they should have let us read the bill before it was passed!!

Didn't his Emperorship make some goofy since-broken campaign promise about making a bill available for the public to see for a certain amount of time before the Congress voted on it???

that's great.....let's all give a middle finger to those that can't afford medical insurance....if you are poor and/or sick...tough cookies, you are on your own. poor people just need to go away and die.

This is a common falacy, and tactic that was used to again, blind people to the truth of the law, and guilt them into buying something they could not afford.

Think about the chillrun!

Fact is, no one in this country has ever been denied healthcare at a hospital when truly in need. That is what you are already taxed for.

Look at your W2. It has deductions for Medicaid and Medicare. The government needs to stop using that money for non-healthcare pork barrel projects.

Fact, emergency room visits have increased under the ACA, by almost double.

Fact, the majority of people that signed up on exchanges already qualified for Medicaid and Medicare.

Fact, the only denials of helathcare BEGAN under the ACA. See the Death Panel stories. People have signed their lives over to a government decision making panel.

Fact, insurance rates have doubled in most cases, even trippled in some cases, under the ACA.

Fact, "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your policy, you can keep your policy." was a lie. More people are now uninsured or underinsured under the ACA, than before.

Well there were plenty of warnings form many sources.

All were shot at by the supporters.

Well?

Now be careful what else the White House and all supporters say.

Consider the opposite as always.....

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the ruling—for now—"does not have any practical impact" on premium subsidies issued to HealthCare.gov enrollees now. "

"We are confident" that the ruling will be overturned, Earnest said. "We are confident in the legal position we have . . . the Department of Justice will litigate these claims through the federal court system."

Earnest said "it was obvious" that Congress intended subsidies, or tax credits, to be issued to Obamacare enrollees regardless of what kind of exchange they used to buy insurance.

Yet the subsidies were only available for policies bought on an exchange.

Does not apply to people who bought from independent brokers or to anybody with employer paid insurance even if you had to make partial payments.

So much for Congressional intent eh.

ACA is very discriminatory isn't it.

Fabulous! Millions of people going without health care in the states where Republican governors refused to expand Medicare and allow there citizens subsided health care, and Republicans are dancing in the streets.

Corporations are people and Big Pharma and insurance companies care about YOUR health. /sarcasm

Well, we'll see who's dancing come election season. I see a Democratic White House for decades into the future.

Thanks for the chart. I had seen it before, but it was excellent to place it in this thread.

The WH has already responded, and they are "confident" this ruling will be overturned.

The only way they can be so confident is that they already have, or plan on having, a judge in place in a higher court, to hear the appeal.

There is just one problem. You cannot go into the back room, Reid and Pelosi style, and just rewrite portions of the law 38 times!! because you made operational errors. They just go in, change the text, and replace that page.

That is NOT how laws are written, nor, how errors in laws that are already passed, is handled. At least not until Obama.

The functional error of this law was discovered almost immediately, and Reid and Pelosi had a late night law rewriting party to "repair" the penalty errors. Thing is, the law was already published.

Then, they had the IRS release a public statement, pay the penalties, or else.

This boils down to extortion by the government, knowingly forcing people to do something, which, by their own law, was not required. They lied to the public, who had to just read that text. Not all 2000 pages. Just one.

Oh come on Jimmy, Knock it off. You know as well as I do that this is a good thing, the law as it was passed stinks! They had the votes in place to pass a single payer system that, much like Social Security, would have been able to pass court challenges. This law needs to go.

single payer?...of course, but I'm a realist, and the right in this country will not let that happen. they are actively trying to get rid of social security, Medicare, unions, food stamps, unemployment insurance, etc....anything where taxes are being distributed to the underclass. it's a class war, and the wealthy and corporate are winning. a new survey was released where it shows that the top 1% own 37% of the worlds wealth in America, worldwide, they own 39%
en.wikipedia.org...
blogs.wsj.com...
the wealthy are in full control, and looking for more ways to suck assets away from the underclass. no amount of rhetoric changes the hard numbers.

