BTW, in the case of the MMR vaccine, and the possible "encephalopathy" it may cause. Remember that the MMR is a live attenuated vaccine, which contains the live attenuated form of the viruses. Children, and adults who are pre-disposed to have a mitochondrial dysfunction can develop autism, or other neurological disorders after receiving the MMR vaccine.

Also remember that Rubella, is one of the confirmed causes of Autism. There are children that shouldn't receive the MMR vaccine, and there are ways to avoid the possible brain inflammation that the MMR vaccine could cause, so it is a good idea to ask your doctor about it. Of, course, always consult with your doctor.

Anyways, it seems obvious that the "pro-vaccine manufacturers" in this thread forget the fraud behind the "pro-vaccine" figures such as Dr. Poul Thorsen, who worked with the CDC on 36 papers regarding autism and vaccines.

This is old news but some people need to be reminded of them.

Central Figure in CDC Vaccine Cover-Up Absconds With $2M
Posted: 05/11/2010 5:12 am EDT

A central figure behind the Center for Disease Control's (CDC) claims disputing the link between vaccines and autism and other neurological disorders has disappeared after officials discovered massive fraud involving the theft of millions in taxpayer dollars. Danish police are investigating Dr. Poul Thorsen, who has vanished along with almost $2 million that he had supposedly spent on research.

Thorsen was a leading member of a Danish research group that wrote several key studies supporting CDC's claims that the MMR vaccine and mercury-laden vaccines were safe for children. Thorsen's 2003 Danish study reported a 20-fold increase in autism in Denmark after that country banned mercury based preservatives in its vaccines. His study concluded that mercury could therefore not be the culprit behind the autism epidemic.

His study has long been criticized as fraudulent since it failed to disclose that the increase was an artifact of new mandates requiring, for the first time, that autism cases be reported on the national registry. This new law and the opening of a clinic dedicated to autism treatment in Copenhagen accounted for the sudden rise in reported cases rather than, as Thorsen seemed to suggest, the removal of mercury from vaccines. Despite this obvious chicanery, CDC has long touted the study as the principal proof that mercury-laced vaccines are safe for infants and young children. Mainstream media, particularly the New York Times, has relied on this study as the basis for its public assurances that it is safe to inject young children with mercury -- a potent neurotoxin -- at concentrations hundreds of times over the U.S. safety limits.

U.S. Congressman Compares Corruption in CDC's Vaccine Safety Studies to SEC's Handling of Bernie Madoff Scandal
Congressman Bill Posey Has Strong Words for Government Agency. Concludes: "I think the CDC Should Be Investigated."

AutismOne April 16, 2014 9:00 AM

WATCHUNG, N.J., April 16, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- In an April 8 interview on AutismOne's A Conversation of Hope radio show, Congressman Bill Posey's strong resolve and demands for transparency were evident as he discussed the Center for Disease Control (CDC)'s handling of vaccine safety studies which affect "our most precious resource in our nation – our children." The 30-minute interview, conducted by vaccine industry watchdog, PhD biochemist Brian Hooker, delves into what Posey called "the incestuous relationship between the public health community and the vaccine makers and public officials."

Photo - photos.prnewswire.com...

The Florida legislator, known as "Mr. Accountabililty," did not mince words when criticizing current and past CDC officials including indicted fraudster Dr. Poul Thorsen; CDC director turned Merck Vaccine President Dr. Julie Gerberding; and the agency's current spokesperson regarding autism and vaccines, Dr. Coleen Boyle.

On Thorsen, Posey said "If you read through the emails and learned about the meetings and the financial arrangement this crook had with the CDC, it will make you absolutely sick to your stomach. This was no casual researcher way down the line. This is the CDC's key man in Denmark. He was closely tied to the CDC's top vaccine safety researchers… as long as Thorsen was cooking the books to produce the results they wanted, they didn't care whether the studies were valid or how much money was being siphoned off the top…It's like the Security and Exchange Commission and Bernie Madoff. But it's worse because we're talking about someone who basically stole money that was supposed to be used to improve the health and safety of our most vulnerable in our society – our young babies."

Dr. Hooker remarked that Thorsen had collaborated with the CDC on 36 papers, not just one paper as claimed by Dr. Boyle, and that the agency refused to investigate studies exonerating vaccines' role in causing autism following his indictment on wire fraud and money laundering. Posey described Boyle as "intentionally evasive," in his questioning of her at a Congressional hearing. "I asked her a very direct question. 'Have you done a study comparing autism rates in vaccinated vs. unvaccinated children?...' She started telling us about everything she's done …After she wasted three minutes, I cut her off and I demanded that she answer the question. And then, only then, did she admit that the federal government has never done that very simple, fundamental, basic study."
...

finance.yahoo.com...

