I didn't "make you do anything", you already had that bent. You aren't blaming me for your opinions are you?

Yes, you helped to reinforce my distrust of those people with your comment; whether you believe it or not.

In your world you expect spirits to be 'visible' and what, do cameos on demand? You would dismiss that as "lasers" or something else even if it did happen right in front of your eyes.

That's some crazy hyperbole there. I just asked that the doll be taken out of the glass case (since you suggested that glass for some reason holds demons in check) and a camera be trained on it 24/7 with a live video stream where anyone can watch it live or recorded. I also suggested that a person could be placed in the room at times to see if the doll reacts to a human presence. You know SCIENTIFIC studies? But nah, let's just take two kooks' word for it, that is such a better way to go about discerning the truth...

There is no amount of "proof" that will convince a skeptic. The spirit world has you right where you want them.

That is a rather insulting generalization. You know nothing about me and what I will accept as proof. You clearly are so desperate to believe in spooks that you will insult people trying to bring a rational but dissenting view to the picture. Ad hominems are the mark of a losing argument, just an fyi.

Ed and Lorraine are BOTH frauds; I worked on the Amityville house when I was younger and as a carpenters helper. The owner had the whole house remodeled to change the look so people would stop driving by and gawking at it. Nothing EVER happened to me there, not only that, George Lutz, the owner of the home, admitted on his death bed it was all a lie, he made up the story about the haunting so someone would buy the house. It was a money pit, needing way too much work.

I'm not blaming you for anything. Apparently you have a reading comprehension problem. You mentioned something about the Warrens, that if true, would make me distrust them even more, because I can add that as further evidence of them being frauds. That is called piling on evidence not blaming you for my opinion.

I'm just analyzing the information. I showed that Ed and Lorraine are frauds then I posted a valid scientific experiment that could be done on the doll, and you give me the run around with ad hominems and obfuscation.

I don't trust the Warrens, no matter how nice, polite, and sincere they may be. Never have. I believe they were more sensationalists and opportunists, myself. Annabelle and the story behind it sounds like a load of crap to me, but I digress.

A much more impressively documented case of a cursed object is the Dybbuk Box.

Errm… one page back.

You just made me trust those two even less.

I didn't make you do anything.

Sorry for the off topic, OP.

AGAIN, that is called piling on evidence. You gave me some information that if true would make me trust them even less. You are clearly only reading what you want to read and have no intention of having an intelligent conversation with me despite my best efforts...

If you are going to apologize about being off topic, how about actually addressing my REAL points? Like the evidence that the Warrens are conmen or my experiment to test the validity of the claims on the doll? You know, things that ACTUALLY address things in the OP.

Not that I'm questioning the validity of your reply, but could you please provide a source where George Lutz, on his death bed, said it was a lie.

Point being its not a Hollywood doll, and the consequences of challenging some hex or spell aren't always apparently connected with a particular source.

Exactly. And since I come from what some consider a long line of "weirdos", I have to say that IF you believe in the supernatural, it's best to err on the side of caution. Meaning knowing how not to let things enter, or effect you, via personal protection.

So no, Annabelle wouldn't bother me.

Care to share that personal protection with other members?

So no, Annabelle wouldn't bother me.

Have you "bothered" her, though? Or are you saying you are immune to any spiritual influence?

Careful now. You just stated you have "personal protection". My guess that protection has something to do with a spiritual belief or practice. But I don't know, awaiting your answer.

As far as personal protection, I won't get into specifics, but for me, it has to do with my beliefs, yes, and practices.

And no, I would not "bother" her. I don't make it a practice of "inviting" any spirits into my home.

Maybe I need I need to clarify something? Annabelle the doll would be welcome in my home. Anything "hanging on" would not.

And immune in what sense?
Have I felt "something" and believe they are out there? Yes
Have I been "Haunted" by "Evil"? No

Not familiar at all with the Warrens or Annabelle.

I have seen a huge amount of evidence that suggests that inanimate objects can act as homing devices and create an open door to the demonic realm.

Q: Can demons actually possess dolls and statues?

A: Although demons do not technically "possess" inanimate objects such as dolls and statues, they will sometimes attach or link themselves to certain objects. Although there are a variety of reasons for this, the most obvious cause would be if a doll or a statue has been "personified," or given recognition as an object of profane worship, or used in a ceremonial practice in which demonic entities were invoked. (Two Scriptural references which specifically refer to this as the worship
of idols are: 1) Revelation 9:20, and 2) 1 Corinthians 10:20.)

Incidentally, demonic attachments to inanimate objects are not limited to dolls and statues. In fact, I once knew someone who, as a young boy of about five years old, picked up a glove which had been left in a cemetery...and a demonic entity instantly began harassing him! The vehicle in which screen idol Jimmy Dean was killed in is another example. Also, it almost goes without saying that the most common inanimate object to which a demonic entity will attach itself is the
infamous Ouija board.

Another cause of demonic entities having attached themselves to inanimate objects such as dolls or statues, is if someone who was demon possessed or severely oppressed, has owned or venerated this particular object. Of course, there is no reason to go through your house searching out every inanimate object which you've ever felt slightly unnerved about. However, if you do seriously feel there is something unnatural about an object in your possession...be it a doll, statue, Ouija board or what have you...it might just be a good idea to look up the history of this object, if possible. hauntanalyst.com...

