There is also the possibility that in some of the visits the tracking of IP location is in error or was done by proxy, etc. That would skew the location. Google or some other method/database for location.
That's very possible. I think my IP address currently portrays I'm in France or something, lol. I know it was Germany a few days ago because I was getting ads in German, lol.

I'm American and I voted that I hadn't previously heard of it. It seemed like an unneeded option....

So if u asked this question and used the plane that was short of the runway in SF...you'd get the same results... See how I don't mention the flight number

So you are saying that 26% of Americans participants are trolls, all 750 of them.
How many foreign languages can you speak and type?
That would say something about the culture of a part of the American membership.

The idea being that location by IP is not always correct for the country of origin and especially if a proxy is used. This is referring to the votes all being from the US. Some could have been foreign to the US.
The poll was a joke to begin with, so like I said, what's so wrong with make a joke right back?

For all those that keep saying oh it's a error etc.... If it was an error then why just on the American vote??
Because it's mostly Americans who come here so it'll be mostly Americans who are screwing around on the poll.
Comeon people ... it's obvious ... it's impossible to be on the internet and not to have seen the information that the plane went down.

Funny how everyone is referring to the 26% Americans, when in fact we should Emphasis that its 26% of American ATS'rs.
And the Americans that do attend this forum are somewhat smarter then your average Joe...
Deny ignorance much? No wonder some of these threads get so polluted.

I think you will find that's not true!
Skeptic.. does have any hard facts on active membership nationalities??
And more pertinent to the test... what percentage of nationalities voted please?
Thank you,
Korg.

It might be the case that the number of voters, to some extent, kind of reflect the percentage of visitors, Americans vs. UK vs. Whoever. I can see the actual site visitor distribution being similar. (Eg if 3000 Americans would vote and only 300 from the UK, we can conclude that possibly also 10x more Americans visit the site than Brits. Just simple statistics with SOME margin of error of course.

I would think that the poll allowed one vote per user id. I wonder if the site kept track of the selection voted by ID or only that the member voted. Was it mentioned if only one vote was allowed per member.
