It's good to see that I'm not the only person on ATS that thinks this debris was more than likely planted.
I still maintane that this plane never crashed. Was never hijacked. I am still having a hard time believing it even existed at all.

But, I suppose time will tell......

Why? Because it's a wacky far-out theory that proves what a free thinker you are?

Perhaps you'd care to share your thoughts with the families of the passengers and crew. Or do they not exist either?

This forum doesn't half attract some weirdos. I thought it was meant to be about searching for truth, not inventing conspiracies?

Maybe it was the Lithium Batteries all along.

MSDS Lithium Polymer Battries

5. Fire and Explosion Data

Page 1/3 Extinguishing Media: Dry chemicals, water.
Fire-Fighting Procedures:
Use self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing.
Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards:
Toxic gases (HF, PF6 ) will be formed if cells or battery are involved in a fire. Cells or battery may flame or leak potentially hazardous organic vapors if exposed to excessive heat, fire or over-voltage conditions. Damaged or opened cells or batteries may result in rapid heat and the release of flammable vapors.

Hydrogen Fluoride
Lithium Hexafluorophosphate

Possible battery fire knocking out electronics and releasing a toxic gas incapacitating everyone aboard. Fits a lot of different versions of the ghost/zombie-plane theory.

We are on the break of war with tensions escalating in Ukraine. Now with one soldier killed. But wait a minute who cares this missing plane is way better to cover by mainstream media. I have an idea. Lets draw the western worlds attention away from the tension in Ukraine with this missing plane. We could not have asked for anything better then this incident to come at iust the right time.

Im sorry but mainstream media lost my trust in 2001. For all we know the passengers are probably safe and sound on a remote military island adjusting to there new life.

Of course they can.
What you have to consider then is MOTIVE!

Hmmmm why would you ditch an aeroplane with 20 US military software designers on board.

Also on the plane were 20 senior staff from a US technology company who had just launched a new electronic warfare gadget for military radar systems in the days before the Boeing 777 went missing. Freescale Semiconductor, which makes powerful microchips for industries including defence, released the powerful new products to the American market on March 3.

Build a doomsday machine and kill the designers.

Not to indicate that I totally agree with your mini-theory, but it does raise some questions...

Err...my husband's company here in the US is being bought out by the, I guess you would call them, umbrella company of Freescale that has had ties to the bin laden family...& the bush family...& some other notables...

Make of it what you will, & I hope you understand my hesitancy to post, but something very curious is going on if we don't eventually receive total proof that the flight suffered something plane mechanical malfunction &/or natural plane accident, like fire...

Wait I though the lithium was only used on the Dreamliners; are you suggesting otherwise?

Like something along the lines of passenger/cargo batteries (not the airplane itself....)

I think it was like day 4 or 5 that it was released Lithium batteries were in the cargo hold. Immediately people speculated about a fire. I guess it has happened before. But the idea was squashed once all the sketchy flight data was starting to surface.

There were lithium batteries in the cargo.

At least three aircraft were lost due to lithium battery fires on board, including a UPS flight that crashed and killed both pilots.

Ya that's it... Thats the one that news reports were falling back on. I wasn't aware of the others.

You wouldn't happen to know how close the forward cargo hold is to the electronics room/bay? I keep searching for for a decent diagram but I can't find one that really explains what I'm looking at.

Sheesha! I thought people were speaking about lithium powered Boeings, not the cargo...

Do I even have that correct about the Dreamliners or is that an error?

I shall go reasearch further...

You seem to think the media can only handle one topic at a time? Thousands of column inches are being written about the situation in Ukraine. Ukraine has had a lot more front pages than MH370 in the past week, at least here in the UK.

"Diversionary tactics" is a dumb idea. The simple evidence is that it doesn't work. People are still talking, writing and blogging about Ukraine, Fred Phelps dying and all manner of other stuff going on in the world. You can't censor reality.

I think a lot of people really overestimate the power of the US government to carry out a cover-up. They couldn't even keep it hush-hush when Bill Clinton was getting a clandestine BJ in the Oval Office.

The news this morning is reporting that bad weather has stopped the three Orion aircraft from finding the debris for further examination. However, in the press conference yesterday the Navy said that weather in the southern Indian ocean is moderate. Can anyone with marine weather understanding check what the conditions in the area are really like?

Here is an image of where this debris was found.

So what we can conclude from this is..... IF its the plane. I mean I saw a pic in the paper just now at the shops as I was done thinking about it. But I can surmize that...

...A plane can fly right past the Australian Military base in Darwin - Pine Gap isnt too far from here as well

Perth also houses a massive army base as well as the main training grounds for the SASR not to mention the endless shipping from there....

Basically, if this is the plane - and I doubt it is...Australia's radar system civil and military is..crap. I don't think its would be wrong of the military to say, yeah we track something.. but that's it we don't know what it was..

I think with militarizes being quiet about that very factor - that they pick up more unidentified craft on radar that isn't news worthy....

No wonder the Japs bombed Darwin.

Going to have a beer instead of thinking about this anymore.

Anyone feeling me ?

First of all, the so called pings are just empty rings that nobody knows where comes from and are guessing it might be from the plane

They came from a source identified as that flight. The satellite knows which plane it is talking to.

It's simple enough to check the IR weather satellite view. You can see that there's a fair bit of cloud in that area which ties in with the reports of poor visibility.

(I linked to the S Polar view as the search area is too far south for the Indian Oceab view, but you can switch to that one for a more general overview using the dropdown menu.)

The forward electronics bay is usually right under the cockpit. A lot (most) aircraft have an access hatch in the cockpit floor.

Yes the 787 uses lithium batteries.
