And in this thread i believe i mentioned an "event" that has been witnessed at dugway pvg, the event was akin to a column of light, that seemed to cut through the cloud cover. This even also seems to have given off xrays and gamma radiation.
Could it have been a fusion drive based on a anuetronic fusion reaction.

511 keV gammas, at that.

No, that was something else totally. Although if you could pack around the stuff you need and didn't have a better way to do it, you could MAKE it into a space drive, although it would be awfully dangerous.

p-B11 emits energetic alphas. You can tap that directly to generate electrical power with no intermediate turbine. It's a bit tricky because the voltage is very high if you use all the energy you have, but if you had enough motivation to build a lot of these things, you could get past that by engineering for bulk production.

511kEV's? That's from Anti Matter/Matter reactions right?

Holy Crap.

As long as you don't break the laws of physics...isn't anything possible if you throw unlimited money and manpower at it?

Sometime I wish I had both

Seems like a lot of trouble to go through just to make a fog machine if you ask me.

I heard it was really supposed to be an industrial tanning machine the Gov was hoping to market to various tanning companies. kinda like a burning man in the desert but for those who want to get really, really good tans.

Thanks for the reply
I am certainly no expert in high energy physics, but for the life of me I can't think of any other application that would fit what was described of the dugway events, and it the idea somewhat fits with several ufo reports of missle like objects that had a exhaust of "light"

I'm sure if you think about it real hard it will dawn on you what it could be used for. So far on the table is Fog machine and industrial tanning device. Personally I think the Luxor hotel owner was talking to his general manager and was like, "damn it this light on top of our hotel is not bright enough, Make it BRIGHTER!!!!"

Well, think of it as the world's biggest cloud chamber demo. Or as the world's biggest open imaging chamber, if you had all the other parts to go with it. Maybe a undeveloped film eraser? The giant economy Hulk creation station?

Or you could put out trucks full of meat and dairy products, and bulk irradiate them.

It's a bit rough on camo dudes. (hat over heart)

eta: worse on Nork missile maggots, though. (moment of silence)

You got to give Junior credit, though, he had the nads to pull the trigger, then keep quiet about it.

That's one of the greatest ideas I've ever heard.

I keep wondering if there was some 'innocuous' naval testing going on a bit west of Australia that day.

Hey, if you don't have enough manpower to get really sweet ideas of what to do with your new SciFi weapon, you friggin' TELL everyone about it in the guise of a 'what-if' exercise. What would YOU do with (x) if you had it?

Then, of course, you classify all the replies and get rid of the seminar transcripts. Tada!

I forsee the angels of the prophet descending from a cloud in Raqaa, Syria to comfort the faithful and sterilize meat products.
