I truly do not know what to believe anymore. One thing is we cannot see their faces. The costumes cover them head to toe. Could be anyone. In any desert in the world. I've seen the beheaded heads. Not seen the actual beheadings. That's too gory to watch.

So.... I'm on the fence and will remain this way until I'm fully convinced one way or another. I've not watched the news lately to see families speaking.

Any chance these guys could pass by a FOXNEWS or CNN news room next time??

The vid is fake. Its just a propaganda piece. They want to provoke the USA into war. I wonder why?

I have seen beheading videos from Iraq from around 10 years ago, unedited footage, head sat of the back of the victim when they were done, hands binded with blood everywhere... Then we get to today's beheading's.. Gore edited out of the video's, what seems like a backdrop worthy of Hollywood, pretty calm people being beheaded with no trace of a cut to be seen. If this is ISIS's game, they are nothing compared to who was killing people a decade ago. The people seem more like actors than anything else. You should go check some of those beheadings from all those years ago, you will see what I mean.

We kind of have to assume they're real, given all of hte news about ISIS. It makese sense they're fanatical. Only thing I don't understand is how on Earth they think doing this will make any difference.

If they think this'll help their cause, they're not thinking clearly. This may not phase some people in the military who already know the enemy is nuts and heartless, but it'll reach the normal people better.

It'll cause more airstrikes not less.

I have some trust in Obama. I think Obama is doing everything he can to understand the situation. I think if escalating the conflict is the right thing to do, Obama will do it. I hope I am right about this.

My opinion is we went into Iraq and to some extent worsened the security of that region when we removed Saddam's security apparatus. It's a given that removing Saddam is why we did it, but it opened up the doors for others to create mayhem. So - to that extent - it's our responsibility to go back and give Iraq a hand to improve stability.

Can Iraq become like Afghanistan? A money hole? I don't know. But doing nothing is weak.

It's a messed up world we live in. We're a human family and we kill each other. Our DNA goes bakc to a relative few people. Like Carl Sagan said, everything that's our world, all our wars and all our kings and all our history has occurred on this small blue dot, anchored in a black, near endless sea filled with other dots. One only has to go out a short distance and the light of Earth fades and is enveloped in the starry blackness of space.

I challenge anyone to find a picture of an ISIS army with more than 30-50 people in it.

I can find pictures of every other supposed extremist group with hundreds or thousands... Hamas, Hezbollah, and Al Qaeda but none if ISIS. And they have supposedly conquered 35,000 square miles.

I really wish the people that are buying this crap would research beyond the graphic headlines.

Watch the video. There is no violence on it at all. Hence it is not a beheading video.

If these videos are fake, they are being used to gain support of massive amounts of killing.

The media know they can control how a lot of people think, and they use it against them, now more than ever.

I understand that we've been blocked from seeing the actual beheading and truthfully from my perspective, I'd rather not see the murder. I'm not into that kind of shock horror personally. You can't just make some blanket statement of "because I didn't see it, therefore it didn't happen" type of deal. That would be IMO ridiculous.

Let me ask you this. Have you ever, in your life, been in a situation where something wasn't quite right yet, you knew something was wrong with no proof to back up your "gut feeling"? Sure you have.

I know I have...more than I care to remember and this situation is one. Look, nobody wants to go into another country and mass murder people. That's insane and serves no purpose. Definitely, not a financial gain, if that's what's on your mind. There's no money to be made in this. This ain't the short term Gulf War nor the Iraq war or even Afgahanistan war.

What this is, is personal. You don't just get to chop peoples heads off, show it to the world, make a threat to the people and the President of the USA and walk around like you're Mahatma Gandi, pretending to fight for "freedoms", when in fact these monsters are just that...monsters. It don't work like that.

Sad!! It only hurts them? and others that may need truth to be told (Gaza) If the reporters are afraid to be there, the truth may be suppressed. In Iraq the USA bombed reporters and UN reps until they forced them to report from behind USA fighters. That way they would only be able to report what they were allowed to be exposed to. Israelis shot at reporters openly years ago in Gaza, not sure about recently. It is a probably to keep out reporters. I think ISIS does so much wrong that they don't want any reporting. In this case they may want to embed with other fighters. Maybe not though if the army looses for sure it is death them. It is messed up there! Would have been nice if USA and others would not have built them up to start with to overthrow the leaders of Libya and Syria. It always seems to worse after. Was not Iraq and others better off before USA intervened? The citizens there were better off for sure.

Why on earth would a relatively small terrorist group provoke the most powerful country in the world into intervening in a conflict that they seemingly want no part of?

Here in the UK we've recently had the BBC faking reports of atrocities in Syria to justify military intervention. They've been caught doing it, yet no action has been taken and the whole sordid affair has been swept under the carpet. Israel wants aggression on these countries and it wants its lackeys (UK and US) to do its dirty work.

Personally, i don't believe a word that comes from the media and neither should any of you.

agreed .. ISIS making threatening videos towards the U.S. is a massive joke .. threatening the U.S. is counterproductive to them .. beheading U.S. citizens on camera as some kind of tactic will only anger the U.S. into bombing them even more so why would ISIS even try this ? .. it .. does .. not .. make .. sense ..

and I second that last sentence .. so many lies have been told by mainstream news that why the hell would any of us be so quick to believe some of these stories without being skeptical ? .. The further destabilization of the Middle East. What did you know of Middle East conflict outside of Israel/Palestine before Bush Sr. First invaded Iraq? Nothing. It was peaceful because the leaders then needed to be hard liners because they were mostly secular. Then we continued the war, funded and trained the over throwing of Qaddafi, Hussein, Mubarak, and Assad to create organized chaos. Thus far only their Assad attempt failed and thus crested ISIS.

This was all part of their plan. It's for the expansion and protection of Israel, pillaging of oil to favored American companies, installation of new leaders that will bow to western powers, allow the installations of central banks, secure the dollar of international reserve currency, protect the dollar in oil trade, continue the defense profiteering, continue stripping citizens freedoms in the name of security, keep people afraid, and finally doing anything that suites their desires.

It is very obvious if you know the whole picture. Get to researching the points I made. Find out for your self.

Seriously? If ISIS are so smart and progressive, why are they provoking a powerful country into war by marching through Iraq killing people and putting it on the news so we know where they are to bomb them?

There was quite an outrage about this and many letters of complaint were sent to the BBC. They didn't reply to any of them because that would only acknowledge their crime. I was going to see my local MP about it but as they were obviously serving the government agenda i felt that it would be a waste of time.

The thing is, you can see straight through their lies and they don't seem to care.

Why are all terror tragedies alleged victims, survivors, or witnesses Jewish? Now James Foley and Steven sotlof are both Jewish and apparently beheaded.

Mossad agents? Would explain why they didn't kill them on video.