BTW, before some of you begin claiming "that man must be a liberal, or a democrat" Bill Posey is in fact a Republican. So this has nothing to do with politics at all, but has to do with the fraud that the CDC, and big pharma alongside some of their scientists have been participating in to exonerate vaccines with adjuvants, and compounds like ethyl-mercury.

First of all, what does "attenuated" mean?
It means that the virulent part of the pathogen is removed from tha pathogen.
This means that the actual virus itself is far more virulent than the part used in the vaccine and is therefore more harmful.
Basic biology.

Next, any chance you can cite your sources for the MMR causing autism in people with mitochodrial disorders?
Ensure you show the method of action too.

Also, since you cite Rubella as being a cause for autism, surely that means that being vaccinated against it would offer better protection than not being vaccinated and actually getting Rubella (since the harmful part of the virus is removed in the vaccine. See "attenuation" above.)?

As for Thorsen, as far as I can make out (i.e. I've looked at the studies he was involved in) he wasn't the leading author on the papers and his crime was financial fraud, not medical fraud.

And he wasn't involved in these at all.

Here's some more he wasn't involved in

First of all, it is obvious by now that you keep trying to derail the topic by taking comments out of context, and making claims which are not true. You have even claimed that the flu shots do not contain thimerosal and that is not true at all. in fact the multidose flu shots still do contain thimerosal.

Do the 2014-2015 seasonal flu vaccines contain thimerosal?

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved several formulations of the seasonal flu vaccine, including multi-dose vials and single-dose units. (See Table of Approved Influenza Vaccines for the U.S. 2014–2015 Season.) Since seasonal influenza vaccine is produced in large quantities for annual vaccination campaigns, some of the vaccine is produced in multi-dose vials, and contains thimerosal to safeguard against possible contamination of the vial once it is opened.

...On November 29, 2010, the US Court of Vaccine Compensation ruled in favor of his parents against unpersuasive arguments by the government. Elias’ case becomes quietly filed away in vaccine court archives with nearly 1,300 other vaccine brain injuries – none of them apparently being pooled for study. An undetermined number of them, like Elias’, involving autism diagnoses. But to win a case in the Vaccine Court, the condition, autism, cannot be cited.

Indeed, in an earlier report, CBS investigative reporter, Sharyl Atkisson, who had examined federal vaccine court decisions over the years, reported:

Children who end up with autistic symptoms or autism have won vaccine injury claims over the years-as long as they highlighted general, widely-accepted brain damage; not autism specifically. But when autism or autistic symptoms are alleged as the primary brain damage, the cases are lost.

The debate over the links between vaccines and autism – which is triggered by brain damage – is extremely contentious. The great majority of medical opinion contends that vaccines don’t cause autism. However, many of the same experts concede that vaccines can, in rare instances, cause brain damage.

For example, Dr. Brian Strom, of the University of Pennsylvania, who has served on Institute of Medicine panels advising the government on vaccine safety, says “the prevailing medical opinion is that vaccines are scientifically linked to encephalopathy, but not scientifically links to autism.

If so, why is the medical profession–including and especially, government health officials–so resistant to examining the problem and the evidence to ascertain what may be the cause of sudden developmental regression–emergence of autism– in previously healthy infants?

Why are doctors who do try to study the problem, regarded as pariahs?

Surely, the charade of turning a blind eye by deliberately obfuscating the terminology–i.e., putting the head in the sand as if to protect against the evil eye–is especially egregious within the context of legal proceedings whose purpose is to determine the medical-scientific merit of the arguments set forth by two parties to a dispute.

Who, exactly is being protected by the refusal of the medical profession to examine the possible link between childhood vaccines and autism, and by the Court to refuse to entertain the possibility that a connection may exist?

This issue is far from being settled.

Abstract

Between June 1993 and December 1996, 276 term newborn infants with encephalopathy and 564 randomly selected term controls were enrolled in a population-based study of moderate and severe term newborn encephalopathy (NE) in Western Australia. During comprehensive neurobehavioural and cognitive follow-up of all patients and controls at 3 years and again at 5 years of age we found an unexpected but strong association between NE and autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). A diagnosis of ASD by age 5 years was reached using criteria according of the Diagnostic Statistical Manual, 4th edition. Linking records to the Western Australian Disability Services Commission Register ensured that no child in the study with ASD was missed. By age 5 years, 37 (13.4%) infants with NE and one (0.2%) control had died. Among the 239 survivors of NE, 12 (5%) were diagnosed with an ASD. Of these, 10 (4.2%) met the full criteria for autism, one had pervasive developmental disorder-not otherwise specified, and one had Asperger syndrome. Among the 563 surviving controls, five (0.8%) were diagnosed with an ASD: three with autism, one with autism/possible Asperger syndrome, and one with Asperger syndrome. Compared with the controls, the children who had experienced NE were 5.9 times (95% confidence interval 2.0-16.9) more likely to have been diagnosed with an ASD.

