Amanda and Hope are two women who were swept up in the Alabama judiciary’s zeal to promote an anti-choice personhood agenda at the expense of pregnant women, by redefining the word “child” in Alabama’s chemical endangerment statute, so that it now applies to pregnant women who use any amount of controlled substances, whether prescribed by a doctor or not.

they don't want the boss to pay for their birth control!
They want the birth control included in their insurance like any other health issue is!!

again you addressing the wrong crowd!! We are not talking about the many many that our taxdollars but birth control for we are talking about working women or the dependents of working me. Why should they have to pay out of pocket when they have insurance that pays for a myriad of needless items like VIAGRA??

Just read any of the male vs female threads on ATS -- they give great perspective of how some men hate and fear strong, independent women in power.

If you are strong and independent then why not pay for your own B.C out of pocket instead of demanding a company pay for it?

That's really not the point. In CA I can go to a free clinic. But, that is not the point.

Forcing religious belief is the point.

There's actually a lot of crap going on, in several states, to take away women's personal rights to their body and reproductive choices.

It's ongoing, just like the continuing fight to overturn Roe vs Wade. These people are group organized by religious faith and have no intention of letting up.

Fighting back against Hobby Lobby is very, very important. No matter how long it takes, someone has to keep the pressure on to reverse this.

Found a list of drugs that are dangerous to the baby.

www.medicinenet.com...

The christian right don't like birth control..
They don't like abortion.
They believe that the husband should have the final say about everything..
And well if you have a disease or illness and take a prescribed drug to treat it and it adversely affects the baby you should be convicted of murder!
I guess that if you are a cancer victim with a sex addicted husband you can count on either dying of cancer or facing a murder charge if you happen to get pregnant!!!

na.. this is much more than just about one little company and four methods of birth control!

Yes. It's really insane.

And sadly, there are many women in Fundamental Religion who support this oppression of women's freedom of choice.

If I may be so bold.
I just hope all those who are being effected by this true injustice will remember who has been behind it since it began.
I don't think I need to name names but they are the same ones who have wanted to defeat any and all health care from its beginning.
I really do get a good laugh when I hear someone talk about the government "taking over health care".

The Affordable Care Act is actually little more than guidelines for minimally acceptable heath care insurance policies. This is why all those insurance plans were cancelled after Obama said,"If you like your plan, you can keep it."
The plans were supossed to simply expire and not be offered again because they did not meet the standards set out by the ACA. By cancelling them the insurance companies "knowingly" put Obama in a bad light.
There are parts of the ACA which apply to women and parts which apply to men, but these parts are all written out in the policies which adds to the confusion. A man does not need contraceptives, but his policy will have references to them. A woman does not need prostate exams, but this is also listed in her policies. All it takes is to read the policy as it applies to you.

Of course, there are those who make it their "mission in life" to cause as much confusion as possible on any issue they don't like.
For any other administration the ACA would have stood out as a political triumph, but not for a Democrate or someone who TPTB have already decided to make a failure. Even if they have to distroy the rest of the country to doit.

I agree with you.

Oppositions to the ACA are mostly manufactured and stupid.

It's as simple as, I own a company, and I don't support birth control. I will not buy it or use it. If you want to work for me, I will pay you money, and I will provide health insurance, but I will not provide birth control. I also won't provide you with a ride to work, food to eat, or shoes to wear. That is your responsibility- not mine, and not the governments.
Food and shelter is provided for in the form of donations by these same companies.
It is most likely the core belief of people who desperately seak to force people into providing this coverage that sex and identity are closely related, or identical. Sex is power after all- and refusing to pay for sexual accessories for individuals really limits a person's self worth.

No, it is not that simple.

What right do you have to force your belief on women?

Insurance is insurance ---- for the individual insured. Their healthcare is none of your business.

The biggest problem with the Hobby Lobby decision is there have been many, many Religious Belief lawsuits that have been shut down.

The HL decision blows the doors wide open for more lawsuits of Religious control.

The anti-gay people are already jumping all over this.

Oh, of course. You must force everyone by law to believe as you do.

Atheists are growing in number and becoming better organized. They have jumped into this too.

More lawsuits.

or maybe, just maybe, it's someone who managed to hurt herself years ago somehow. And that person rung up enough medical bills without ever getting a diagnosis. Ended up having to quit that job when she started literally falling down at work and thus lost the insurance that she got through work. and maybe just maybe that person had to sit and do absolultely nothing while the condition continued to deteriorate till bones snapped in two and then the nice surgeon tried to deny her care without an insane down payment! And maybe this person knows for a fact that none of their danged social programs would help her claiming that her family made enough money to pay for the care while she only ate three or four meals a week wanting to make sure that her three kids got enough! and also maybe that person managed to reenter the workforce a few years later only to find herself in the same spot! Running up medical bills while doctors screwed around till the bills again became overwelming even with insurance and she found that it was costing more to maintain her health enough to continue working than she made and she so she again just dropped out of the workforce and lost the insurance! and maybe now this person is just a tad bit irked because the only way she could get insurance without putting the family in a financial bind would be to go back to work and live her life in sheer agony while never making enough money to get the medical attention she needs!
Maybe just maybe this person is rather annoyed with the idea that she is supposed to kill herself working and going without the crap she needs while the gov't taxes the heck out of her so your low paid workers will have all the healthcare that they need, take their snotty nosed kids to the doctors to find out it's just a cold, leave their danged windows open in the winter to air the place out, and oh ya let's not forget about the free cell phones!

I accepted my fate! I've lived outside of the healthcare system content to know that I was no longer playing the game and working my arse off so others can have! only to have the danged gov't come in and say oh no no! you need the insurance although it won't do you any good! Even if you have to go back to work and make the situation worse!

Maybe she's just had enough of the bull all the way around.
but oh ya...
poor poor hobby lobby! has to provide health insurance that include birth control!
ya know how I figured out that I was past menopause?
that's if I even am.
my period stopped around the same time as I broke my ankle. I thought I was pregnant. I was so ticked off at my husband, at the gov't, and at society I told my husband that I thought I was and I didn't plan on going to the doctor for it and by god when it came time he could deliver the baby! Nine months later I finally decided that hey more than likely I wasn't pregnant. it wasn't till I got back to work that I actually saw a doctor for anything.
We just took it for granted that I was in menopause at an early age.

So maybe that will explain why I am here arguing with people over this!

Now I am tired of the insults and the bull!! hobby lobby doesn't have to pay for the birth control coverage along with what will probably be many more companies.. The cost will instead probably get shifted to the taxpayers. I will be content with my original decision. I avoid your healthcare system and yous can forget about me chipping in to help pay the cost for others! And no I will not work a job I am physically unable to do and run up a more in medical bills every year than I can earn in that year!!! And I will not be paying any fine for not having it. If they want to force the issue will they can throw me in jail for all I care!
And I still won't be paying for anyone else's healthcare or birth control or food or rent!!
They are not my danged employees!! May I suggest the employers pay them enough to have these needs met or just let them suffer through the consequences of their unwillingness to do so!

Really?

If this Hobby Lobby decision isn't about women and their rights, I don't know what is.

I'm a woman. What I see is using religion to oppress women.

Who do you think is going to be fighting this ridiculous decision?

Could that be very angry feminists? (and their supporters). BINGO!
