Debunkers, you've got to really do better on this one if you plan to pull this into the world of the mundane. It is simply not a weather event or anything ordinary. It is causing the ground to shake for as long as the sound is happening.

Anyone's opinion welcome...including debunkers...

I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I was leaving a store yesterday (April 2nd) and I heard s similar undulating sound. I asked my wife if she heard it and she asked "heard what". We got into our car and drove home (about 2 kilometres). By the time I got home I forgot about it until coming back to ATS and seeing the thread..

Has anyone experienced the sound with someone else around who did not heard it? I'm asking because maybe it was just in my head (which I doubt!)....

That is the exact sound that we heard, I can only describe it as a flame pop from when you try to spark light a torch with too much O2 on, but on a massive scale and in different successive tempos!

I live in GA. near Atltanta and have been hearing this sound for I would say at least a couple of months now. It is not constant, rather I hear it every once and a while. I know I am not crazy because the wife has heard it as well clear as day. The best way I can describe it is pretty much like most say a long deep low sound very similar to a jet plane passing over but it goes on for much longer. Usually it lasts for a minute to a couple of minutes. At first I thought it was a plane too, but a jet plane unless it is very low will not cause the ground to shake. I have felt a very mild yet noticeable vibration in the floor of my living room when it occurs in addition to of course the rumbling! Sorry folks, I have no video of anything but will try to catch it next time I hear it. I live out in the middle of nowhere in a very small subdivision so I am quite sure that what I have heard is not of the norm. The odd thing is that many have said that there dogs would go nuts from this happening, but as far as I can remember my three dogs have had no reaction to it that I am aware of. Very weird stuff going on indeed. That's my 2 cents. Hope I could be of some help here..I

Yeah that's still the way it is here in MD for me. I don't even bother trying to note when it occurs. I gave up. I think it just has to be military jets or something like that. I just don't understand why it's either one jet crisscrossing and flying over the same area over and over again or a constant stream of them to cause a repeat in the sound for hours at a time. It is most noticeable on overcast days and very late at night. So I guess I'd better re read that info on atmospheric lensing. Of course, I still have to wonder why I never was bothered by this normal atmospheric phenomena before in my four decades on this planet.

It is not unprecedented to have military jets fly over our area over and over again. One day they circled up there for around an hour. But I could SEE them, that was the difference. Now, overcast or not, I see NOTHING. it's just a sound, no visuals at all. But my animals are not freaking out either. Neighbor dogs seem cool, too. So, I guess it is just planes. I can't see them, but they are up there.

Lol, no I don't think they are cloaked. I think there's a logical mundane explanation that will eventually become apparent to me. Meanwhile, I can't help but be astounded at how much jet fuel is being consumed to make such an annoying racket.

Yup, its definitely heard here in Ontario, Canada. I live maybe 20 mins from niagara falls( not that it matters just for a reference point for my locale). It is normally around 4 a.m. that I have heard it. Ive been hearing it for the past month on and off. Sometimes it happens around 7 a.m. I just played it off to some guys doing excavations in the area in the morning. But the one at night always creeps me out. It seems like it is my dog that wakes me up to this though because she jumps up and runs out the bedroom door barking. The thing that worries me most is that peoples dogs are barking and seeing or hearing something we arent. And from what I know animals feel tsunamis, hurricanes and the seasons before we do, so something must be up. Anyone else in the NF area feel these?

Not sure if anybody has figured out what the noise is yet, I'll look through the thread later. But I just heard it here, and it went on for AT LEAST 15 minutes. I called my parents to let them listen to it. It had already been going on for at least 5 minutes, and I spent 13 minutes on the phone with her.

It was very loud. I noticed it because it kept on going for a few minutes, and then seemed like it just stopped. I DO live very close to a small airport here in SE Connecticut. Just a couple of miles away. Mostly small planes going in and out of there, but there's also a military part I think and sometimes we get some very loud black hawks or something. They fly right over the house. But this didn't sound like helicopters. It sounded like a jet flying low, but just hanging out up there. I tried to look for it, but it's a rainy, overcast day today. It was very loud and kept on going, but sometimes it did seem like it was a little further away because it got a little bit quieter. So maybe something was up there in a holding pattern for 15 minutes or so?? It was really cool to listen to, but I started to worry that maybe there was a tornado somewhere, but I've never experienced a tornado that I can remember, so I don't know what those sound like anyway.

So there's my experience. It sounded like a jet, just louder than I've heard and it just kept going. I'm not sure how it ended. It did get quieter, but I went inside and was getting off the phone. I was going to go back out and see if it trailed away but it stopped already. I imagine that it was something in a holding pattern up above the clouds, but I'm not sure about the break in the noise when I first started hearing it. It seemed like it just stopped and then started back up a minute later or so. If I hear it again, I'll go back out and see how it ends, if it stops abruptly, or trails off, or if it is louder or quieter when it stops.

Does an overcast sky do anything to sound??

It was happening between about 11:05am to 11:25am.

