Sorry but this shows, to me, that there is a flaw in the polling. I won't except that so many people haven't heard of the missing flight here in the US. It was either manipulated or two of the results are flipped.

When I first noticed the poll I clicked on view results and that category was like 2%. I noticed it and chuckled at the time, now it's not funny.

The results are skewed, but really what poll isn't?

I don't believe so, that the poll results were skewed. I think its just that people don't look up.

I think America is too busy playing red versus blue.

I find it hilarious and a bit pathetic that Americans are now being portrayed as "uneducated" because they didn't hear about a missing plane? Perhaps Americans didn't' care about the plane? Perhaps their are a lot bigger things going on in the world than what the MSM wants to portray to you as "important." Perhaps Americans care about the Economy? World Politics? Wars? Perhaps Americans care about Important things that effect their lives and children's lives and grandchildren's lives than over a missing plane?

I have my in-laws(British) over and they go on and on about the Missing plane, I honestly could care less, I've said it before. WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE MISSING PLANE. All this guessing and what if's and could of's are just non sense left to people with nothing better to worry about.

Until we know it was Aliens, or a government conspiracy, or a terrorist plot, or any of other evidence-less theories I will continue to state, All we know is a plane went missing, that's it. Nothing more.

Or, of course it could be that Americans understand all the above and still know about it and just have a funny sense of humor

SHORT VERSION: It's just a random poll that you could vote on multiple times, and further more, I blame Bush

I think the poll got hijacked.

Common consensus - Americans are stupid...poll was hijacked to keep us thinking that. I seriously think you aren't that stupid..

The stupid ones are the poll hijackers...seriously, reading this thread, a majority of us aren't dumb enough to believe you are are stupid as you pretend to be.

Even a friend of mine who relishes slutty Katie Price, and has no internet knew about the plane.....

Americans are jerks. I know because I am one. It wouldn't surprise me if many decided to throw the poll results by pretending they never heard of it. Or they couldn't decide on an answer so they chose the one off answer just to be silly. Kind of an obvious sarcasm, almost as if they couldn't believe that this was even presented as an option so they just decided to pick that option because, in all honesty nobody knows and there is no obvious answer so it really doesn't matter what we think happened so the poll doesnt matter so it doesn't matter what answer we pick... Also many probably were suspicious that the government or whoever is responsible might use this poll as at least one piece of data to help them decide how to proceed so for that reason they faked the poll. I refuse to believe that many ats members from ANY where haven't heard of this. Maybe the average yokel walking down the street but not ats. This was some sort of prank.

btw I did not participate in the vote.

Well folks, there's an aspect to these results that is both shocking and embarrassing. I'm not going to mention it and see who picks up in the stunning revelation within the results. I had to double check the data, double check again, and then… I don't know… just sat in a corner for a while. Otherwise, the results are not unexpected.

I'm not above chalking it up to government shills. Lets take all the votes of people who never heard about this and delete their accounts

I'd be willing to bet that more Americans know who Justin Bieber's current beard is than what happened with some Malaysian plane.

Pathetic.

Im an American and I am not suprised by the poll. I voted for we will prob never know what happened but thats because I seek news and knowledge everyday to try and better myself and understand the world better.

Keep in mind most Americans have the attention span of a gold fish. If there is not free stuff floating at the top of the water then there not interested.

But there really is no excuse for an American ATS member to not know something about this subject it was everywhere for months. Just goes to show how doomed we are.

I find it sad that the switched on and informed Americans are trying to make up all kinds of excuses as to why many haven't heard of the plane when it's obvious to everyone else.
So many straws on the floor.

Funny how everyone is referring to the 26% Americans, when in fact we should Emphasis that its 26% of American ATS'rs.

And the Americans that do attend this forum are somewhat smarter then your average Joe...

Deny ignorance much? No wonder some of these threads get so polluted.

Its all that's been on the news for months.

I don't know about the rest of Americans, but we canceled our TV service quite a while ago. Literally the only reason I know about it is because of this site.

It just reinforces what most of the international members already know about many of the American members on this site.

Seriously dude ... you are entitled to your anti-American bigotry but it's rather obvious that people trolled the poll. It's impossible for 1/3 of them to be on the internet and not have heard of the plane. You WANT this poll to be correct. Common sense says ... the poll results aren't possible.

Just thought I'd point out, since you've thrown the figure of 1/3 out there a couple of times, that 26% is just slightly more than 1/4.

Exhibit B?

For all those that keep saying oh it's a error etc.... If it was an error then why just on the American vote??

Because it's mostly Americans who come here so it'll be mostly Americans who are screwing around on the poll.

Comeon people ... it's obvious ... it's impossible to be on the internet and not to have seen the information that the plane went down.

Ouch....

I think someone doesn't understand the concept of percentages.

...................

Wow.

Coincidence?

I didn't see any advantages in having these polls but it turns out I was wrong. This is freaking hilarious.

So much for that denying ignorance part for American ATS survey takers.........I had much higher expectations of our site's demographics as opposed to the overall demographics of our Nation.

Excuse me, I just saw a really cool Cat photo on Facebook while I was watching the Kardashians..... I have to go.

Must not be a lot of American CNN viewers on this site.

I get the impression that a lot of US ATS members don't watch or read mainstream news of any type. This poll does not surprise me.

I guess we will have to ask who set up the poll and how they were able to differentiate the results per country.

Also you have to look at how many more voted in the US compared to the UK and AUS. There was more than triple the amount from the US that voted compared to the other two. This isn't a fair comparison.

Omg, really?

You also don't get percentages?

This is amazing.

Your first post was that? That's freakin' hilarious.

He's suggesting that the Americans who took the poll, didn't take the poll seriously, and picked a retarded answer on purpose for whatever reason. There are a lot of trolls, believe it or not. This site, with some of the posts I've seen over the years, has got to have a fairly high percentage of them.

Omg, really?

So explain why 26% of people from other countries weren´t doing the same thing.

The amount of Americans participating is not relevant in this case because we are talking about percentages.

You do understand the concept?

Your first post was that? That's freakin' hilarious.

So why are you not laughing?
