Absolutely, this should be done!

Just like they have child resistant packaging for alcohol and cigarettes and...

Wait a minute...

ETA: Also just as important, listing active ingredients, a long with proper lab testing for products, will ensure high quality and keep the less than honorable business owners from peddling pot that could kill you if grown improperly, using the wrong chemicals or a range of other issues.

Could you please show me one example of this?
Or hell show me one example of this Goddess given plant EVER killing at all?
As far as "improperly" growing, I'd think most things that might kill you would kill the plant as well, or are you speaking of something I'm not comprehending?
The ingredients should list: calcium, magnesium, sunshine, dirt traces and sticky icky goodness!

Various moulds grow on the herb in non sterile environments and if not dried properly which can cause deadly lung infections. I've heard of people being hospitalised for Nitrogen poisoning from smoking/eating pot that hasn't been 'flushed' properly and here in the UK the standard hash, soapbar, is about 5% weed, 95% bulking agents like diesel, glue, henna, vinyl, beeswax etc... that no one has a clue what it does to the body as scientists never thought people would be stupid enough to smoke old vinyl records.

Testing is a good thing as it'd weed out the bad growers and criminal types.

And it begins. This is why there will always exist a black market for pot.

1. The state will tax the heck out of it.

2. They will regulate the heck out of it.

And while you may all applaud it now, between 1 and 2, the cost of legal pot and its effects will soon be unlike what you really want, so the black market will flourish to supply the "real" thing for an "affordable" price.

Depends what state your in.

If you live in Arizona and live 25.1 miles away from the nearest dispensary you can grow your own I believe it's 12 plants at a time as long it's in a secure locked area.

The regulations here are also pretty light they approved the sale of concentrates and most companies cant fire you if you test hot for mmj users unless you work in safety sensitive jobs and I see no problem with that.

. Doctors are incredibly stingy with narcotics, where are these doctors pushing them on people? Because there is a huge number of people actively searching for such doctors with zero luck. If they exist, they are few and far between.
Thats just flat out not true, at least from my personal experience. Ive had a harder time finding doctors who wanted to actually TREAT problems as opposed to those who just throw narcotics and antibiotics as them willy nilly.

Narcotics are ridiculously easy to come by.

I'd never use commercially grown stuff.

it's actually unlikely that the industry will be able to support large scale industrial production, because people are always going to want variety. I don't see any particular company, even tobacco being willing to sell so many different products at a time, and to consistently change those based on market wants.

if anything they will grow very low quality in high amounts and undercut the local growing operations and their high quality products. Idiots will always buy stuff cheaper regardless of quality.

Wal-Mart is a testament to that fact.

I agreee for the most part, though I think it will be closer to the tomato model.

Plenty of room for mass, cheap production by the big companies AND small boutique farming.

There will always be those looking at it solely based on price. Then you have the connoisseurs. Both are able to find the tomatoes they need, and there is plenty of commercial production avenues available to keep big growers happy.

Yes they are, after being on painkillers for 18 months after my accident I asked my Dr. to help me get off the pills, he asked me why is the pain gone? not even close I told him but I don't like the feeling of being a zombie on top of the pain, oh he said then yes I can give you a script for some morphine patches????? Yea thanks doc I will go cold turkey then. His reply, that's dangerous.

He was right it was hell on earth coming off those legal drugs cold sweats, hot flashes, flu like symptoms, feeling completely dried out on the inside and the complete hell you put your loved ones thru.

I would rather go thru that accident again before I take pain pills.

In my city they sell pot behind the counter. Where are you from where you can get it over-the-counter?

Actually, here in Washington state the recreational weed sales begin on July 8th... and from what I understand, for a good quality gram of weed - you're going to pay $25.00.
On the "black market" you would only pay $10.00 for a gram, so yeah. I can get a half ounce right now for $100.00. Outstanding quality too. I shudder to think what that would cost in a retail weed shop. So I've heard I mean to say.

I would be more curious if the cost of edibles are going to go up. "Medicinal" weed has been sold for a while now and they have these "bon-bons" made with cannibutter that are amazing (so I've heard) and they're only $5.00 each and last for hours (so I've heard). I wonder if they will sell these for recreational use as well and just how much more they are going to cost now.
But I am willing to "take one for the team" and go check it out once it's commercially available in 13 days.

Nobody under 21 should do pot, imnho, because of the development of their brain. The smart ones will wait. The dumb ones will think they are doing it but will be smoking oregano. The almost-smart ones will be the losers, and will think they are doing it the right way. Nope, over 21 has been the norm advice of pot activists.

I thought the brain finished it's major development at age 25

HIghly unlikely. Considering it is far less than that when purchased legally now, I see no reason it would just 250%.

The same. At least thats what I pay for medical in a shop.

Yes, they will. Along with waxes, shatters, oils, tinctures, tars, and many other forms.

They want kid proof packaging for pot, but it's totally cool to put alcohol in the exact same type of containers we put soda in. In fact we even market alcohol in fun, exciting flavors.

Why Not do the same with Alcohol as we do with Cigarettes, Black out the windows, no advertisements, no fun flavors...

I'm #ing kidding. If you're going to legalize pot, why should it be treated any differently than alcohol? Why is tobacco treated so much differently than alcohol? Yeah, cigarettes are pretty well guranteed to kill you but so is alcohol if abused or misused.

Pot, although I could see causing issues with driving isn't going to kill you unless you ate or smoked nearly your damn weight in it. It will sure make you wish you would die if you use too much but damn.

It's a #ing plant.

It's my hope that tobacco companies will switch over their products from cigarette tobacco to medicinal MJ. I think that would be good for medical supply stockpiles as well as good for cost.
No no no no no how many times can I say it? NO. Most laws have been set up thus far specifically to keep the larger corporations OUT of MJ, and thankfully so. The price would skyrocket if it were in the hands of big tobacco.

its all about the tomato model. Allow corporations in, but limit the sizes of the grows and let the smaller, "farmers market" type growers get their share as well.

MJ isnt like tobacco. Quality matters, at least to some people (especially patients).

As for the stockpile...well, Im a patient, and i have NEVER, I repeat, NEVER gone to the dispensary and found a shortage. Supplied are no problem.

A lot of chronically ill folks buy illegally and they no longer would have to with a legal stockpile
Plenty more purchase it legally. There is plenty of legal mj out there. There is no shortage. There is no need to "stockpile", especially when you consider that both the CBD's and THC content of mj degrades over time (meaning the more that was stockpiled, the more low quality stuff would get sold to patients).

The ignorant don't see it that way.

Therefore, if you want this thing to go smoothly, it's up to those who are in the industry to bite the bullet for the time being, until people realize how silly their protests were.

I agree with you 100%, it's a double standard. So are a lot of things when they are first put into public hands.
