I'm thinking that we are starting to live out Atlas Shrugged. The takers are taking more than the producers can produce, along with more and more regulations, not to mention laws that allow it to happen.

This is what happens when we let lawyers run the government. They are professional thieves and con-men as well. They deepen the divide and use it to their advantage.

I'm all about helping people who need help...but not at the expense of people who can't afford it. And that to me is what seems to be happening these days, particularly with the middle class.

The average person cannot afford a team of lawyers to run the minefield of loopholes, so the average person gets screwed in the short and long run.

But the OP keeps using a broad brush attack on people who are successful and seemingly uses his/her own failures to push a agenda that is in the end destructive in and of itself.

To do what you are best at to benefit humanity.

People who love making others healthy will be doctors.

Those with good ideas will be engineers, scientists, and scholars.

We have the technology to do most grunt work with technology these days, and the rest can be done on a part time basis by people who are unsure of what they like to do.

This is EXACTLY the key to a healthy and prosperous life for all. Using the example of doctors, for instance; I cannot count how many I've known who are terrible at their job, or resent being there and would rather be golfing. (Was told that one personally by my own doctor!)

How many great minds, talents, ideas and advances have been lost for all of humanity, simply because so many cannot afford higher education and are too busy working to support their families with the basics?

Today, many children of the wealthy, want to be famous for being rich, and building their "brand" - there is NO benefit to humanity in that.

We are on a downward spiral, and unless and until ALL of humanity is included, and all have the opportunity to be all they could be, we will have lost the very progress that could have created a better world for all.

I can tell you exactly why some people are at the bottom of the ladder.

Because that is exactly where they belong. At the bottom. That was their choice, not mine. So why should I try to help those who refuse to help themselves? That only brings me down to their level, and I refuse to do that.

narcissism much?

who says that 75% of workers deserve to "be at the bottom". those that deserve to be at the bottom are usually at the top.

Unless you are a disabled veteran, you deserve to be at the bottom.

I said some...not all nor 75%. But some do belong there. They are the people you just can't help and no amount of help would do any good. Trying to help them is like throwing gas on the fire.

I've known homeless that were all to happy with their lot in life. Granted, there are not a lot out there like that but they chose it of their own free will.

Then you have idiots that lose everything because they lived beyond their means and didn't plan for the future. They receive only a little sympathy from me. Most times they learn from that experience and dust themselves off and start over. Been there and done that myself. It's a traumatic lesson, but I learned from it.

I am by no means wealthy, but I live within my means. I think that should be the lesson pounded home. Not redistribution of wealth. Not higher taxes.

Studies have shown that if we redistributed the wealth today, that the wealthy would be wealthy again in two years and the poor would be poor again. And 80% of the worlds wealthy today are considered to be new money, meaning they weren't born into wealth but worked hard to get where they are.

Exactly. It amazing how people advocate a communist or socialist government tend to know nothing about why these systems untimely fail. Also, they talk about just 'who' is considered rich-and should be striped of their wealth and have it redistributed to the deserving poor? What is the level of wealth that gets you sworn from society?

It's the same old pity me pity me he got more than me.

Like the Evil CEO's A person values his or her education and is always wanting to improve. Studies hard at college instead of majoring in boozing and balling. Gets a job and plays by the rules and put in an effort everyday. After 20 years of loyal employment get promoted to the highest rank-has a million dollar salary and a golden parachute for retirement.

Yet somehow this person is labeled as 'Evil" and should have all the wealth distributed to all those who didn't do the right thing.

I think some of you need to spend a few nights at the booking center so you can really see the habits of the deserving poor.

profiting off the misery of others is EVIL.

ffs, the system rewards the top 5%.

I do not like knowing that everything everyone buys has a markup where the rich take a cut of every purchase. So, you feel good knowing that some of every item you buy goes into the pockets of the rich?

I do NOT like that. I would rather slaughter them all. why should my hard earned money, even one cent, go into THEIR POCKETS?

That's very Socialist of you. Stalin and Mao would be proud.

