This was just late breaking news on the TV. Apparently the US is charging Chinese with hacking, and it seems unclear from the TV news but it seems as though they are calling it State sponsored .. so saying China is actively involved and behind it.

This is scary, but it's about time this happened.

ETA: I checked for a news story to link to read and could not find one. I believe it is Good Morning America on TV.

I thought it was well known that China has a tech army of hackers and actively trains youngsters how to "program/access remote networks and access computers and inject code" - aka hacking.

Yes, it is, it now seems the US has taken a stand against it.

Can't wait until China files the same charges against the US.

But of course the US will say..."Hacking? We Don't Hack!"

"We Don't spy, eavesdrop, track, hack, bug, monitor, wiretap...Nothing! Because we're the good guys!

Ok then.

Peace

Of course they are doing it back and forth, always have been.

Anyway, what are the US Government going to do? Drag the Chinese Government to the ICC?

It's all pointless bluster.

If the US doesn't like the Chinese hacking their systems...design more secure systems.

Is it now OK for Iran to charge the US for hacking, A Nuclear Plant at that, with the Stuxnet Virus.

Oh, people in glass houses should not be throwing stones.

Pot meet kettle and here are the saucepans and the fry pan to join in.

Difference being it's not corporate espionage. China is stealing industrial secrets, costing millions of jobs.

The one upside with a hacking war is they only need to hack each others facility's directly and no one gets murdered.

Well until a nuclear plant gets hit again and blows up then its real war. Which is why it could be a secret agency of either side for plausible deniability or even false flag from their own hackers using Chinese proxies.

Hurts my head just thinking about all this back and forth, 3 letter agency's shadow ops false flags etc. You thought it was hard to prove real world false flag ops, its so much easier to hide hacking and who did what exactly.

And America let Stuxnet loose in an Iranian nuclear facility.

What, it's "do as I say, not as I do" with the US? Considering all the underhanded crap the US government does, someone needs a good whack with the clue-by-four

US Charges China with Cyber-Spying on American Firms

The Justice Department has filed criminal charges against several Chinese government officials, accusing them of stealing American trade secrets through cyber espionage, according to U.S. officials familiar with the case.

The names of the targeted companies could not immediately be determined, but they were said to be in the energy and manufacturing sectors.

Considering we try to steal their trade secrets as well, I'm not particularly weepy over this.

You know, I find it really sick.

If you invent something really cool in the US and try to patent it, the US Gov will come along, claim National Security, steal your invention and every piece of paper you have that deals with it, develop it, weaponize it, make it top secret, threaten you if you ever reveal it, pay you nothing for it.

And they accuse the Chinese of theft!

I just hate hypocrisy. Especially when it is just so bloody blatant! The US steals from everyone, Big Buisiness steals from everyone and now both groups are crying and pointing - It's them, it's them!

Sort of like the little guy saying, ..... de plane, de plane!

If it's corporate then why is the US Govt. involved?

Oh right, they're the same thing. The US Govt. is a corporation and their shareholders are all corporate as well.

Sorry I forgot.

Come on...the NSA / US Government is spying on corporate networks, Universities and Industry along with just about every other individual and institution using any electronic communications medium there is.

What's the point of denying it? when everyone knows it is a fact it just makes you look silly or a hypocrite.

Best thing the US government could do is to keep quiet about it...use it to feed false intel and information, and shore up the areas that they don't want anyone else looking at.

The US is having a pop at China in addition to Russia now that the 'deal of the century' between Russia and China is going ahead.

I don't think many posts here reflect how serious this is.

It not that the Chinese are accused of hacking the US,
it's that the Chinese are accused of hacking US firms.

In other words, the corporatocracy. Big business.
God help them if they have hacked the federal reserve.

Exactly the point I have been making. Everyone is so hell bent on hating the USA they can't see it. We aren't talking the typical spying on each other, we are talking industrial espionage on a massive scale sponsored by a State.

Great, what huge corporations vital to China's national security has the US hacked and stolen secrets and given the information to US corporations? Give me the full list.

I invented a guitar brace that helps a 6 string guitar sound like a 12 string guitar. Will Martin guitar or Yamaha guitar steal my ideal and claim it is theirs. Yes, indeed. Why, because I have no money at the beginning of my invention.
