The Rideau Center is the confirmed third shooting scene. It is a shopping center located just kitty corner from the Chateau Laurier on the corner of Wellington Street and Sussex Drive, about 500 feet to the east of the war memorial. The National Defense HQ opens directly across the street from the rear second floor of the Rideau Center. There are many exits from the Rideau Center. It is still a fluid situation.

That means that it has increased the number of planes on a higher alert status ready to respond if needed. NORAD is for Canada as well, nothing odd about them going on alert. Them not going on alert would be odd.

NORAD monitors all NA airspace, including Canada.

Schools in Ottawa in lock down as well.

CJAD 800 is reporting that Ottawa Police have just breached the Rideau Center. They're still considering this an active shooter situation.

Our news is #ing incredible. They keep repeating "the first reports are not always accurate", the JTF2 former commander keeps saying "the gunmen were clearly looking for soft targets but we dont know more than that", and now they are saying we are waiting for confirmation on certain things.

We are under attack. All defense systems should be actively on alert. There are planes in the sky. NORAD better not be on stand down this time around! Not trying to make this bigger than it is, but Canadians are part of NORAD.

PM has cancelled the Toronto meeting with Nobel winner Malala Yousefsi scheduled for this afternoon.