My mom has been saying her dog is acting weird(er)

She lives in northcentral PA and said that he just starts barking and gets very agitated. She says it is a bark like he hears something "out of the ordinary" but he never seems to pinpoint where it is coming from. Like he doesn't run to the door or to the closet like maybe if he hears a mouse (she lives in the country). He barks but just randomly runs around in circles all over.

There is some active gas industry activity in the area although I don't know that there is any current drilling or blasting going on. I do know a year or so ago there was some blasting....and he would react but would seem to understand it was outside and south of her house. Not like he is acting now.....

Yea quite strange. I dont know my dog is really laid back and usually doesn't get bothered by too much. So its kind of wierd to see her acting this way. Who knows though, I really dont think much can be found other than speculation on this though. Im def interested in the theories on it. Im still waiting on the shaking though. Thats yet to be felt

Heard a constant rumble in Detroit at about 7 am, while it was raining. It went on consistently for a good half hour before I gave up and went to bed. It's now mid-day and I don't hear it, though it's hard to tell with all the traffic.

I don't know if this was "the sound" or not but this morning I was pretty convinced. It sounded distant though, coming from the west, maybe around Dearborn, and maybe 15 mins later it seemed more to the northeast - which is consistent with a lot of the patterns we've heard here. Anyway it wasn't loud enough to shake the ground or floor or anything.

I would chalk it up to traffic but when no cars were around it was still there, like thunder but non-stop. And when I closed the window I could still hear it pretty clearly.

Also, my cell phone network has been strangely inaccessible today, for what it's worth.

I know this will sound a little "out there" but just in case this could add something to the discussion....

I have noticed about 3-4 times in the last maybe two weeks that the sound in my house will suddenly feel very amplified. The best way I can explain what I mean is to compare to a past experience....

In the school where I was a music student years ago....there was what I'll call a "sweet spot" in our recital hall where if you stood just in the right place you would sound as if you were standing inside a cone and your voice would suddenly be amplified and seem very clear (for lack of a better way to put it). We used to hang out in there and it was rather common to see someone trying to find the sweet spot....

Anyway, I think this is the only reason I even noticed what I am referring to because I experienced it before. The first time I was on my second floor talking to someone and suddenly I noticed the "sweet spot" - like someone flipped a switch. I attributed it to maybe my ears popping or something but then it happened, as I said 2-3 times more. The second time I went into my basement and outside to see if maybe it was something with the first floor (I don't know what) but the phenomena was the same. It isn't just the sound either, it is a feeling - like standing under a low ceiling.

Could it be that maybe something in the atmosphere is holding the sound down in some way, and that is why people are hearing rumbling from far away? Like the sky is acting as a big amplifier somehow? This happened yesterday and it was extremely overcast; not sure about the other days though. If anyone else has experienced this (especially if you are in a place where the rumbling has been heard) it would be interesting to hear about it. The rumblings have been heard around my area but I can't say for sure I have heard them myself......

Nkinga,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you on that channel 7 report that I told you I saw the change. Even to putting in Long Island protest about flight pattern change. Surprise, surprise, surprise, could not find it. It may be up now but I have been dealing with some other "odd earth issues" that I will be posting in the appropriate post.
I will look again for the news cast I saw so I can post it. I am sure the states that they are now going to fly over may not even know about the change and start freaking out because there are more things they can not see that are leaving chem trails and loud noises in their back yard but nothing can be seen.

Well I suppose you are correct on the new and improved foods that will be glowing in the dark for us to find much easier and don't worry, eventually every one will get used to the light green color of the milk they are drinking, it is natural after all if you listen to the mainstreams beliefs. I personally don't feel like glowing in the dark, it takes all the fun out of hide and seek. Hehe. Anyway, moving forward...

I agree that I may not have written that in the best way to explain, am working on that as well.

The guy reporting said that the flights should be at a high enough altitude but there may be noise. Long Island residents are saying bogus, if they wanted to hear the jets at night they would have bought land and a house by the airports and paid less than what they did to stay away from the flight plan. I should have written down the town who was upset.

I am not exactly sure why they changed the flight plan and they really did not give an explination that night, they talked about how it was going to chang, showed the map with yellow arrows pointing in a circular way up then curving back down out to the ocean. I thought it was a bit odd, so I wanted to bring it up. They could be doing both but the states they are flying over have some very important military bases where their new flight pattern is.
Cold weather training does not just happen at Wainwrite (spelling) in Alaska but also upstate NY in the forest and such, not sure where but it is there. They were flying over Conn and Vermont as well and if I remember correctly Vermont also has a stratigic base. (Dad was a chem specialist in the Marines and Ex was a mechanic stationed in Alaska so I am lucky to have such info)
However honestly, if by chance the meadia in the places where the new flights will happen may surprise the people and create more chaos. Remember what we were warned about in Men In Black about people...hehe. A point I try to be mindful about when I am writing a story of what is the chaos that will be created if I do this and what is the chaos if I don't. It is a judgement call I suppose. I do agree though a lot are on high alert and panic would not be good for any involved, including themselves.

Very true that even the electrical devices we trust to help us can also be used by people who know how to do it, create a panic by exactly what you said. If you were not there pictures, words, and sounds can now be added in for chaos control. Absolutley and you bring up some very good points.

