I thought the same, as well...but it is an identical shadow and likely not possible. That's why I believe it may have been imaged around the time the plane went missing, perhaps. The other images I've found, of some larger scattered debris that was mentioned, lies at the botom of this island, near where the shore curves like a thumb.

NO! no, it is all the way left of that on the other side of the island...almost directly east.

Down below left (looks like a finger jutting out) and to the right, just within that groove. Not really far from the coast. Are is so dense with trees, though.
I have the photos on here under 'public'..but can't get them here bigger. very irritating.

Are you referring to the aircraft in flight that is clearly visible there (with the double image), or are you seeing something else on the grounf

Are you getting your east and west confused? Do you mean the left coast, i.e. WEST, or the right coast, i.e. EAST?

Here is an image of the area, notice the image date of 2009

Higher res image

note that this is not the exact coordinates you give, as i cannot find anything at those locations.

hmmm...one of the crazy theory that is going around is that MH370 was shadowing another plane. Could this pic be a test run of that attempt? or is it some sort of data corruption?

A lot of plane images captured by satellite imagery show this "double image". It's simply because the imagery is taken as a composite of two exposures, one after the other (notice the different resolutions - I believe, although I am not too sure of the technical details, that one captures the fine detail in monochrome and then the other captures the colour data at a lower resolution. Don't quote me on that though!)

Here's another example that is similar to the one seen here:

And here's an extreme example, where you can see there were actually separate exposures for the red, green and blue filters, and the plane had moved between each one.

Very well could be. Love the funky party plane. Fun in the sky!

No. They read North and East
the correct side of the island has a 'right' concave shoreline, looking at the screen.
Does anyone want to email me and get the darn pictures because I have them and cannot upload them. You will all see what I'm talking about. I feel bad that no one can get the coordinates so email me if you want.
Does anyone know if I can send anything via mobile?

That link just takes me to the plane in flight we were talking about. Linda claims to have seen an aircraft wreckage though - I can't believe she was talking about this random jet flying past!

It's been such a long time since this aircraft went missing...
My biggest question is if indeed the plane has crashed in the water (due to hijacking, malfunction, or any other cause), would the debris still be afloat?
Also, does anyone have any information on past crashes in the water, and a time frame of how long the debris stayed floating?
Probably unimportant information, but I can't help but wonder.....

If the plane disintegrated, you'll get anything with air pocket floating; suitcases, seat covers, life vests, life boats, insulated panels, books, papers, passports, bits of insulated aircaft panel sections. All those will float for months and spread out across the ocean. The minute a door hits the water, the life boat automatically inflates.

Air flight 447 is one example. It's believed the plane lost air speed and altitude, then reached sea level.

Yes, the CO-ORDINATES read north and east because they are north of the equator and east of Greenwich! But you seem to be talking about the WEST SIDE of the island, yes? On the left hand side of the screen as you look at it?

If you want to get a pic off your mobile try going to imgur dot com. (Can't type the link on the board)

OH Lord! YES..that's where the aircaraft double-image is. Down south of that, where it looks like a finger jutting out...is where debris is.
Thank you so much...explains why I may not be a first-responder..lol

If you follow that jets' path, it could have possibly landed where I see debris.
That jet image has been there as long as people have been looking for this flight and has the same tail flap design as the 777.

The initial description was for the jet flying past I think! I admit, I'm a bit confused here

I am simply wondering if this image, as low as it was, was taken as the disappearance of flt. 370 occurred. It's definitely something to think twice about. At this point, it's no more strange than ANY other scenario they've come up with.
And then to see what appears to be a crashed plane a short distance away...just really bothers me.
if I can email you photos, please let me know.

Put the cross in middle of the screen over what you see and then click on 'Permanent link' on the left hand side in the location box — that will create a link to a page showing the position that you can post on here.

I am a tomnod user but your map isn't loading on my comp.
There is some debris on land as well but no one seems to be able to view it.
Thank you for your help.
