And that's the way it should stay. If not, you're basically letting the terrorists win.
If you start removing the freedoms of other citizens and close your society down you are basically bending over and telling the terrorists that they have won, and you open yourself up to more attacks because they know they can achieve something.

The same applies to the nutty nationalists who start screaming about "banning" certain religious beliefs or revoking the rights of "certain people" from speaking openly. You cannot have it both ways. You either have a free and open democratic society in the face of all extremism, or you give up and give in and let them win by changing your society and removing freedoms. America has got it wrong on many counts.

It was in fact Kevin Vickers who shot the suspect. It was just reported on CJAD 800.

Our own Government is terrorising us by pushing fears of terror, Ebola and whatever else they think will get a reaction. But to me all this states that western governments have completely lost control and for that they want MORE control. 

Quebec RCMP spokesperson about the shooting of a terror suspect 2 days ago sounded like she was complaining that she could not arrest someone just for "thinking" about terror and if she could the crime may not have happened.... and 2 days later this. 

The Harper regime has to go but Truedeau is not ready yet. We ate FUBAR.

Please, don't go into this nonsense about "drills" being "warnings" of "false flag" attacks. These were two military men standing guard at a memorial, there were no "drills" other than the usual military drill in the sense that they are on show and patrolling the memorial.

I'll tell you what we do with the hundreds of thousands practicing Muslims. We tell them to put the brakes on their extremist friends or their mosque gets torn down. We tell them to change the ideology of their religion or it gets packed up in a box and dumped into the sea. Harsh? Ya I know but it's the only way. Sorry.

My head certainly isn't in the sand. My point is they haven't even identified the shooters yet. Yes, they identified someone wearing a scarf so it could be muslim terrorists but, we just don't know for sure yet.

I'm more interested in reading the details of information as they unfold rather than asserting blame at this point.

There will time enough for that once they are identified.

So far the official story is still 1 dead 2 still no accounted for, seems to have been some sort of planned attack. I wonder if this is some sort of blow back for Canada deciding to join the bombing in the middle east.

How did he even DRIVE without license plates? Somehow the police always instinctively sense when I forget my license at home, and they cant even SEE that!

A shooting at Canada’s Parliament Hill took place on Wednesday morning, with one suspect shot dead.

Two sources told the Canadian Press that Sergeant-At-Arms Kevin Vickers shot the first suspect.

The Globe and Mail reported that a second shooter was shot by police, although it’s unclear if he or she is dead or alive.

The Ottawa Citizen said that after the first suspect was shot, police were tracking two more possible suspects, one fleeing on foot near Chateau, the other on motorbike.

Muslim people are no more responsible for extremist acts than you are responsible for racism. Should you be told to keep all white people in line or be punished for their actions?

And once again, this is nothing to do with the form of moderate Islam practiced by millions of people in our free countries. They are not on the streets demanding Sharia law, they are not persecuting women, they are not raping young girls and they are not all planning terrorist attacks on the countries MANY OF THEM WERE BORN IN.

You need to learn the difference between being a part of a peaceful group of individuals with a common interest and a group of extremists who use ANY excuse to inflict their maniacal demands on society. They are NOT THE SAME THING.
