Putin is trying to take over countries that aren't part of Russia? Without Russia Today there wouldn't be an Ukraine to speak of.

And so that gives them free reign to go and take it back?

Ironically if we look at history we would see Ukraine actually controlled large parts of Russia. Ukraine was not created by Russia.

To Xcathdra: Only 18yo and above can vote. A person can only vote once. And they invited international observers.

Under UN declaration from 1970 every region or a nation has a right to self determination if people vote for it and central government has to accept that vote and refrain from violence. So it is legal by international standards.

In this short post I posted more information than you did in the last three pages. All you do is just 'attacking Putin and Russia' which is off.topic, considering that crisis is in the Ukraine and not one Russian soldier was captured or killed in the Eastern regions of the country. Few hundreds of people were arrested there, around a hundred killed and all of them were residents of those regions and citizens of Ukraine. So you can stop with your personal frustration and write something on-topic.

Reread the declaration since the caveat is those referendums must be in compliance with the local / state laws. UN resolutions do not trump state authority. The UN charter states the same about territorial integrity.

As an example Palestine / Israel - If a referendum is all it takes then there is no reason for no Palestinian state.

Sure I attack Putin.. His actions are illegal and the man would rather start a war than admit his Russia is not the Soviet Union. To this day I have no idea what Putin's motives / justifications are being he has shifted his position on it so many times. I like Putin just as much as some of the people in this thread / site like me.

As much as Putin hates criticism he cant shut down all media world wide.

'terrorists' came to vote in big numbers, it is quite chaotic in Mariupol, probably no one expected such a massive turnout. Thanks to National Guard&Right Sector. This was all before midday, I believe voting will close at 6pm.

I find Your hypocrisy astounding! Why can't you, given your location, stick to "cutting your own grass?" Or, is everything/everyone 'squeaky clean' in America these days? This thread has become nothing more than a soap box for YOU! We get it, you hate Putin! now can we please let this thread return to a source of valuable information from people who are actually witnessing what is happening!...Thanks.

The village of Novoaydar in the Lugansk region is being attacked by Ukrainian troops, according to the local self-defense leader.

“Around 15 APCs have come near Novoaydar,” Aleksey Chmilenko said. “Our self-defense guards are trying to stop the attack and prevent the vehicles moving farther in the direction of Lugansk.”

Meanwhile, representatives of another Lugansk region self-defense group, based in Krasny Luch, told RT that they have seen APCs in the region, but have not heard any fighting yet.

Reports of sightings of Ukrainian APCs in various towns and villages in the Lugansk region have been coming in throughout the day. One report said that as many as 45 APCs were moving from the Kharkov region in the direction of Lugansk.

Novoaydar election commission was reportedly evacuated by self-defense activists, after it had been attacked by National Guard troops.

Earlier in the day, shooting and artillery fire was heard on the outskirts of Slavyansk, in southeast Ukraine’s Donetsk region, RIA Novosti reported, citing its correspondent in the area.

There have also been reports of a military operation going on in the town of Krasny Liman, Donetsk region. Those emerged after communication was lost with two territorial self-determination referendum committees there, according to the head of the Central Election Commission of the self-proclaimed “Donetsk People’s Republic,” Roman Lyagin.

My apologies for not being an unthinking Russian. There are people who are Pro Russian who have been yelling at the top of their lungs in these threads as well so your assertion its my soapbox is baseless and your hypocritical comment is hypocritical.

yes the thread is for updates.

when someone brings up a point / position we are free to agree or disagree with it. Both sides are pumping out propaganda and finding the truth becomes more and more difficult. This is not Russia so if you expect me to remain quiet while the other side posts you would be mistaken.

They get their money thru contracts which is the same way they get money from other clients as the US is not their only customer.

What does it matter if they are US citizens, because as far as I know there is no law that says you can't do business as an American in another country.
