As for those saying these images are some kind of artifact.......so the guys saw some lens artifact in the sky and decided to take a picture of it??? Four technicians saw the lens artifact in the guys camera on his viewscreen??? Give your head a shake and try again.

Four people can't look at a photo on a camera?

And we don't have a proper witness testimony in this case because the "witnesses" apparently want nothing to do with it.

The only facts regarding the photos that we have are that four photos were taken, roughly one per minute, over a period of three minutes.

That seems a bit strange considering the one bit of witness testimony that we do have states that the object was observed over a period of "over one hour" or "a couple of hours", depending which source you believe.

Why not take more photos? Why not take a video?

Why didn't the investigators ask any of these questions? Why didn't they visit the site to find out exactly where the pics were taken?

I can tell you for free that I would do a much better job of investigating than any of these three "researchers". In fact it seems I already have, and I have had a lot less than six months!

We don't know what they saw or didn't see because they're anonymous so we nor anyone else can ask them , more information is needed but without that information all we can do is judge on the evidence provided.

The story itself comes from a second hand source not the person who took the pictures and even that source wishes to remain anonymous so we have a story from an anonymous guy who was told a story by an anonymous guy.

This case has hoax written all over it only those blinded by belief can't see that , the picture is a reflection and the story is bunk.

Watched the video, thanks for posting it. The photos themselves could have been doctored, but after watching the video the ufo was real and authorities in Chile haven't been able to identify what it was. It hovered for 2 hours. That's a very long time.

So why were all four photos taken in the space of three minutes?

As for the Chilean authorities, this is the same group that announced that a load of flying insects were "UFOs", and a few years before that went on TV to report a "UFO" that was the moon.

So I think we can place their "analysis" skills firmly into the remedial school level.

No the guy or guys saw the reflection on the window facing the mountains and thought WOW that could fool the simpletons.

It stinks of hoax or at least from what Rob48 has shown the investigation and what it concluded by the CEFAA is a joke.

That's a lightbulb. You can tell from the other dark reflections on the glass

These are just stealth drone US technology spying on South and Central American countries.

These countries are "exposing" pics and stuff under the guise of UFO files as a proxy way of establishing they're being spied on and so they can say "Ha! see!" when the # hits the fan down the line Snowden style.

Okay. Having looked at this one a little closer, I'm leaning toward the idea that it's a tiny chip in the windshield. I think the thing that illustrates this most clearly is the slight curve in the upper left "beam" coming off the thing. The slight curve would suggest that the sparkle is following the contour of a windshield, since it wouldn't do such a thing in the air.

Another thing that makes me think it might be a chip in the windshield. Prism effect. It could also be a JPEG artifact, though. But it is suspicious.

I don't know about the other image. But apparently not too many people seem to care that they don't appear to be the same shape at all. "Morphing!" Yeah, sure.

More evidence that CEFAA are a bunch of jokers:

According to them, this shows a "stealth UFO" twice the size of the Chilean National Stadium. (The small orange thing shown in the enlargement, that is.) Stealthy because the photographer didn't see it.

Anybody who has ever used a camera will see that this is a lens flare. Even the ufologist who submitted to them thought it probably was. But CEFAA say it is real!

So, CEFAA: fooled by bugs, fooled by the moon, fooled by lens flare. Why wouldn't a reflection on a window get past them too?

Again with the one pic per minute. Seriously, I appreciate your scrutiny but as far as debunking the event I find this "only four photos??" notion a weak platform for you to stand on.

And how long was it claimed to be there?

The poster electric universe above said they watched a video and it was claimed it hovered for 2 hours, is that correct?

If so don't you think that 3 or 4 photos over a 4 minute period is a bit strange for a craft hovering in one place for a couple of hours?

I remember reading somewhere that certain south American and India military and diplomats have concluded that we are likely being 'scouted' by other highly intelligent lifeform(s).

Maybe I just lost something in translation. I can not find those stories written in English anymore.

This is just one of many reasons I greatly admire Chile's and many other South American countries policies as they relate to ufo's. If they see something that can't be explained away, they will call it a bona fide unidentified flying object. It would appear they do not have the many layers of secrecy and government agencies and sub agencies that we do.

You admire government agencies who embarrass themselves by going public calling insects, lens flares and even the moon "unidentified crafts"?

I don't find that admirable at all. I think it makes them look like a laughing stock.

well to be fair I can think of quite a few incidents/sightings that have taken place in the U.S. here, say the Stevenville Tx. lights incidents for example, from quite a few years back, where many witnesses saw military fighters chase the object(s), but when the local Air Force Base was contacted for their comment/opinion, the reply would go along the line of " we had no aircraft in the sky". Same setup with the famous Phoenix lights incident. I mean really, now who is the laughing stock?

Well that is a different matter. Claiming not to be carrying out exercises when they clearly were does not aid credibility, but military security yadda yadda yadda.

But going public calling reflections and bugs UFOs is a whole different magnitude.

I did a quick search found what could be the same ...whatever it is, Chile 2009:

Same colors, pretty much, same shimmering light, same country..possibly the same size (10m)

my sighting during the summer of 2011 was exactly like this one, though the craft i saw was much smaller. or perhaps it appeared smaller because of farther distance and altitude, idk. i really think twice before jumping to conclusions and seeking ways to debunk any single claim since then.

Well, that particular image is without doubt just a reflection of the camera flash, as I showed in this post.

So even if you saw something that looked similar, it wasn't like this one.

I agree. Sometimes I enjoy debunking stuff on ats, but imo knee-jerk de-bunking reactions just because a certain thread has popularity gets both repetitive and boring. Especially when people grasp at any straw they can lay their hands on and repeat their unfounded "proofs" over and over and over...

I say give this one some time. This story has gotten so big that I'd bet the witnesses will come forth. They probably had no idea it would become such a big story, just four guys on the job.

Also why did they not use the ZOOM the camera had a 3 times optical zoom

When will someone who has a QUALITY CAMERA and KNOWS how to use get a picture of a ufo or is the answer to that self explanatory
