In March, Luke AFB held an air show which featured the F-35A. The plane performed for about 10 minutes doing slow flyby's and one quick afterburning flyby and climb. It certainly wasn't a Thunderbird performance but it was spectacular to see the plane in person after talking about it online for so long.

Well even if I get to see one I don't mind a ten minute fly about with some hovering involved. I remember when the b-2 had it's first uk showing. It came in from the left with two escort fighters done two fly bys and buggered off again. The year after that I had the privilege of seeing the b-2 doing a nore extended show and it actually landed .. That was a sight itself

It was relatively tame, but I made it out there to see it. Was disappointed that the more impressive F-22 wasn't put through the normal airshow paces.

I used to work for BAE - every 4 years there was an opportunity to be a host at Farnborough. I didnt apply as working in Procurement every supplier invited you so rather than work, I used to get wined and dined in some of the best seats in the house.

One year I went with my Brother who was working on ASTOR (Airborne Standoff Radar) with Lockheed Martin, we were invited into their (LM) pavilion and the host knew my brother, he asked if we wanted a private tour or to tag onto theirs (pointing at the Dubai Crown Prince!). We had our own but kept bumping into them.

Far out times hey??

Im in Aus now so doubt it will be over here soon, will just have to watch youtube.

The F-22 is doing a display just south of you in Oregon this summer. I was thinking of going down myself. ( I live up in Blaine.)

That's awesome, thanks! I will definitely see if I can make it to that one. About a 3 hour drive for me.

I saw the F-22 do a display a few years ago, was quite impressive to see it put through its paces, I had a thread on here with a few photos aswell I think. Good times

They used to put them through their paces right over my house. I watched just about every F-22 built do some wild stuff over me. Saw a few very interesting things too.

With my kids in the back seat, three hours seems like 30.

I usually attend the Abbotsford Int'l just in B.C., literally on the U.S. border inside Canada. It's about 15 minutes away.

The Raptor was scheduled twice and was cancelled both times. Once during the "grounding" and once last year during sequestration-that one cost me 200 in reserved seating for the family-so I've missed it totally.

Well, I could see them from afar in Anchorage, when I was running north a few years back, but that's it.

In those days, they kept four 22's idling 24/7, hot fueling them in case the Russians got frisky....

Getting to see an F22 display (among other thing) is on my bucket list.

Haven't you heard? They made an amphibious version of the plane that does everything. The USS F-35 will just sail across any body of water. I heard they are having trouble adapting the software to the salt water though....

WoW what a beauty
