Understood. Many people have disagreed with me, and even accused me of lying, including right here in this thread. It didn't feel great, given that I felt very vulnerable after making this post, as the response was not what I had expected, given this is the ATS Gray area; however, I was as courteous as possible, given the highly charged nature of this post, when members called me a liar. Take a look and see. This is different. Why? Because lovebeck and Lucidity have targeted me, and this evolved over at another post I made. I use the word 'target' specifically, as that is what is going on. Furthermore, I am disappointed that the moderators have apparently chosen to allow this to continue, when what is happening is wrong. If not for the fact that several other respected long-time members in good standing have encouraged me to hang in there, including in private messages, I would have left the other day after my first run in with these two, because it is completely senseless and unnecessary. Read lovebeck's "reply" again, above. Read it carefully. She is not addressing the topic. She is yet again playing tag team with Lucidity, and discusses me personally, my posts, etc, in a manner designed to raise suspicions about me and my motivations for being here. Am I the only one who can see this? As you say, I am indeed a "logical and smart person", and I can see very clearly what is going on, even if few others here can. Thank you for your response, which I sensed as being genuinely kind and supportive. At least, I'd like to think so.
:cheers

dont let them get under your skin

Ask them some simple questions

1)have they every directly served in the military

2)ask them if they are fimiliar with military training procedures

3)ask them if they have ever asked any military people in person over this topic

Please note your a little new here in a way.. If you feel this crossed a line ask a mod's opinion .. Your not complaining but asking them to monitor the conversation..

If they bump yours or their post do not get mad.. They are just ruling that the conversation drifted to non thread business and might suggest a separate thread for the material..

the mods prefer clean threads that stick to the topic.. off topic means to me to create a separate thread.. They have a lot of tools to classify why a post is removed and they will use them to keep conversations going on topic

Example would be me Claiming that all of this is due to HAARP mind manipulation of the weather pressures.. And then going on for three post over how fort bragg is named after a confederate general so it is aobviously a neo nazi hide out for operation paperclip

The mods would snip that..

As for the validity of your thread and its topic

Yes we have had this conversation on a military base while active duty

Another friend did as well and other issue arose

The issue is going to come up because you have to be aware of what the military protocols and rules are

Again let the mods know to watch the thread so they go a prunin

OP, I'm the guy who would normally jump right on board
and sail with a story like this. But this time i held back
and have been following along loosely. I've often faced
adversity and out right attacks from members many times
in the " Origins and Religion " forums. Many times over
by five or six at a time. Never bothers me a bit because
I'm convinced of the truth in my words. I can't come on
board with you here. If the truth is what you speak here
you certainly haven't stood up for it IMO.

This has been going on for several years, and is why all our military branches are losing the "best and brightest" in droves.

The Ebola Panic is just the latest excuse for Team Obama to try and declare "martial law." Maybe-medical people armed with little "fever-reader guns" can walk up to anyone, declare that they have a fever and are thus to be quarantined.

I don't know how many of those barbed-wire FEMA camps are still around, after the outcry over them being constructed in Obama's first term. But with cities like Dallas being declared "disaster areas", it's a short hop to roadblocks and choking off supplies and utilities to any city.

Although this DOES explain why Letterkenny Army Depot in Pennsylvania has been busy training "indirect fire infantry." For the military troops who don't want to fire directly on civilians, just load that mortar, or punch a button from a mile away to let those .50 caliber machine guns fire away!

And you don't even have to be Army - you can be National Guard!

I just wanted to add that as ominous as that 'killing US citizens' sounds, I , as a civilian, have been tempted to end the rotten lives of certain of our citizens without orders from above.

If it came to some Orwellian scenario where we are being marched into camps, I'd have to say the very American meme of antiauthoritarianism would win out and our sons and daughters in olive drab wouldn't turn into Nazis... but then I'm eternally optimistic between bouts of depression.

And how would you handle the scenario - being practiced across the U.S. for years now - where public schools hold Disaster Drills, and the kids end up in distant enclosed locations, with parents (who may or may not have been notified of this Drill) suddenly called to come pick their kids up?

Even if you drive in with a loaded weapon, are you really going to shoot smirking Homeland Security/Military guards standing behind a group of children?

I fail to understand your comment. I confess to being confused. I shared something that was difficult for me to share. My responses to even the most critical comments have been sincere. The thoughtful replies have been appreciated. As for the rest...at this point, I really don't care.

Probably talking about Muslims US citizens...
Or black children...
Or Mexican migrants...

Surely not about upper class white folk!!!

When the question is: Would you kill when we ask you to.

This can mean a lot of Things. But in truth it means would you kill who ever we order you to kill.

This is often presented to special branches within the special forces where the kill becomes the main priority of the mission.. But in a more moral maner. The order(s) are always suplimented With a moral reason.

Special forces are not made up of fools and idiots. They are often more aware than the political Brass giving the kill order.

It seems you do understand. And if you don't care then why
write this thread in the first place? I'll just ask that one question
and see what kind of response you muster. If you don't answer at all
that's fine. I'll be the one who's confused.

Why did you write this thread?

This makes sense to me. I have noticed that the higher my nephews advance, the more mysterious it all has become. I do get the sense that one nephew in particular may now be involved with special forces of some kind. This was my first thought when my sister shared the little she did. And she told me they don't mention much of anything to her anymore. They are both strongly ethical and moral men. How they will navigate through all this will be between their conscience and their God.

Every Recruit is asked that question before going to basic training and they have been asking that for over 20 years. You have to say yes just to be allowed into the armed forces of the USA. I know because I was asked this over 20 years ago. Saying you will just to get in hardly means anyone will.

There were many Army and NG troops told their Commanding officers when landing in New Orleans during Katrina that they would not disarm any Americans, they heard about the rumors that the orders were in and decided in mass to quash the idea in a hurry.

Our troops train to do a lot of crazy scenarios just because they are ordered too and it keeps them sharp, if the order comes down to shoot Americans in a big way many of those barking that order will either be arrested or shot. American troops know what they fight for and its not D.C., its their families, friends and the people of the country as a whole.

I give the reason for posting this thread in the OP. See the question I pose, at the end. I have received some very helpful, intelligent responses, which I am grateful for. As for the rest, I now know that this is typical of some members at ATS.

Yes, other posters shared this. But this was different. My sense was it was connected to a possible advancement of some kind. I wonder now if such a hypothetical advancement could be related to special forces, based on another recent respondent's reply. This is what led me to create the OP. I wondered what people knowledgeable about military matters might think. I do appreciate your reply. Any further comments / insights from you would be most welcomed.

Unless you're referring to the line "defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic", you are completely full of crap.

The people familiar with military matters have seriously questioned the validity of your story but you ignore them or respond defensively. You only seem interested in patting people on the back when they agree with you. Most responses that seem to have first hand experience have stated that they were never asked by a superior in an official capacity but were only asked as a "what if" type question while having random discussions among their peers.

Your rabid defensiveness is a liar's trait.

Apparently you have not read all the replies. The fact that you do not respond to the topic, but attack me personally, tells me all I need to know. If you consider standing up for oneself and one's truth "rabid defensiveness," then there is little more for me to say.