Abstract: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurological disorder in which a significant number of the children experience a developmental regression characterized by a loss of previously acquired skills and abilities. Typically reported are losses of verbal, nonverbal, and social abilities. Several recent studies suggest that children diagnosed with an ASD have abnormal sulfation chemistry, limited thiol availability, and decreased glutathione (GSH) reserve capacity, resulting in a compromised oxidation/reduction (redox) and detoxification capacity. Research indicates that the availability of thiols, particularly GSH, can influence the effects of thimerosal (TM) and other mercury (Hg) compounds. TM is an organomercurial compound (49.55% Hg by weight) that has been, and continues to be, used as a preservative in many childhood vaccines, particularly in developing countries. Thiol-modulating mechanisms affecting the cytotoxicity of TM have been identified. Importantly, the emergence of ASD symptoms post-6 months of age temporally follows the administration of many childhood vaccines. The purpose of the present critical review is provide mechanistic insight regarding how limited thiol availability, abnormal sulfation chemistry, and decreased GSH reserve capacity in children with an ASD could make them more susceptible to the toxic effects of TM routinely administered as part of mandated childhood immunization schedules.

Abstract

The role of thimerosal containing vaccines in the development of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) has been an area of intense debate, as has the presence of mercury dental amalgams and fish ingestion by pregnant mothers. We studied the effects of thimerosal on cell proliferation and mitochondrial function from B-lymphocytes taken from individuals with autism, their nonautistic twins, and their nontwin siblings. Eleven families were examined and compared to matched controls. B-cells were grown with increasing levels of thimerosal, and various assays (LDH, XTT, DCFH, etc.) were performed to examine the effects on cellular proliferation and mitochondrial function. A subpopulation of eight individuals (4 ASD, 2 twins, and 2 siblings) from four of the families showed thimerosal hypersensitivity, whereas none of the control individuals displayed this response. The thimerosal concentration required to inhibit cell proliferation in these individuals was only 40% of controls. Cells hypersensitive to thimerosal also had higher levels of oxidative stress markers, protein carbonyls, and oxidant generation. This suggests certain individuals with a mild mitochondrial defect may be highly susceptible to mitochondrial specific toxins like the vaccine preservative thimerosal.

Did you get that last part or do you need me to point it out again?

I'll ignore the Geiers "study" which is self-referenced by them.
Never a good sign of robustness.

As for the second one, even though you quoted it twice you seem to have still missed what it means.
Look up the words "suggests" and "may be" and then come back to me when studies prove their hypotheses.
As that study doesn't prove anything whatsoever.

What is really ridiculous about hospitals forcing these requirements, who are not doing it to help anyone from getting the flu, but rather only jumping onboard the stupid bandwagon of political pressure coming from the Borg like mentality of political correctness which comes from the media who are parroting whatever idiotic ideals and notions their enablers are gibbering.

Artificial intelligence at it's best.

Of course you'll ignore studies... BTW, the "Geiers" weren't the only specialists who participated in that study, but of course you try to dismiss it by just mentioning 'the Geiers"... Just like you have ignored and dismissed every doctor, and researcher who refute your claims...

One more thing... The study in which the Geiers were a part of also referenced other research by other specialists. But again you ignored this and just claimed it was self referenced to only other studies of the Geiers...

The references given in that study include.

As for your second response... You asked me to post evidence in reference to my comment in which I wrote specifically...

Children, and adults who are pre-disposed to have a mitochondrial dysfunction can develop autism, or other neurological disorders after receiving the MMR vaccine.

Now you are trying to dismiss the evidence I provided because "the research suggests certain individuals with a mild mitochondrial defect may be highly susceptible to mitochondrial specific toxins like the vaccine preservative thimerosal.

Let me ask you something... Are you even remotely familiar with medical research?... The use of words like "the research/study suggests" and the word "may" are used in a lot of research studies, and the use of those words doesn't invalidate the results of such research...

Let me actually show some examples. Because it is more and more obvious that you have no idea what to do to try to dismiss the evidence provided here...

Do Exercise and Physical Activity Protect the Brain?

Exercise and other types of physical activity have many benefits. Studies show that they are good for our hearts, waistlines, and ability to carry out everyday activities. Epidemiological studies and some intervention studies suggest that physical exercise may also play a role in reducing risk for Alzheimer’s disease and age-related cognitive decline.

Mark Geier is a professional witness for people who have alleged vaccine injuries.
He designs studies to use as evidence.
Studies which reference previous studies he and his son have done with a couple of others in just to make them look sound.
The fact that he (they) use very little of the third party references seems to have passed you by.
If you can't see what's wrong with that then there's no hope at all for you.

Sorry, research studies which conclude with the words "may" and "could be" etc are precursors.
They need to be proven.
You know with words and phrases like "conclusive", "beyond reasonable doubt" etc.
The one you cited isn't proven and isn't conclusive.
Ever heard of false positives?

Keep on trying to confirm your bizarre beliefs.
It's getting easier and easier countering you.
