an "emergency" when I have to enter plant and make or bottle stuff .... which I am about to do (urgent product) .... yay hazmat gear in the middle of summer.

Someone dropped the name of Kent Hovind earlier, which made me laugh.
58 felony charges and a ten year prison sentence for tax evasion iirc.
For those who don't know about the man's credentials...

In 1971, he graduated from East Peoria Community High School in East Peoria, Illinois. From 1972 to 1974, Hovind attended the non-accredited Midwestern Baptist College and received a Bachelor of Religious Education.

In 1988 and 1991 respectively, Hovind was awarded a master's degree and doctorate in Christian Education through correspondence from the non-accredited Patriot University in Colorado Springs, Colorado (now Patriot Bible University in Del Norte, Colorado, which no longer offers this program).[8] Having a website called "Dr. Dino" has provoked some academics to look closely at how Hovind presents his education and credentials. Barbara Forrest, a professor of philosophy, expert on the history of creationism and activist in the creation-evolution controversy, wrote that Hovind's lack of academic training makes it impossible to engage him on a professional level.[9]

Patriot Bible University is a diploma mill, as it has unreasonably low graduation requirements, lack of sufficient faculty or educational standards, and a suspicious tuition scheme.[10][11] The school's current policies allow students to attain bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and Doctor of Ministry degrees in months, rather than years, for as little as $37 per credit.[12][13]

Bartelt has stated that Hovind's doctoral dissertation is evidence of the poor requirements at Patriot and that Hovind lacks knowledge of basic science.[14] She noted that Hovind's dissertation is incomplete (it contains four chapters totaling 101 pages, but Hovind's introduction claims the work is 250 pages with 16 chapters), of low academic quality, with poor writing, poor spelling, and poor grammatical style. Bartelt asserts that pages are repeated, references are absent, and it is not an original work with original ideas.[14]