SRA victims must be regularly re-brainwashed and abused in order to keep them in place. Sometimes they escape but they are invariably found quickly because of homing devices called 'implants' which satanists place inside their victims. These are usually small pieces of metal to which demons have been attached, the demons acting as a kind of psychic radio transmitter to other satanists which similar devices. Satan's goal is to ultimately get everyone to have these inserts, believed by many to be the demonised chip which has already been designed to be inserted under the skin of the hand or forehead so that all financial transations can be controlled and every human monitored, mentally controlled and, when necessary, be punished for getting out of line. www.nccg.org...

Any item used for protection from demonic forces is of the occult, even if it's a crucifix or other religious item such as a St. Christopher medal. When I told this to an harassment victim I worked with and advised her to dispose of the crucifix she'd been using for protection, demonic spirits manifested by surrounding the crucifix with an electrical charge so she couldn't pick it up. When the spirits causing the electric charge were cast away, the woman was able to pick the crucifix up and dispose of it.

I worked with an harassment victim whose fiancé had hung the Eye of Horus over their front door for protection. When she climbed on a chair to try to take it down, the demonic spirits attached to it tried to knock her off the chair.

I worked with an harassment victim whose father-in-law had a valuable Kachina doll collection. The harassing spirits didn't leave this woman alone until the collection of dolls was moved to the father-in-law's room, and the spirits attached to the dolls were bound in Jesus' name from harassing her from that remote location..

I've worked with literally hundreds of harassment victims, helping them to identify the things in their lives that have opened the doors to the demonic. In every case -- without exception -- demonic spirits have manifested in association with anything for which a power had been assigned.

This is not about a doll, but we had something unexplained happen with a baby monitor. I was gifted a basic baby monitor set for our newborn daughter because we live in a two level apartment and my sister thought it would be handy. My husband was watching her one night while I was taking my mom to the ER. When I got back home, I found the monitor set laying in the front yard in the snow. He told me that he was sitting at the computer, the baby sleeping, everything was quiet.... when suddenly he heard a male voice say "Hello. Hello. Hello". lol Last time we had anything like that in the house.. and he's quite the skeptic and unbeliever in these things.

I have heard it said, that the Amish will not allow dolls with faces on them for their children, because they believe it would house a spirit to look out through the eyes.

While having the opportunity to directly investigate/experience this allegedly haunted doll would be fantastic, I too, take the Warrens' claims with a pretty hefty grain of salt.

As for the questions regarding the doll not being able to leave the glass case, the case is supposedly blessed.

Kinda makes one curious where exactly they got that belief from...

Perhaps they once had an experience like this:

Some friends of ours were ministers who went to Haiti. One time they brought us some carved figurines as a gift. These statutes caused us strife in the family. Our daughter, Marie, felt like there were eyes watching her as she walked across the room. The Lord finally got our attention and we destroyed the wood figures. The wood would not burn normally and finally I had to soak them in charcoal-lighter fluid. When they finally burned, a green flame came out and shot toward us. These dolls were probably made by Voodoo worshipers who blessed them so that they would be sold. After getting rid of the statutes, the strife left our family. What do you think the green flame was - a demon?

HOUSE CURSES

My belief is that as long as one is walking close to God, that they should have nothing to fear...

Here is the bottom line analysis on food and objects that once were used for evil, idolatrous, or nefarious purposes: If it comes into the possession of a Christian he or she can use it with gratitude toward God in the service of the Kingdom of Christ. Nothing, not food or lifeless objects, are imbued with intrinsic evil. It is how they are used at any given moment in time that makes them unclean or evil at that moment. Even a Bible, if it is used to smack an innocent child in the face, becomes a tool of evil at that moment; but when the moment is gone it remains what it is, a lifeless object made of paper.

Why then are so many Christians spooked by electric guitars, old houses, and old books? To be blunt, they have scared themselves with superstition. They have failed to believe God when He says that nothing is intrinsically evil or unclean. They cannot see that just as they themselves went from serving Satan (their first father--John 8:44) to serving God (their adoptive Father) anything can be redeemed. They have fallen prey to superstition, which is a lack of faith in God and His omnipotence. This is our Father’s world. Satan is but a prince whereas Christ is the King, the Firstborn, the Ruler, and the Head.

So what should I do if I have an object in my possession that I think was once used to commit evil? If the object itself has a useful function in the domain of God, pray and thank God He has placed it into your care as His steward, and press it into His service. If it has value but no useful function, sell it and use the proceeds to advance the Kingdom of God. If the object has no good use (for example it may be pornographic or a book of incantations) then destroy it instead of allowing others to be enticed by its impure content. Be a good steward, put aside superstitions and recognize that lifeless objects are not possessed of good or evil. They are tools to be used for good by the good, or evil if owned by those who are yet still evil.

As well to keep people from touching it, me thinks. Some were musing earlier in the thread that the glass wouldn't stop a spirit. The glass case is not designed to keep something in. its designed to keep the curious out.
