Really, how does stealing anything not nailed down fix this situation? It doesn't. They're not starving, there's no natural disaster that rendered their foodstock gone, you can't eat Nikes. It's not like looting was to remedy a life or death situation for the looters. They're stealing because they can get away with it right now, and that's all there is to it. Opportunistic things.

Anybody who thinks this kind of behavior is justified as a mass outburst will never get any real respect, and will certainly never be listened to when they speak out. Why should I listen to people who think B & E & robbery is acceptable behavior just because they're mad at authorities? Bleep 'em, the prison system can have 'em.

Anger towards the police is justified. Looting is not. It is counterproductive and hurts more than helps. What started out as a peaceful protest. Has turned into a lot of people who, probably were not even at the protest, to start looting, when the police got heavy handed. Its sad cause now all we will hear is about the looting. Not what proceeded it.

Personally, I honestly think it's the divorce culture/ lack of parenting... Teenagers are retarded, I have one atm... I have to put a lot of effort (or had to until this point) to see he actually understands what lifestyle is "real" and what isn't... there's an IQ factor which makes it easier, but none the less... we have no parental guidance as a culture.

I mean seriously, i see guys in there 30's and 40's whose "persona" is like something out of HS, everyone living and dressing like some moronic persona from the TV

Per Capita... we have more people who emulate "characters" and Entertainment than any nation on Earth... And i'm not talking Cosplay lol, I'm talking grown women who want to be like sex in the city, kids who want to be thugs, men who take 2 karate classes and think they are Chuck Norris... God damn most people think that sex is like porn for crying out loud...

I do not know if it is divorce culture. I am divorced and I raise my son just fine and try to instill in him all the values and smarts you talk about. Yet lack of parenting is a huge problem in this country. So is everything else you stated. So I agree there.

We only riot in Canada when the NHL playoffs don't go our way... Oh, and when Cabbage Patch Kids came out. Dropping them from helicopters to masses of people 2 weeks before Christmas was not the best idea.

But even in 2 parent homes... I don't know. People are self obsessed, loose track of what matters in life... The "raising" part isn't there, it's done by a mediocre education system and communication devices.

Parenting is a full time job