As for your second comment...what would give any one incentive to do anything if there wasn't a profit involved? It's like you are promoting the movie "Ideocracy" to become a real thing.

As I see it, the way you put it is if I open a dog training business and make a profit off of it because I am good at my job...you think I'm evil? And I should be whacked because of it?

If that's the case, seek help, you need it.

And here's the bottom line.

Kill the rich, so that others will be rich.

But. . .

Then someone(s) will want to kill the "new" rich so they can be rich.

But then others will come along and kill THOSE rich so that they can be rich. . . .

"And the beat goes on. . . . . "

none should be rich if it as the expense of others.

I prefer a more tribal lifestyle where equality is paramount.

You have said you have served in the military if I remember correctly. It's obvious that you never deployed, or were a Fobbit. Iraq, Afghanistan and most of Africa and the Middle East are tribal societies. They don't treat anybody equally and are quite ruthless.

The tribal mentality just leads to more and more conflict.

I was deployed 3 times.. you are making blanket assumptions.

I left the USMC due to injuries, then joined another branch. btw, i was at Margaritaville CampPen. you know what that place is?

Point is, a commodities trader is doing NOTHING productive. They are buying things and reselling at a higher price.

Just like real estate brokers who buy a large tract of land then divvy it up in smaller amounts at a premium. They are doing NOTHING other than robbing those that would have bought it anyway without a middle man interjecting himself for personal greed taking a cut they dont deserve.

So you get to determine what I or anyone should have?

At least you're being upfront about it.

And you are painting with a really broad brush with venting your frustrations.

But I can sympathize with some of your frustrations.

A Commodities trader is what they are because the company they work for frees up those that are selling their commodities to produce more commodities. It's not a perfect system and is rife with corruption because it seems so easy to steal in that field. But people do get caught and sent to prison doing such as well.

The same with real estate, though it is harder to steal if people do their homework prior to buying. You can still buy rural property directly from the seller without no middle man, but you will have to do all the ground work yourself. Real Estate developers often pave the way for new subdivisions by having the sewer, water, electrical and roads infrastructure in place prior to even building a house. That cost loads of cash. People don't want to pay for all that these days, they want a turn key house.

I know what I'm talking about here (to a degree anyways) as I'm having to install everything myself on a piece of rural property. That alone costs a bundle. Grating a road to where the house will be, septic system, having the county run electric, drilling the well for water, surveys, etc...all before there is even a house. The house will actually be the cheap part of the project.

And thank you for volunteering your service to serve where others would not.

it is more the staying rich, retention of wealth that i see as more the problem.

The corruption is rampant in commodities and the punishment does not fit the crime.

When a rich guy can buy things first, then do nothing other then resell at a higher price, that should be criminal.

The rich can hire people to have their 'money make money'. That is like playing poker and the other guys goes all in every time and since you cant call his bet, lose. time and again.

I have seen how the super rich lives. When in HS on Oahu, i was lucky with the ladies (girls), especially the rich girls. I saw how they lived, how their dads made more money by doing NOTHING other than having financial henchmen do it for them.

Here is another example. The rich are feeding off of everyone to squeeze every cent of profits out of all of us.

When the economy is bad, they will choose to push all the burdens onto us. just one more small piece of proof that the rich must be stopped!

it is either them or us, I dont want to look outside and see millions impoverished just so a few thousand can satisfy their greed.

Wage fixing to shaft employees

Good luck on your property. I guess someone who buys land then sells it 10 years later of profit is evil to some of you as well.

I hope you adhere to the first rule of rural living. Put the local law on the payroll as soon as possible.

Live happily ever after.

Look at the bright side:
If the country falls into riots/revolution, these rich people will be hunted like dogs. I would NOT wanna be in any of those big, nice mansions/apartments when it all goes down because those will be the first to get it. Many of them will fly out, many back to their homeland.

The problem is, is their take-home pay is ridiculous. If they lessened their profits they'd still make a killing and the economy would be great because people wouldn't have to pay so much for stuff, but they choose to make record profits over people's happiness. I think it's all about to work itself out.
