Hello there was a recent thread about a new interview with bob lazar, and i was thinking
despite all his talking and supposed revelations, what has come of it, absolutly nothing.

Think of all the people whove spoken out about their incidents or research
think billy meir, stanton freidman, dr reed, bob dean, oriley, betty hill theres hundreds more, i could list them all day

But most of these people have major critics, and despite all that, even the ones that are assumed to be genuine,
nothing comes of it

Even the big cases like phoenix lights, roswell, battle of la, rendlesham forest you name it, all what we have is heresay reports thats it, nothing else
Heck, even the photo of the belgium triangle which for almost 2 decades was regarded as authentic, was confessed as a hoax.

This isnt one of those screams for evidence, im just saying that despite all the talks and conferences, not one of these supposed events have done anything or shed any light on anything.
So what is the point? what is the point of ufology? theres just almost nothing to it anymore besides for blurry lights over lake eerie on youtube videos.

Can not believe that 70 years on from roswell we are still at, or even behind square one.

Look guys, i am a firm believe of past visitation, maybe we were created by aliens who knows, but ufology is at an all time low, almost everything you think is genuine turns out to be a hoax, and all we have are hear say testimonies or second hand testimonies, it just gets to a point where its almost boring, and like watching paint dry. There is just nothing to ufology anymore,

Isnt it obvious ufology will only progress futher if the ufos themselves choose it. ie a ufo actually lands in broad day light at times square?

Or maybe alot the evidence is labeled a so called hoax by tptb to protect themselves from being known as further liars to the ones that still believe in them. personally i know they are here, my eyes and feelings dont lie. i agree with u to some point but at the same time there are some ufologist who just want to bring the truth out. i think finally this will be the year we will learn alot about the truth, not just about ufo/et presence. WW3 is at our door steps and if people dont unite against our corrupt governments here in the USA and wirldwide we will just continue to be their puppets...

Or you could just give it up and move on and let those who are still interested continue searching for their truth.

Peace.

This is your Opinion, however I am sure their are many passionate people out who don't find it "a waste of time" take what you know and move on, no need to make a public rant , just to somehow confirm your feelings....
Just saying.

Everything that every single whistleblower/ contactee/ abductee has ever said.. leads us to where we are today, which is no more enlightened or in the know than we would be had they never opened their mouths

Your complaint is actually that these events haven't brought any wide acceptance to the theory. Waiting for the news or "powers that be" to announce anything as the truth is giving credit to the media as just that - the truth.

If you chose to believe that not everything on the news is true, or that not everything important is reported to the populace, the events you've mentioned are HUGE.

If only 10% of evidence was unexplainable, and the hoaxes never existed, it would be very hard to discredit that evidence. The hoaxers are who are ruining ufology.

Also, I think just the term "ufology" takes away from its credibility. It sounds made up. It doesn't even make sense mixing an acronym into a compound word.

If it bores you then stay away from it , for some of us it's a hobby , an interest that one day may (or may not) bear fruit in that one little piece of information that points to the reality of other species visiting this planet .

Some people think fishing is boring and pointless , does that mean I should stop that as well ?

I do have to agree that nothing productive comes out of ufology. We never see any physical evidence, every video posted on youtube is either a hoax or turns out to have a more down-to-Earth explanation.

And as far as eye witness accounts, they cannot be believed because people lie, whether it's for money or attention, and we have learned that people tend to take unexplained experiences and apply their own bias' and world-views to the experience.

That being said, I still find ufology to be entertaining and interesting. Plus, it could be said that ufology has been one of the biggest social experiments ever conducted.

Thats the thing
its not even entertaining anymore

even till 2011/2012 you had the norway spiral
the turkish ufos with (aliens) inside
crop circles with alien faces
ufos over new york
ufo over jerusalem

call them easily explained or hoaxes or whatever, thats fine but there was stuff out there
now there is nothing except for boring news reports of `lights over lake eerie` yawn

The problem is flawed expectations that spring from a flawed concept. Ufology is not a job for science, it's a job for the humanities. From that angle, there is a great deal of light to be shed. Light that changes everything.

People need to go back to the drawing board, shed their expectations and habits of thought, and analyse Ufology with the lens of the humanities. They will be shocked.

Forgive me if I am wrong here, but it seems that you may be a bit jaded that there is nothing new coming out of ufology that really sparks your personal interest.

If so, I am in the same boat.

I've read up on all the people in ufology, watched all the videos, scoured the interviews on Project Camelot....etc. I'm at a stand still because there is nothing new to discuss or look forward to. It's all the same stuff being rehashed over and over again.

We need something to happen to reinvigorate the community.

See that's an example of your short sided thinking and blatant ability to deny ignorance.

Ufology has made some people very wealthy due to them selling books, lectures, videos, TV shows and Movies.

Regardless of the validity some people have benefited greatly from the interest in ufos and as a film producer...I'm one of them!

And if I read the tone of your posts correctly...your interest has more to do with disputing most things you can't understand or are afraid of....

btw....welcome to ATS!

Not to me it is. And there are alot of others that don't think it is either, Stanton Friedman for one. There is lots of evidence out there that we have been and are being visited. Either you choose to accept this or you do not. As I just posted on your other thread, its the 95% of sightings postings that do not interest me. Its the 5 % which you cannot explain that interest me. You must also consider the disinformation/denial game the US government/military apparatus plays which factors into alot of sightings these days. I am convinced contrary to what they say they ARE interested in ufo's ..until ufo's stops visiting us, I will continue to seek answers, and explanations for what is going on out there.

Wehther the field is "dead" or not depends on why a person got in to this in the first place.

Even the big cases like phoenix lights, roswell, battle of la, rendlesham forest you name it, all what we have is heresay reports thats it, nothing else Heck, even the photo of the belgium triangle which for almost 2 decades was regarded as authentic, was confessed as a hoax.

Post 2012 we are exiting what seems to have been nearly a 70 year long seminal "constructive phase"; we are now entering in to what promises to be a years-long deconstructive phase.

The previous constructive phase was obviously very entertaining and full of exciting videos and photos.

The deconstructive phase will involve massive amounts of reading and critical analysis of the literature that represents the seminal phase.

Yeah, if you don't like to read and think, it's going to be tremendously boring.

No thats not right.

I have enhanced my video and image analysis abilities, improved my knowledge of the sky.

enjoyed many stories hoax or not.

If you have gained nothing and are no where, I think that is your own fault for not learning from your experiences.
