How do we know that the "Protester controlled zone" had not been infiltrated by secret police?

I dont know about the EU but the US tax payer spent Billions in loans to Russia. The US backed every loan the Russians took out to the IMF. Russia wouldn't be where they are now without US help but of course Putin wont admit it.

Well, now that is one way to look at it I suppose. It would be discounting the fact they were in ruins to need loans as a direct result of losing the cold war to the United States ...and had that gone on many more years, I think it quite possible we'd have been on the other end of the equation. The US and Russia weren't that far apart from both arms levels and spending beyond means to support it. They busted first. Economically, as it happens, and their announcements at the end of the 80's confirmed. They had back breaking debt no one had heard much about from inside the Soviet Union, that finally tipped their waiter, so to speak.

Now...It's reversed. We have debt far beyond any other nation in the world. We have a world about sick and tired of watching us spend our way deeper into ..ahem..better times or something. We also have a Russia largely now recovered from the mistakes of the past and at last check I'd seen, sitting with a debt to hard currency ratio near to where they could pay their own nation's debt with what liquid funds they have and immediately available in a pinch. Oh....If only we could know that feeling again.

Economically speaking, they can say up is down and they can change books to even teach how they can say it. They can't change the fundamentals.... Our economics suck. Russia's are in a strong position and COULD get stronger, quickly, depending on a couple world changes coming about (just as ours could, if a few things go the other way) ...and our leaders are far from evenly matched in all the wrong ways. The Bear woke at the worst time for us.

I don't know where or why I thought I heard this.
But talk in this household in regards to those nukes is..not all are accounted for.
Is this true?

I have heard the same, but I have no idea how to verify those claims. ~$heopleNation

What if the invaders in Crimea were actually Crimean separatists with military equipment provided by the Russians? This would change the story BIG TIME!

russia is anything but stable financially in fact i think thats part of the reason behind this ukraine occupation. There wealth is dependent on a couple of companies that billionaires created and Putin owns stock in as well. There assests are tied up in stock and gas futures. Though there debt isnt as great without sales to Europe especially gas there economy falls apart. As far as US debt couldnt agree more were in trouble you cant spend your way out of debt. If things dont change soon our economy will crash but yet again we are giving away money Kerry just gave a Billion dollars to a country of no interest to the United States. I say the EU should have ponied up the money since they are partly responsible by enticing Ukraine into the EU. If they would have let them be Russia wouldnt have felt threatened and would continue selling them gas.

The police where all around them its a square in the middle of Kiev. Meaning there are streets and buildings on all sides so proving a shot hit protestors means nothing since there would have been officers there as well.

Well then it must be true... Police have said they wasn't shot from the police side even tho they was surrounded and barricaded In With lots of high buildings all around them

Perfect hunting grounds for a spetnaz sniper tho

If the "plan b" invasion by Moscow in Ukraine isn't giving anybody any hints as to who might be responsible for trying and wanting to crush the majority opposition, and dropping protesters with shots directly to the heart and head and lungs isn't obvious then I guess it was a couple of bad shots and a case of mistaken identity

The best way to handle an angry person like Putin is to simply turn on him and walk away, refusing to listen to his ranting. Words are not the solution to the nutty things a man says; firm, quiet, reasoned-out actions are. Reacting in anger to an angry person doesn't work. Watchful waiting and firmness do. If Western leaders act quietly, firmly and without wavering, this situation can be frozen at the point it is now and kept from spreading further. Now is the time to decide how to handle this , not when his next grab for power takes place. Putin has revealed his paranoia. When dealing with a paranoid person, one must 'talk him down' carefully, but always know he is essentially a loose cannon -- and always will be.

Putin is not the loose cannon here. You may like to look closer to home to find your loose cannon, in fact lots and lots of loose cannons. Start with the big white house in DC and spread out from there. McCain is a loose cannon, rusty too.

Russian forces have invaded the sovereignty of Ukraine and Ukraine has a right to protect itself from foreign invasion. Would consideration drafting up a military scaled plan to re-occupy areas that have been seized by Russian forces by a bilateral agreement with Russia and then start peaceful and democratic elections for the people of Ukraine ?

Unfortunately I don't see this happening any time soon.

So the next plan is other means of intervention, this could be precise and tactical ones by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and any other forces that might stand by. I know ukraine have called up their reservists and are preparing them for possible conflict.

Will it come to that, only time will tell.

Whether dialog between Russia and Ukraine through political perseverance will work is another.

Ukraine is not going to stand by forever and let foreign troops walk in and take over without peaceful resolutions.

Some opinions from body-language experts of today press conference of Putin

At times slouching in a chair, Putin might have seemed — at first glance — relaxed as he discussed the Russian military intervention that has put Moscow at odds with the West.

But Joseph Tecce, a psychology professor and body-language scholar at Boston College, said Putin's "unusual" number of quick head movements suggested he was feeling anxious. He licked his lips frequently, a sign of a dry mouth that also conveys unease.

"Early on, he shifts his body posture to be somewhat tilted in an attempt to relax more, another indication that he was feeling tense," Tecce said.

Erik Bucy, a professor at Texas Tech University who researches non-verbal communication, said that it's clear Putin is trying to make his case calmly even though his words are "quite combative."

"Non-verbally, this is Gorbachev; verbally, we’re listening to Brezhnev," he said, referring to former Soviet leaders. "In this sense his demeanor is deceptive, precisely because it doesn’t appear outwardly belligerent."

Tecce noted the living-room-type setting seemed calculated to evoke informality. The reporters were all young and had to ask their questions at the start.

"Thus, he essentially gave a lecture to a group of students and had full control of the continuity of his remarks," Tecce said.

"His eye contact during the monologue was good and his smiling helped engage the audience. He even seemed to enjoy being the teacher educating his young Russian colleagues."

But as time went on, Putin's facial expressions showed more aggression, Bucy said.

He bared his lower teeth — "a clear anger/threat display" — and furrowed his brow. His rate of speech sped up and he used an angry tone.

"His hand gestures, even though cupped, also become increasingly demonstrative — open hand gestures transform into fist pumps that are used with angry verbal expressions," Bucy said.

Since your not from the United States ill excuse you for not knowing everyone tiinks McCain is a loose cannon and no one takes his rantings seriously. As far As Obama hes the opisit hes overly cautious and reluctant to do anything unless he can get backing. Now Putin hes off his rocker even surpassing McCain which isnt easy trust me. The funny part about your quote is you think your taking a dig at Americans and well we all know Mccains a joke if only we could convince his home district but hey its probably the heat it affects their judgement.

Now if you dont think Putin is a glory seeking megalomaniac i suggest you look at the press he received in the past. I mean the guy thinks hes a wrestler or something trying to take off his shirt for the press and growling. The Russians are scared of him even when he cant run for office they created a new position for him.(meaning he wasnt willing to step down. he still stayed in power does this tell you something about him? Hes former KGB never let go of the cold war and like all spies deeply paranoid to the point of being crazy. His actions are even in Russia considered undemocratic but conveniently his opposition seems to disappearor jailed like in the case of singers whos last name ends in riot. Protestors on the street were arrested as well this will end his career however since now he costing the oligarchs huge amount of money they're losing billions daily.I think this time he over estimated his abilities but no surprize there but if he needs an ego boost he can always pick up some women im sure his new girlfriend will understand since she was banging him while he was married.
