Seriously though ... I'd guess that most folks at ATS are semi-prepper and have a few months worth of food/water in their homes at any given time. Candles. Matches. Window blackout blankets. Stuff like that. If anything were to hit that would disrupt supply lines for a few months, most everyone here at ATS would be supplied in.

Checking in from the front line.... My German Shepard has really, really bad gas. I'm talking eye watering farts! The Blue Healer is herding me and my ole lady. That's pretty normal though.

My garden needs weeded.

Got that covered. I take five prescriptions. Deal with a mail order pharmacy. I have a 6 month supply. After six months I'll be screwed.

Ok, my wife just woke me up and said the had the gnarliest dream. It was a huuuuge EQ that lasted ten minutes. She woke from this dream at about 6:16, same time the last EQ we had here woke us up, THEN just as I noticed that I was alerted of a 6.6 in Mexico just now!

Freaky freaky synchronistcic freakiness. Anyway back to reality.........I hope

Let's be a bit less specific.

An odd numbered day in even months and an even numbered day in odd months if the year is even, days reversed in odd numbered year. Bonus of leap over day when it won't occur which is Dec 31. That's should cover it.

Uh, no one on here made the prediction. If you read the source in the OP, you would have saw it was a psychic on that forum. And the gist of these threads is not one where people on here believe it's actually gonna happen, but the fun of discussion and specualtion.

Some psychic. And speculation? When has any of these so called predictions actually come true?

BTW, I've seen my fair share of people on here making their own predictions, and either they were trolling, or they actually thought it was going to be true. People are way more gullible than you think, so I'd be willing to bet there are more than a couple people on here that at least entertain the possibility of the prediction being correct.

Here's the deal guys, you can't predict the future (for the majority of things) AND tell someone about it or even look at the result yourself without changing the future.

I'll give you an example; say you go to a fortune teller, and he/she says you're going to die in a car accident on the way to work tomorrow. Let's assume he/she is correct (for the moment), and you will die in car accident tomorrow if you go to work. What are you gonna do? You're gonna call out sick, assuming you believed it. So how can you die in a car accident on the way to work, if you called out sick and didn't set foot in a car all day?

So just by predicting the future, you can change it, therefore making the prediction incorrect. Actually, the future is predetermined, so you aren't changing anything, just the prediction was wrong as soon as it was predicted, and even more wrong once it was shared.

This obviously doesn't apply to everything. For example, I could predict that the Statue of Liberty will remain standing tomorrow, and that doesn't automatically mean that it will crumble to the ground. Some things are almost certain, with a high probability of remaining the same, or an unavoidable action like this earthquake prediction for example, but the basic principle is sound.

Then again, you have to actually have some ability to predict the future in the first place. That would take a truly massive amount of data, and a supercomputer way beyond what we have today to accurately do it, but then like I said, the same rules of predicting the future still apply as I said above. As soon as you look at the data, something has changed. You would have to factor in what the consequences of you looking at the data were, and telling people about it, for it to be really any accurate.
