Not exactly sure who this "we" is that you keep talking about ? I am guessing that you are referring to the U.S government ?

Also, I am not exactly sure who you are speaking about when you say " they have always been fighting each other ." ?

To be clear , the U.S armed the Afghans to fight off a USSR invasion, not Russia. Very important point that must not be overlooked.

As for your question, "what I would do if I was in a Country bombed on a regularly basis ?" I would like to answer, but can you please tell me what country and who exactly was dropping the bombs ?
This will let me put things into context so that I can answer you .

lol, I'm a liberal. Not right wing at all.

I'll tell you what we do with the hundreds of thousands practicing Muslims. We tell them to put the brakes on their extremist friends or their mosque gets torn down. We tell them to change the ideology of their religion or it gets packed up in a box and dumped into the sea. Harsh? Ya I know but it's the only way. Sorry.

They actually have to take a stand and rat the extremists out, though if its their teenage kids its not going to happen as anyone should know. So, most of what you're suggesting if they started to step up, would be show. However this does need to be done.

Isis threatened a lot of countries a short while ago, and with the shopping mall incident, that was stopped or prevented, and then this to me its all for fascist takeover. Its our Government that is responsible for this surge of what I term High Risk people, all over the place, even in little out of the way towns of 1000, and suddenly we have this influx of African's, and others, don't know who, but some were Phillipines and they have a strong Muslim population. Was driving and a young man/teenager looked up and he met my eyes with pure hatred. It shocked the hell out of me.

This is not something that should be happening but its happening with the blessings of our Government. Treason!

Now do I want everyone kicked out? I don't know, perhaps! I want our nation and its ideals safe. But think things may have to be looked at carefully case by case.

I want to see their women monitored and dressed in blue jeans, and speaking up, and see their men tip toeing and serving their families and not dominating them. I want the Mosques gone, consider Islam a Theocracy and political system, but its not easy call. Intense monitoring?

Congratulations on your first post and WELCOME TO ATS!

Can you tell me why you say there are three shooters? Did you hear this from the cops, or are you basing this on this morning's news?

Well a lot of western countries are involved actually it is not only the US government... And I would also like to pose that everyone that pays tax is responsible too... Afterall, they are the ones paying for the bombs!

The they is middle eastern countries, the sheites and sunis and kurds etc... They have always been fighting each other... Because one of them says they hate the other we must step in and drop bombs all over the place? I couldn't care less about the fighters so much, I care about the innocent people that get stuck in the middle and blown to kingdon come... The MILLIONS of people that have been killed over the years.

USSR-Russia... Call it what you wanna call it... We still armed the taliban, simple as that!

What the hell does it matter who? Bombs are bombs... murder is murder... Your family are still dead! What the hell does it matter who? Seems to me you just want to try your best to avoid the question!

EDIT: Here is a link regarding the first iraq war... en.wikipedia.org...

Initially 4 countires involved but eventually 36 other countries joined in... So... Hardly just the US gov here is it. And this is just the first one, I can go into all the others if you like? Afghanistan, syria etc

I don't know what to think anymore. This morning was a good enough reason to get mad but somewhere lies the deepest dichotomous cognitive dissonance about all of this. On one hand I despise what Islam has come to represent. Then on the other hand I despise Benjamin Netanyahu for what Israel has come to represent. Yet on another hand I want ISIS removed from the face of the earth however on another hand I deplore Harper for getting involved. At the end of the day I look like the Hindu deity Vishnu.

The pragmatic mind tells me to just remove the problem completely, like a cancerous cell from the body. Cut it out and remove all chance of it ever growing back. OR win them over. Let's assume the latter is the answer. How do we win over radical Muslims? There is a rule in the 48 laws of power that says, "hire an enemy and he will be more loyal that a friend" "friends are quick to become jealous but an enemy has something to prove"

I really don't know what the answer is. Tightening security isn't one of them.

I just finished watching Harpers speech. It was awkward. It's like... the words he was using to form sentences actually sounded like he gave a damn about people and their safety, but his eyes, the mono-tone... he appeared to be cringing even more than I was trying to listen to him.

I wish he would just stick to not answering any questions where he seems more natural and assured.

No, Im saying this because the original Shooter which was seen by witnesses had shotgun fired 2 shots the guard at the War Memorial had ran back to his car across the street to Parliament Hill which is about 100m feet away and opened fire in Center Block and was killed by guards while he was in there "my uncle is a tour bus driver and is privy to the info, also his son " my cousin" is also on of the guards at House of Commons who my whole family has spoken with...afterwards there were more shootings a few blocks over at a Rideau Centre, police and rcmp moved into that area, one suspect took off on motorcycle as reporters were live a few blocks back, as well as a few friends that were in the area tweeting what they say, few minutes later more shots fired at Majors Hill Park" "2 blocks from the mall" and which is directly behind the US Embassy. More Swat eventually Moved into the park along with more RCMP and Canadian Army for about an hour crouching down aimed at Ottawa River with snipers from on top of government buildings in the area could be seen everywhere. At one point more swat came in and pushed back the perimeter about 8 blocks. As of now the whole DT Core as I mentioned is still on lockdown, still choppers circling the area. Also medical staff has reported 4 people have come into Civic Hospital with gunshot wounds, one of which who has died, the others in stable condition. Most of the info is from what I've witnessed myself other than the original shooting of the soldier. I cant believe this is happening here. Members of parliament are still locked down as well as government workers. Something is going on here that the media isnt telling us

A friend of mine writes speeches for Harper, that being said you can tell he was reading off off the Teleprompter. Looking as his eyes he seems like he has no soul, or....he is so much over his head now that he knows that Terror is here in Canada...in the Capital, at his doorstep. It Must be a huge weight on his shoulders to finally realize that " ok well now we have to to something". Canada will never be the same, Ottawa is now in a Poilce State, it has now started.

