Any opinions on whether that is due to the number following, and activity or something more nefarious? I haven't been into twitter too much until lately. I have to manually refresh and get 4-5 minutes of tweets, seems to be running a bit behind too.

Everything has stopped. I tried retweeting some #Ferguson tweets, nothing. The hashtag has halted. This is unprecedented.

Unless someone is actually live streaming data as they record it, they may want to put phones into airplane mode while recording. Think about the technology which ATS threads have covered on here for scanning, "interrogating" and locating or triangulating phones. It could be a way they focus. This situation would have all the high tech stuff.

As per hashtags, Twitter is working fine for me so no problem on there, then again it could be

Let 'em go at it...they want to, they will. I imagine the police presence is partly to enforce safety and protection of personal property, course I could be wrong. They may just be out there doing their jobs as Peace Officers. You have a town ready to tear it up because of human error....destroy the whole town then. To err is human, unfortunately.

Twitter.com is showing old tweets, nothing new is coming through on apps that show realtime updates to #ferguson. Other hashtags are working fine. Nothing is coming through, not even retweets.

These are from this evening. It's more than surreal IMO. One might think that this was not America if it weren't for the clothing and the surroundings.





Why would those in the second picture need to peacefully protest in this way (hands up) in America? Why would anyone in this nation need to stand like they are already under arrest when they are peacefully assembling and protesting??
