Date specific doom porn: Psychic says 9.3 EQ on May 31st

I love these things. Sooner or later a prediction date will hit. But probaly later rather than sooner. They say "Madrid" fault but probably mean "New Madrid".

I hope you're wrong. A 9.3 on the New Madrid fault line would be catastrophic for millions, maybe even hundreds of millions of people here in the US.

Wow! Here I sit in the midst of the New Madrid zone....and I'm reminded of a dream I had many, many years ago. In my dream the "big one" had hit and knocked out all bridges in the area and I was trying to get from my work place on the Mississippi river to my home on the Tennessee river. Perhaps I'll just stay home on the 31st and work on my gardens. If this comes to pass those gardens may become quite valuable.
A few years ago a panel of experts reported that a quake large enough to take down a few bridges over the Mississippi river would impact the entire nation since most of the food is grown in areas west of the Mississippi. Just trying to imagine the lines of big rigs filled with foodstuffs all stopped at the Mississippi is mind-blowing!

I thought that 9s were only possible on subduction zones and that slip faults could only muster up a good 8.

I am no earthquake geek so this is just me putting out something I read in passing. I couldn't even say where I read it. Could have been right here on ATS .a reply to: lostbook

I'm fine with these also. 99.999999% chance it won't happen, but when (if) it finally does, it's on record and that psychic should be afforded some credit for getting it right, after the hundreds of other's failed date predictions.

A 9.3 would be of Biblical proportions. Everything in the US would be affected if the Miss. Valley was essentially destroyed.