The problem is we cant kill an idea or ideology, that is well proven, I don't know the solution either..its really near impossible to reason with radicals from any religeon. Of course TPTB will run with this as its a shame to let a perfectly good tragedy go to waste.

Did you see Thomas Mulcairs speech after? God that was bad too. He was trying to purposely feign calm with the fake smiles and message to not be intimidated but man, it was awkward. None of them seem to have any fire in their bellies. Oh yea, we're talking Canadian politicians. At least the Brits put on good theatrics.

Well, if terrorists send their families to live there ...

Why do you think you're immune again?

An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.
- Winston Churchill

I don't think we're immune at all, what I have a problem with is being Mini-Me to the US's Doctor Evil. I like peeps from the US, know quite a few of them, it's the "bought and paid for" politicians I have a problem with and we have the same problem here in Canada as well. If the CIA organized and funded ISIS as they did with AlCIAda, then the US government through their rogue intelligence service got two soldiers here killed, and over what? What does the US government's handlers want from Syria? Is there oil there, or maybe rare earth metals, what's the deal this time?

Looks like a government sponsored false flag to me, one they hope will rally Canadians to "fight" (or at least support the fight) against this new "designer" terrorism. It's like a plot from a bad movie, bad because we know what Harpinista will do next.

Cheers - Dave

Haha. The Hindu goddess came to mind as I was reading your post. I share many of your feelings, but to say increased security is not needed after a guy with a gun walks into center block definitely requires a huge re-think, imo, as does placing an honor guard as sitting ducks at the tomb of the unknown soldier. I can think of other places in Ottawa that would need a primping in terms of too easy access, but I won't be stupid enough to name them in a public forum.

We have been an open and trusting society and tomorrow morning I'm sure I will wake up with the same wariness I've had in the past ten years. Still proud to be numbered among Canadians who will forever bitch and gripe against our politicians, greedy corporations, Monsanto and BigPharma, and of course crappy winter weather.

Do I feel afraid or in danger? No, I still feel safe. We do have to talk about this radicalization problem a whole lot more though and whether it can be reversed or prevented. Just my 2 cents' worth, lol.

Besides the involvement of the shrinks, look for contact with the Canadian military. Canada, in fact, always makes sure it's whack shooters are well--trained:

5-28-75 Centennial Secondary School, Michael Slobodian, 16
"...somebody asked him about his new short haircut and he replied, "I've joined the armed forces."
"...he did apply for admission to the local militia regiment."

10-27-75 St. Pius X High School, Ottawa, Robert Poulin, 18
"...but Robert Poulin had gotten more than just standard training. He had gotten a little unauthorized commando training on the side after hours, given by a militia corporal who has since volunteered to serve with British Forces in Northern Ireland." .... 'He(the corporal) wanted guys for his commando training who didn't look like killers.... he wanted to turn them into fighters, start with the tame ones and turn them into killers.' " ( "Rape of a Normal Mind," by Christopher Cobb and Bob Avery)

12-6-89 Ecole Poytechnique, Marc Lepine, 25
Luc Riopel, the Laval landlord, said that when Lépine moved out, he had said that he was going off to join the army.

9-13-06 Dawson College, Montreal, Kimveer Gill, 25
Gill did basic training at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School in Saint-Jean, Que., for a month in 1999

You have a knack for misrepresenting and over generalization.

Your question.."What the hell does it matter who? Bombs are bombs... murder is murder... Your family are still dead! What the hell does it matter who? Seems to me you just want to try your best to avoid the question! "

Please tell me how can that even be answered ? You offer no context except your own inflections .

If a murder was dropping bombs on me yes I would be mad . But what if these bombs are being dropped on the murderers to help save me ?

My intuition tells me 'government sponsered false flag'.
I'm not too involved in the politics of the whole thing.
But that's when my intuition works best...as an objective observer.

It irritates me as a first-generation American to hear the "holier than thou" Canadian response of..."it's one thing if it's America...that's to be expected...but this is Canada." My father escaped communism to come to America. Many of his countrymen escaped communism to come to Canada. They embraced their new countries. Current and new generations can't be held to task for the sins of all those that lived in their country in the past. And...for all those that want to say, "you can't imagine what we are experiencing here in Canada today" I can tell you I EXPERIENCED IT HERE IN AMERICA WATCHING 9/11 LIVE IN REAL-TIME. You CAN'T BELIEVE it's happening in your homeland. You can't believe your innocence is being taken away. You can't believe that this might change your way of life. I certainly understand and agree with the sentiments of those that wish to live free and not follow the measures of the Patriot Act. SO DO AMERICANS. We are all victims in this radicalized world.

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me." - Martin Niemoller

We are ALL in this together.

Thanks for your input. I am very familiar with Majors Hill Park also, which is directly behind the Chateau Laurier and in front of the American embassy. (its address says Sussex Drive) Then those shots would explain why we saw the Swat teams running into and around the Chateau.

You'll be relieved to know that the MPs were let out about two hours ago to go home, but the parliament building is still a crime scene, so I'm guessing that there will be no one around there tomorrow other than security forces.

I hope you will be able to sleep tonight.
Do you feel in danger where you live?
