well if you have watch this situation from the start it's a know fact behind them was a Protester controled zone.
But yeah dont mind the "evidence" ....edit on 4-3-2014 by Dolby_X because: (no reason given)
I dont know about the EU but the US tax payer spent Billions in loans to Russia. The US backed every loan the Russians took out to the IMF. Russia wouldn't be where they are now without US help but of course Putin wont admit it.

Well, now that is one way to look at it I suppose. It would be discounting the fact they were in ruins to need loans as a direct result of losing the cold war to the United States ...and had that gone on many more years, I think it quite possible we'd have been on the other end of the equation. The US and Russia weren't that far apart from both arms levels and spending beyond means to support it. They busted first. Economically, as it happens, and their announcements at the end of the 80's confirmed. They had back breaking debt no one had heard much about from inside the Soviet Union, that finally tipped their waiter, so to speak.
Now...It's reversed. We have debt far beyond any other nation in the world. We have a world about sick and tired of watching us spend our way deeper into ..ahem..better times or something. We also have a Russia largely now recovered from the mistakes of the past and at last check I'd seen, sitting with a debt to hard currency ratio near to where they could pay their own nation's debt with what liquid funds they have and immediately available in a pinch. Oh....If only we could know that feeling again.
Economically speaking, they can say up is down and they can change books to even teach how they can say it. They can't change the fundamentals.... Our economics suck. Russia's are in a strong position and COULD get stronger, quickly, depending on a couple world changes coming about (just as ours could, if a few things go the other way) ...and our leaders are far from evenly matched in all the wrong ways. The Bear woke at the worst time for us.

The police where all around them its a square in the middle of Kiev. Meaning there are streets and buildings on all sides so proving a shot hit protestors means nothing since there would have been officers there as well.

The best way to handle an angry person like Putin is to simply turn on him and walk away, refusing to listen to his ranting. Words are not the solution to the nutty things a man says; firm, quiet, reasoned-out actions are. Reacting in anger to an angry person doesn't work. Watchful waiting and firmness do. If Western leaders act quietly, firmly and without wavering, this situation can be frozen at the point it is now and kept from spreading further. Now is the time to decide how to handle this , not when his next grab for power takes place. Putin has revealed his paranoia. When dealing with a paranoid person, one must 'talk him down' carefully, but always know he is essentially a loose cannon -- and always will be.

What if the invaders in Crimea were actually Crimean separatists with military equipment provided by the Russians? This would change the story BIG TIME!
At times slouching in a chair, Putin might have seemed — at first glance — relaxed as he discussed the Russian military intervention that has put Moscow at odds with the West.
But Joseph Tecce, a psychology professor and body-language scholar at Boston College, said Putin's "unusual" number of quick head movements suggested he was feeling anxious. He licked his lips frequently, a sign of a dry mouth that also conveys unease.
"Early on, he shifts his body posture to be somewhat tilted in an attempt to relax more, another indication that he was feeling tense," Tecce said.
Erik Bucy, a professor at Texas Tech University who researches non-verbal communication, said that it's clear Putin is trying to make his case calmly even though his words are "quite combative."
"Non-verbally, this is Gorbachev; verbally, we’re listening to Brezhnev," he said, referring to former Soviet leaders. "In this sense his demeanor is deceptive, precisely because it doesn’t appear outwardly belligerent."
Tecce noted the living-room-type setting seemed calculated to evoke informality. The reporters were all young and had to ask their questions at the start.
"Thus, he essentially gave a lecture to a group of students and had full control of the continuity of his remarks," Tecce said.
"His eye contact during the monologue was good and his smiling helped engage the audience. He even seemed to enjoy being the teacher educating his young Russian colleagues."
But as time went on, Putin's facial expressions showed more aggression, Bucy said.
He bared his lower teeth — "a clear anger/threat display" — and furrowed his brow. His rate of speech sped up and he used an angry tone.
"His hand gestures, even though cupped, also become increasingly demonstrative — open hand gestures transform into fist pumps that are used with angry verbal expressions," Bucy said.

Putin is not the loose cannon here. You may like to look closer to home to find your loose cannon, in fact lots and lots of loose cannons. Start with the big white house in DC and spread out from there. McCain is a loose cannon, rusty too.
