Which 3 people are you talking about here? 3 Israeli kids were killed. That isn't what this is about. Some Israelis turned vigilante and burned a Palestinian kid alive in retaliation. That was two evils equaling horror on a stick.

It still wasn't a war yet.

It became one when Hamas decided this would be the perfect time to launch some rockets. Then they became hundreds. Now, they are thousands again. Just like the last Gaza conflict. Israel wouldn't be there if they had not started shooting rockets and shown rockets weren't all they had now. Now they come with true missiles going as far as 100 miles up-country.

That makes Hamas a serious force. Now it seems they will be treated like one. They may truly come to regret the change they forced in the balance with the long range warheads.

Artillery to the East, Israeli tanks and troops to the north, east and south, naval gunfire from the sea. The IDF air force and drones buzzing incessantly overhead. Where to run, the "Gazans" live in a prison with thirty foot walls, no mans land and barb wire with towers and machine guns. The place is sealed, there is no place to evacuate to.

If the "citizens" of Gaza had one tank, one ship, one runway, one fighter jet it would be bombed to shreds in moments. As it is all they are able got do is piss on trays and dry it in the sun, mixing urea nitrate with sugar to power their piss and sugar bottle rockets in some kind of vain protest towards their oppressive occupiers, hoping to hell they fall outside the fence and maybe hit something.

What defense, what threat? The "Gazans" are as much a threat as the jews in the Warsaw Ghetto during WWII. Is that where they learned this behavior?

Hamas has launched over 2,100 rockets and missiles in the past 15 days according to this article.

That is also one of the first times I have both heard the Israelis publicly nervous about what they have discovered and outright respectful for the Hamas fighters. A few lines describe miles of interconnecting tunnels and facilities built with concrete and up to 30 meters below grade.

Now you say if Hamas had a tank or a jet fighter, as if they need that to be a dangerous threat. If the North Vietnamese had a battleship, the Gulf of Tonkin would have been an American memorial not a nexus of conspiracy theory. The NVA and Viet Cong still managed to fly their flag over the American embassy a decade or so later as the victors of their fight. The equipment of war doesn't define the threat, as Israel may have just stumbled across.

As far as the "cost", its measured in bullets for the IDF and shovels for the Gazans. But I understand the need to quell the natives as it were. I do it to the roaches in my backyard. Every few weeks I place the bait motels around to knock back the population… nothing personal.

I suppose we can refuse the concept all we'd like and they aren't recognized in every sense at this stage of history. However, the United Nations have formally recognized them and Palestine is what they call the place. Have the major events of today caused us to so quickly forget the major events so recently?

So yeah, they really do exist and many other nations do give the courtesies of formal diplomacy to their State which isn't quite a full state yet. I'm no personal fan of the Palestinians, but I think accuracy is important for credibility in all this, and credit where it's due. The PLA, especially, have accomplished some very important goals in recent years.

Yeah, I remember the thread. It seems more like 10 years ago then just a couple years for the amount which has changed in the world and our nation since. No, I haven't watched any live coverage. I have no desire to be a spectator to the killing of people I have nothing personal against. I can see how and why others do. I don't, and really just want to see a solution found. A real one.

Hamas is unique in the powers involved here for having a mission charter to obliterate another. That has to change and it must be addressed. Israel can't even shoot flachette rounds without world headlines (I have a few boxes of in my safe, to be blunt about things, as they aren't illegal here), yet Hamas can be dedicated by CHARTER to the death and removal by force of all Israeli presence in that land and it's no biggy in the big picture, it seems.

A real solution needs to come, but I'm not sure I can see how Hamas can fit into that. The PLA is half way to the right end already, but Hamas is dedicated to their own charter statement. Those are mutually exclusive goals, IMHO.

They knew there were civilians there. They knew this was a UN safe zone. This is a war crime. Make any excuse you want. I've already seen the "Hamas had rockets there". I've yet to see any proof of this. And of course it's the old fall back for defending Israels genocide.

Israel could destroy a nursery school with nothing but children in it.. and would somehow try and defend itself by saying "Hamas". The world is tired of this. Very... very tired. IF there were missiles in there, the IDF could have sent in troops to take them. There was ZERO need to bomb the place.. unannounced. Now I know, every Israeli supporter will respond to this, blaming Hamas.. saying there is no such place as Palestine, etc etc etc. Stop... just stop. There is an article on CNN about this attack.. and how surprising, all comments have been closed. So no one can speak out. Every anti-Israeli protest is labeled as a bunch of "nut case terrorist supporters who turn violent". We see politician after politician bend over for its Israeli masters. We will NEVER hear a single politician speak out against Israel. When our so called "celebrities" do it.. they are immediately slammed as "anti-Semitic" and literally destroyed in the media. So we can't voice our opposition. But people are getting real tired of this.

Israel's tactic of claiming to be the victim is starting to fail. People are starting to see the reality. Remember.. ISRAEL decided to go into Gaza. So ISRAEL is responsible for the deaths of its soldiers. Just as all you Israel supporters claim Hamas is responsible for all these children's deaths. I for one have no sympathy for the IDF. You reap what you sew.

I just want to know.. at what point is ANY country in this world going to step up and defend the Palestinians? Turkey has.. with words. Some others have with ejecting Israeli ambassadors. But someone of some power needs to speak up and tell Israel ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

This is such a sad, sick war going on over there. It's completely out of balance. It's like a pro baseball team going up against little league in terms of capability. Just look at the score and you will know that it's true: dead/injured Israelis vs dead/injured Palestinians.

Hamas keeps firing rockets? Well, Team Israel, all they ever do is strike out anyway. Then you send in your heavy hitters and you ALWAYS hit home runs. Good for you-- take those snotty-nosed Hamas brats out of the game for good. Whatever. But you unabashedly kill off scores of unsuspecting spectators-- who are innocent, stranded, and cannot get through the gates and away from the horrors that come of your crushing victories.

Nobody can directly link the school from the reports because the name of the school is not in any of them. If can be heavily inferred that it was the correct school as it was a UN school in the town and the UN directly addressed reports of missiles being found in a UN school in the town. Not sure how many UN schools this town has but it is not a large town so could not be many. Town is named Beit Hanun.

Ok...so now direct quotes from the UN about missiles being in the schools in the town are not good enough? Sorry but it isn't like they have a GPS tracker that locates them when they move. Israel struck a target that had Hamas weapons and fighters at some point within the last 2 days. The fact the UN and Hamas shielded this with civilians is sad but could very well have been avoided. This was a deliberate move by them to smear Israel. Neither side is right but to sacrifice innocents is completely wrong, and that is exactly what the UN and Hamas did. Do you think these guys don't have PR teams leading the strikes they make? It is the same thing with the whole ma17 flight crap....the pro Russian Ukrainian leader actually started and owns a massive PR firm. It's all about public perception.
