When words fail me to properly explain my thoughts.
Good old internet.

What I view as "extremism".

Extremism (represented on both sides of the political spectrum) is an ideology (particularly in politics or religion), considered to be far outside the mainstream attitudes of a society or to violate common moral standards. In liberal societies, individuals or groups that advocate the replacement of democracy with a more authoritarian regime are labelled extremists; in authoritarian societies, those who espouse liberal ideals are labelled as extremists by the ruling class or government.

Extremists are usually contrasted with centrists or moderates. For example, in contemporary discussions in Western countries of Islam or of Islamic political movements, the distinction between extremist and moderate Muslims is typically stressed. Likewise, extremist Christians in countries such as the United States are frequently contrasted with moderate Christians.

Political agendas perceived as extremist often include those from the far left or far right, as well as radicalism, reactionism, fundamentalism, and fanaticism.

The term "extremism" is usually pejorative, but it is sometimes used in a purely descriptive sense, referring simply to a viewpoint that is inconsistent with existing norms, rather than implying that the extremist position constitutes a threat (to the society, government, mainstream morality, etc.).

Nah I'm good with a mug of coffee. I'll catch a nap later.

Got lots of calls to make today trying to catch up on everything I missed from the move. I hate phones and phone calls, especially nowadays when all it seems we get is put on hold and routed through the robots (press 1 etc.) Still if I can get it done then that's less to think about tomorrow.

It's good to see you made it back and all is well with you and your Mother. The relationship between me and my own mother is complicated, as it often is with mothers and daughters I suppose.

I never got the chance to thank you for the beautiful poem you shared with me after my last show. It captured so eloquently what I hope to be. I'd like to share one with you if you don't mind. It's called Keeping Quiet
by Pablo Neruda. When I feel the pull to retreat, and I often do, I turn to the poets and see than I'm not the first to have this occasional need and am most certainly not alone.

Except that Anders Brevik wasn't a Christian. He said so himself. If you read his manifesto, he only considered himself a Christian inasmuch as he considered himself a child of Western civilization and recognized that Western civilization was heavily influenced by Christianity. So he expropriated the label for himself, but actually held none of the true religious beliefs. He was more of a culture warrior.

So, when criticizing on not separating culture from religion, you turned around and did it yourself.

But yes, part of the problem is that Middle Eastern Islam is tightly wound around Arab culture which is also very problematic. Reading Brigitte Gabrielle, she acknowledges the issues with Arab culture growing up as an Arab Christian.

Well uugghh. So much for my super "cat nap" plan. More like the old crash and burn. I've had some sleep issues myself over the last year or so but I stopped thinking about them much. Now if I wake in the middle of the night I simply get up and go about and do whatever and then catch some sleep later.

Guess that didn't work this time as I think most of the day has been slept away. Dang.

And now I'm going to need more coffee.

Since I don't have a bra to burn I'll just have to throw old underwear on the bonfire or feel excluded and it will be a crushing blow to my psyche.

It must have been nice and cozy by the fireplace, a nap sounds amazing right now!

That's a good idea, laying in bed hoping that you'll eventually fall asleep is the worst. It feels like it just makes matter worse sometimes, doesn't help with shutting the brain off. I'm sure it will happen tonight and when it does, reading or writing might help slow things down enough to catch a few hours of sleep.

I go through periods of insomnia and periods of sleeping too much, it's frustrating as you are well aware I'm sure.

Burn those undies, burn em!! Lol!!

I can't afford to burn my bras. I need 'em for work. I did however skip through the house waving mine around in circles when I got home today. Will that do?

You get an "A" for effort, it's the thought that counts.

Did you want some musical accompaniment for the next skip through? Always glad to lend a mouse.

I'm sorry, why can't i get to Hernnado's during the day time when all the fun is happening?

First, Mrs. Guohua, just because your husband has been described as a Neanderthal doesn't mean he shouldn't have his fun as well. "Equal Rights for Neanderthals" is my cry.

Second it's a beer "mile," not beer smile. For a beer mile one needs a high school or college running track with 440 yards per lap. The contestants place five cans of beer at the starting point. At the start, each contestant takes a bottle (or can) of beer, opens it, drinks it, then demonstrates it's empty. He then proceeds to run a 440 yard lap. At the end of the lap he opens his next beer, drinks it and continues running. This is done a total of four times.

The fifth beer is in case he throws up during the mile, in which case he must consume the fifth beer and run an extra lap.

You can find more on this delightful sport at beermile.com The verified world record, run under official rules is 4 minutes, 57 seconds.