You're forced to buy a corporate policy, or pay a fine and now they are going to pull subsidies for people that couldn't afford it to begin with?

Well, I guess they are just useless eaters and should just die anyway. They don't need healthcare. Right?

Anyway, I can't wait until we pull our heads out of our collective asses and go to a universal or single-payer system so that we no longer have to worry about this sort of crap.

If the stroke doesn't kill her, she will continue to lie about the law, and say that is not what it says. But, it did, before they rewrote portions, and republished, hoping no one would notice.

Thankfully, people downloaded the original law. This makes these little sneaky backroom changes transparent, since our government is not.

I kind of disagree that you can go into any emergency room and get treatment.
first they are only required to give emergency care.
second even if it was true you will still receive a bill... and that bill will be much more than if you just went to see your doctor!

but I've got to say
Obamacare did nothing to help in this area
I hope that this puts it out of it's misery!!

Try reading the actual facts.

No one is forced, in the 36 states, nor can they be penalized.

Enough with the dramatics. No one has ever been denied healthcare at a hospital that truly needs it, especially the needy. We have programs in place already, which workers are already taxed for, called Medicaid and Medicare.

A majority of the people that signed up on the exchanges already qualified for those programs, and a majority of those that signed up were placed in those programs.

This is the direct result of Congress passing and a President signing an unConstitutional law to begin with.

They were oh-so-confident too at the time weren't they !!

The Democrats are going to have to pay for the boondoggle they own now.

Don't know what Republicans will do now either.

The entire concept is insane.

Passing one law at a time to address one issue at a time might have worked.

They blew it bigtime.

That would be why they call them "emergency rooms". They are required to provide emergency care and to stabalize a patient. They are often abused as walk in clinics for minor issues, qhich was overwhelming the system.

Yes, you will still get a bill, at a much higher rate, than if you had just gone ti a doctor.

The fact is, people abuse emergency rooms, use them to obtain drug prescriptions for narcotics, and plan on never paying the bills. Hence, most hospitals now either do not give narcotic prescriptions, or, only enough for one or two days, until you can get to a doctor.

The abuse of emergency rooms has increased, almost by double, since the passage of the ACA.

If you are truly needy, and truly need emergwncy medical care, you will immediately have a social worker assigned to your case who will then obtain emergency Medicaid, and if you qualify, emergency Medicare.

No one is denied treatment in any emergency room in the US, if they TRULY need emergency care.

If they have the money to pay the bill, they should, and if not, many social services are, and always have been, available.

Again, this is a common scare tactic that was used to guilt people into buying into this lie.

Please don't help foment it.

All liberals live in some kind of fantasy that the poor can no longer get health care. They have always had it just ask any illegal in California, they know the law better than anyone they have better advocates. The solution as you say remains, they made a law telling hospitals they can't turn down anyone that walks into ER. Thats why the wait is so long in CA. the ER are over crowded from BS colds and flu by illegals.

Not being dramatic. I was mocking a specific group of people that talk and think like that.

A majority of the people that signed up on the exchanges already qualified for those programs, and a majority of those that signed up were placed in those programs.

Those are not the people I was referring to. My concern lies with the people that do not make enough to afford insurance and didnt qualify for medicare/medicaide but will now lose any subsidy they may have been able to get to buy insurance.

The ACA may be the biggest pile of garbage we have seen in a while, but at least it opened up the insurance market to people that couldn't afford it before by subsidizing certain people's plans.

Like I said, I will have to read up a bit more on this.

i disagree. This has everything to do with a "Do Nothing Congress" who's, when comes to passing bills and, you know, doing their job and stuff, motto is "Just Say No".

It's about the GOP long term strategy of shutting down the federal government when they don't get their way.

Some people in America don't believe in democracy, equality, equity, or the American Dream for anyone other than the 1%, those people are called Republicans.

For comparison because MediCaid could be a real factor now.

But that's only if somebody "qualifies" as dirt poor I think in most States anyway.

Keep in mind people who actually bought policies on an exchange must have had some money to begin with.

The subsidies and credits went well into Middle-Class income levels didn't it?