I understand you would not do that, nor would any of the rest of us who are using this medium to help each other make it to the next level in life so to say. We are not like the ones who need that greed and gold and oil not realizing eventually that will turn to dust as well and be no more. I agree with you about the rumblings. I have noticed that the very loud noises I had been hearing have all but stopped but in the time that I have written this there have been at least five planes or jets passing by my house. I am by the LIE so right next to JFK I believe. Ok am working on the landmarks too but I know how to find the Statue of Liberty...hehe.

this past sunday I was sitting on the phone with my mom when I heard a sound that seemed to come from everywhere all at once. It was louder than anything I had ever heard in my life and seemed as if it were on the roof it felt so close. My partner and I had joked about the rumbling noise before as I keep him up to date on ATS happenings. We looked at eachother and it was a moment of "holy S**T!". Im not too far from the airport and planes fly over my house all the time, as do choppers but I have NEVER heard anything like what I did on sunday. It didnt last as long as some of you have reported but it definitely left an impression on me. I am in southeastern PA.

I am hearing it now, it started about 4 or 5 minutes ago, and I can hear it as I type, Maryland, at least my area just started clearing skies and the storm is long gone, birds are singing and this sounds keeps going on, it sounds like a plane that never stops, and it sorta sounds like it's rumbling, and I can hear it above all else, I heard it two days ago too, the same sound.

I live in the Netherlands (Europe) and I have never heard this sound altough, during my periodical lurking time, I read something about someone also active on this board stating that he lives in the Netherlands and also heard the sound. I'm wondering where that person lives. I live in a state called Overijssel in a place near the German border and I'm very curious. I've seen the 'sound-video' and heard the noise in that youtube video and it really gave me goose bumbs. I know how jet planes and helicopters sounds but this sounds like a broken dubstep audio-sample.

Hopefully we will discover the source of the sound before it's too late...

Yay, so I'm not the only crazy chick in MD hearing this stuff!

I got a chance to go out and make some observations under "big sky country" or the closest thing we have to it in MD. I watched and listened to a lot of planes go by. I noticed in some cases there was a huge distance between where I saw a plane and where it's sound seemed to come from. This made the sound seem to linger a long time. So I'm guessing there's a mundane atmospheric explanation going on.

At one point I saw a silver colored commercial jet and I turned away for a moment to untangle my dog's leash and looked up again and the jet was gone from sight and sound, but there were no clouds thick enough to hide it. There was nothing but wide open sky and a bright sunny day.
That will be one I will just have to chalk up to observer error somehow. There was no contrail for me to follow, either. I am going to hazard a guess that it simply went to where glare from sunlight prevented me from seeing it. That makes sense and is perfectly plausible.

But I saw nothing nor heard nothing akin to the very deep bass omnidirectional rumbling many of us have experienced in addition to the seeming never-ending or sustained regular airplane noise from " invisible
airplanes". I don't have a clue what causes the former, but I suspect the latter is just ordinary airplanes sounding extraordinary due to atmospheric interaction with sound.

The atmosphere itself is a whole different topic for conjecture. I've never paid one whit of heed to the chem trail theories but I have to admit there are more planes in the sky flying in what seems to be aimless or odd crossing paths than I'd ever noticed before in my life. I first noticed this about five years ago. Maybe six. Now so many of us are reporting the same pattern of a few sunny days punctuating periods of thick overcast weather. It makes me go hmmmm. But this could just be a new natural phase with the weather. I've gotten so used to either drought or monsoon type weather I may have forgotten what moderate weather is like.

I have been hunting and fishing in northern Québec about 20 times since the sixties . My favorite spot is located 1500 miles north of Montreal and , every time i have been there my friends ( partners ) and i alwyays hear that continuous sound like a grader working on a road 2 miles away. But there is no road or hydro works for at least 500 miles around us.
At first, we tought it was comming from our heads and bush pilots tought it was the remanant sound of their engine
I also tought it was comming from a big caribou herd on the move but when you fly out and see the immensity around you and that nothing can explain that sound, you feel like we don't know much about our planet

when I watched the video on youtube "what's this noise" it reminded me of a night I woke up from what sounded like the sound of engines from an airplane flying by, the sound was loud and stayed for hours as if the plane kept on one place.
The next day it was reported that it had to do with the industry close by named the Botlek.

I decided to google it but could not find the news from years back, I found a news item about people in Spijkenisse (city close to Rotterdam) where the people had been awoken by the same sound and it lasted for hours. It happened on the same date as on the youtube video, 9 march 2011.
And as I recall it was the same sound as the youtube movie when I heard it back then.
In the Netherlands they blame it on the industry (petrochemie)

I have a link but it is in Dutch

just heard it again not even 30 minutes ago. This time I was giving the kids their lessons and we all heard it. They too know about the rumbling noise and the three of us bolted out onto the porch and began to search the sky like mad. It is a very cloudy, rainy day today and the sky appeared normal save for the sound that was coming from everywhere and nowhere all at once. My daughters exact words were.."Go check ATS!"...*sniff*..Im so proud
