One of my absolute favorites, and one of the few movies in which the sense of the book is well-translated. Hard to go wrong with King; he describes just enough to kick-start our imaginations, and the worst horrors are created there.

ETA: Currently reading Hunter S. Thompson's Screwjack.

Except he sometimes doesn't know how to end things...but I still love seeing adaptations of his work.

"Needful Things" is one of the best translations (I think). Usually though, takes a mini-series to even try and do his work justice.

I think King's best movie is "The Mist". Except for the ending it is almost scene for scene the same as the book. I really hope the Dark Tower project is going to get the attention and backing it deserves to really shine, kind of like the Game of Thrones franchise has.

Needful Things was very well done. I know what you mean by mini-series -- Tommyknockers, Langoliers, The Stand.

The rare case where King's ending in the book was actually better than the movie. The movie ending totally killed its box office. Other than that though, yeah, the movie did a good job of translation.

I had to look that one up. I think it's the only one of his I didn't read. It sounds like it would be good.
