Looks like I may be attending a few air shows this year. Along with two lancaster bombers putting on a show this year in the UK. It's been announced an F-35 is to make a trip over to the UK for it's first UK showing at an air show. The two venues are the royal international air tattoo and the farnborough air show. Trying my best to see this, will remind me of the day I saw the B-2s first public showing back at mildenhall as a youngster

Anyways just thought I'd share with ats I know there are some aviation lovers out there.

Mods: I appreciate this isn't the right forum, you may want to put it the correct place unless it's ok in this forum

You are in for a treat. And I must say. I'm jealous. Other than testing.
I believe that no one here in the United States has seen a full demonstration yet. ( except maybe Zaphod ).
So enjoy it and do get photos and video!

Precisely. Its a carrier variant. That or it's one of the ones Britain bought.

Nope re read the article. It's a U.S. F-35. Maybe it can refuel over the Atlantic?

Haven't you heard? They made an amphibious version of the plane that does everything. The USS F-35 will just sail across any body of water. I heard they are having trouble adapting the software to the salt water though....

There's also talk about the Skorpion making its debut at RIATT or Farnborough.

Why? Two flying together with a tanker can make it there easily without stopping.

Did you hear about the AvNerd Conference Boeing held earlier this year? I think it's going to be annual. If it is I am SO going next year.

It will take place in the flying display at both shows, and possibly the static display at RIATT. They'll be parked at Fairford while they're there, and may take part in the christening and launch of the Queen Elizabeth on July 4th. Still no word on which variant will be going (my bet is on the B model though).

Had to log back in just to comment! LMAOROF! Nice!

And Zaphod. I thought I suggested air refueling...of course you're right. It does make the most sense in all I listed.

Sir I'm interested! I looked around. What's a skorpion? Is it a version of the Eurofighter?

Edit: found a light attack fighter from Poland. Is this correct?

No, it's a light fighter built by Cessna/Textron AirLand that made its first flight earlier this year (oops, my bad, it's Scorpion, not Skorpion).
