After being on this site for a few years.

Rather easy to see 'self radicalization' in progress.

Just take a look back through this thread, with so-called "liberals" demanding all Muslims be treated like criminals, that they're all responsible for murder, even that people should be rounded up and killed!

Radicalization isn't reserved for militant Islam, it's happening right here and pushing people to a far-right nationalism that is both incredibly ignorant and quite scary to see in co-called "free and democratic" nations like ours.

I honestly hope some of the right-wingers expressing dangerous things on here are now on watch lists, they deserve to be, I consider them more of a threat to my rights and freedoms than a peaceful Muslim citizen.

Kinda of like the peaceful one that just attacked multiple targets in Canada? Or the one that ran over a couple soldiers? You mean those kind of peaceful Muslims?

Wake up! Sucks that certain things need to be done to protect others, but I haven't seen a single "peaceful" Muslim try to push the radicals out.

So is your suggestion just to sit back and let happen whatever happens?

Mine is to profile the hell out of that community and ferret out every last one. No need to kill them...just find them. We have to quit being so PC about this crap....doing nothing and being lazy is what they count on...that and using the laws of other countries to their favor.

So it seems based on corroborating reports, the videos and such, Bibeau pulled up in his plateless car, went up to the monument, fired 4 shots off and in some or all of those, shot the guard point blank (think about how long it would take to fire 4 shots lever action)

Hijacked a government car, drove up to parliament, fired off "20 or more" shots (keep in mind lever action), then Vickers fired at him. One officer reported Vickers went back to his office and reloaded, then the two went out and shot Bibeau. This was the gunfire heard in the video.

I wonder if this man has anything to do with what has happened in the past couple of days or only coincidence?
Ottawa Citizen
He was arrested in August of 2010, found guilty in July of 2014 and was scheduled for sentencing October 23, 2014 one day after the parliament attack and 2 days after another soldier was run down in Quebec.

Emotional Ahmed apologizes for terrorist crimes: 'It is not who I am'
As his relatives sobbed, convicted terrorist Misbahuddin Ahmed apologized Wednesday for his crimes, saying he “cherished” being Canadian and the freedoms that Canadians enjoy.

“I am sorry for the hurt my actions have caused my family, my community and my fellow Canadians,” said Ahmed, his voice shaking with emotion. “I am humbled by the support I have received.”

The 31-year-old father of three young daughters said he had abandoned his extremist views and told his sentencing hearing: “It is not who I am. I will never do anything like this again.”

Crown prosecutors are calling for a 20-year penitentiary sentence for Ahmed, rejecting defence claims that the former Ottawa Hospital worker was less of a terrorist and more of a naïve dupe.

"Mr. Ahmed was committed to violent jihad,” he said. “There is no evidence that his extremists beliefs have been attenuated or extinguished.”

A jury convicted Ahmed, a former diagnostic imaging technician, of two terrorist-related offences — conspiracy to commit a terrorist offence and participating in the activities of a terrorist group.

He was acquitted of the most serious of the charges against him, explosive device possession.

Still amazed me that people or let say "Muslim religion of peace" apologist can come around and with all that is going on in the world and now in Canada keep preaching that no all Muslims are bad.

So what can we the people do? wait on them until they get their guns and start shooting innocent people to thin out the bad apples from the good ones?.

The heck with that, I always say and do not stop saying, Islam is a law and from where the Muslim religion abides by is not and never has been a religion of peace

Sadly the youth that has been recruited in this side of the world are nothing but pawns to those that pull the strings in the other side of the world.

So would you be OK with monitoring Christian churches that have KKK ties? Or churches that extoll violence against people who don't fit their belief system?

Radicalism is everywhere, partly because people keep ramping it up. Someone shoots someone, that person's family bombs their house. It's sickening. We keep treating the symptoms but not the underlying disease of irrational human emotions like hate and greed.

CBC is claiming that the video of his car is before he drove to parliament, implying it is the car he used to drive up to the door. If so, how did a plateless civilian car get all the way up there?!

What about the witness reports that he hijacked a government vehicle (as these are the only cars allowed up there)?

Some of the largest street gangs in the U.S. are actually Islamic. I don't think a lot of the members realize this as it's not something that is pushed on them. It simply exists in the background until you dig deeper. When you see those 5 pointed stars and crescent moons it should clue in the observant. Depending how you look at it they are either white suburban kids, hardcore ghetto kids, a youth organization, or a terrorist organization that will do anything for money waiting to be tapped. Hopefully I'm wrong as they don't at the moment run around preaching Islam or anything, but it exists with all of it intertwined for some reason.

That depends somewhat on what fed govt is in power..previous ones have occasionaly told the U.S. to get stuffed, this one bends over and speads.

Cant stop an ideology when it has everywhere to hide.
Best is to stop meddling in other countries affairs thinking we are immune because we can take cover behind our buddy the USA,This is a direct result of Harpers policy in the ME and Africa, Our offensive hasn't worked it has clearly put us in more danger, we should get the heck out of there and let the region sort it out themselves.
Canada is not in the position to play world police.
There is a saying: never pick fight with somebody with less to lose, Canada should take heed.

I voted Liberal.
And look forward to watching our F-16s blast the limbs off of their radicalized filthy bodies.

Point being that I don't know one Liberal that doesn't hate these ISIS idiots.
Conservative, Liberal, Green party, whatever, We're all at war with radical Islam.
That's the truth we have to face today.

Here's a thought to get the conspiracy juices flowing. Why are they showing that particular picture and where did they get it? If they know who he is and he's already got a record, then how come they're not showing his mug shot instead? Something does smell off about this.

That's an interesting point you just made.

If a mug shot doesn't surface soon, it will not only smell....it will stink to high heaven.

Why hasn't that already been shown? It would only add credence to what a bad character he is which, in turn would add to the story.

I honestly don't understand how people can try to condemn all Muslims as terrorists. Most of the people who are fighting the Muslim extremists are Muslims themselves. It is hate filled rhetoric like this that leads to the slaughter of innocent people, average every day Muslims have no reason to apologize or constantly speak out against their acts.

I don't see Christians apologizing for the Christian Fundamentalist terror groups attacking Muslims in Africa. Why is justifiable to collectively punish all Muslims for the acts of a few extremists? Why is it that people will denounce the Muslim "hate preachers" but not even address the fact that there are Christian "hate preachers" who seem to paint all Muslims as terrorists thus inciting violence against Muslims or even calling for the killing of gays?

The wreckless generalizations of an entire billion plus group of people as a bunch of stone age murderers out to enslave women is part of the problem and feeds into the narrative that allows terrorist ideals to spread.

No, we are slave to Britain and sometimes step in to help Britain's pit-bull when they drop ball.

You don't really think that the US is running the show do you?

So home grown 'terrorist'.

Every western country has that problem.

And it is fueled by the 'internets'.

So convenient isn't it?
For anyone wanting complete control over the internet anyway.
Enjoy your posting freedom while it lasts.
I have an idea it won't last much longer.

I'm actually really surprised it's lasted as long as it has.
