No, what was stopped on Jan 6th was the 10 day hold on the verification process and audit of the election fraud in swing States.

Nope. What was stopped, on Jan 6th, was the actual constitutionally mandate counting of and certification of each states electoral votes. It was only Mike Pence's tenacity that got Congress member's butts back in their seats to finish the job in a constitutionally timely manner.

A BLM mob stopped the Federal courthouse from operating for 50 days in Portland, OR , That mob torched and lit fire to a Federal courthouse multiple times and assaulted numerous Federal officers as well.

Yet no one was called an “insurrectionist”

Hundreds of people seceded from the United States and created a new country called “ CHAZ AUTONOMOUS ZONE” for months.

Yet no one was called an “insurrectionist”

This word “insurrection” is political rhetoric and only is used as a political weapon and propaganda for the left to serve their sinister purposes.

Again, our democracy was never in danger. The rioters w were not coordinated and didn’t even have AR-15s or were armed. The capital police were ordered to stand down and were woefully unprepared for the protests.

For hundreds of years there have been protests as big as that one in front of the Capitol. And no issues

Where were the park police horses that are usually used for riot control? Usually there are 50-100 horses. I know I grew up in the area and saw them as a kid all the time by the mall.

So I’m not big Trump fan, but what the Democrats are doing is disgusting and this needs to be stoped here and now.

Same here and I agree.

He hasn't been convicted of insurrection. The Democrats are just accusing him and taking him off the ballot because of accusations. That now means that anyone can accuse anyone of anything at anytime just to get them off the ballots.

Everyone gets DUE PROCESS! No matter how much you don't like them.

So you don’t agree that Trump has a 1st amendment right to say what he wants to say in a free country?

Why can’t Trump say those things about pence?

This is political speech protected by the 1sr amendment.

The dems after Trump won in 2016 put out a commercial with a bunch of celebrities like Martin Sheen specifically intended for the Electoral college urging the electoral college to vote for Hillary against the wishes of those states. They created a commercial interfering with the electoral college vote count.

Yet they aren’t called insurrectionists

Were any of them officers under the USA who violated their sworn oath and then tried to run for an office under the USA or any state?

This word “insurrection” is political rhetoric and only is used as a political weapon and propaganda for the left to serve their sinister purposes.

Yet, the word is deliberately cited, right next to the word "rebellion", in the 14th Amendment, Section 3. Also, we have several convictions for "seditious conspiracy" for Jan 6th perpetrators.

What I'm saying is, that if not for VP Mike Pence, Trump's plan may NOT have failed, and he could be sitting in the Oval Office right now.

How did they try to overthrow the us government?

The Constitution, not the government. They did stop the electoral count.

Mike Pence refused the Secret Service order to him to "get in the car", and made sure Congress reconvened THAT DAY, so that the constitutional process could be timely fulfilled, taking away any possibility Trump would succeed in stalling the count, creating electoral chaos and staying in office.

but Trump didn't did he 😃

And we’d all have 100,000 dollars more in our bank account, we wouldn’t have handled the Afghanistan exit the way we did, and we wouldn’t have wasted almost a trillion dollars on Ukraine.

And we’d have the legitimate POTUS in office.

And he would have shot down the Chinese spy balloon.

Aww democrats... nothing to run on so try to use an activist judge to keep people off the ballot.

Since 1860 its a democrat tradition.

Problem being the 14th was written to prevent actual rebels from office, not people that were around or involved in a riot, and certainly not people that have yet to be charged or convicted of the crime of insurrection.

We have something called DUE PROCESS you clowns, till its run its course and a conviction is achieved you have to suck it up and run on your record.

The SCOTUS may be focusing on the "Due Process" points, and on the issues of what hearsay was allowed (especially from The Jan6 Committee report), including the hearsay testimony in the original "trial" from Eric Swalwell. 🆘

Trump attorneys were cited for not "proving" anything from The Jan6 Committee Report was false (WHAT!, prove the hearsay was hearsay?) 🤣

SCOTUS may rule those parts of The 14th may only apply to Confederate States associations, and therefor may now be obsolete (all people are now deceased). 😊

Insurrection is codified under US statute for a reason.

18 U.S. Code § 2383 - Rebellion or insurrection

The word insurrection is a legal term. Under federal law it’s a crime to incite or engage in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the U.S. or its laws. Black’s Law Dictionary defines insurrection as “a violent revolt against oppressive authority.” It is to be distinguished from a mob or riot based on organization of an armed uprising. Mobs and riots can involve unlawful and violent acts, but they aren’t necessarily insurrections. A revolt is an act to overthrow the government. Insurrection, therefore, requires an organized group that plans an attack to overthrow the government.

Historically, Shays’ Rebellion (1786-1787), the Whiskey Rebellion (1790), and Fries Rebellion (1799) were actual acts of insurrection.

Post-Civil War, the Wilmington Insurrection (1898) is by far worse than Jan. 6. Another one, the Battle of Athens, TN (1946), involved local armed WWII GIs taking over the town, forcing the corrupt sheriff to hide in the jail clinging to the election ballot boxes, until he finally surrendered and the GIs’ candidate won the election.

So my question is how can you claim that Trump was an insurrectionist when none of the 1280 jan6 defendants have been charged with or better yet convicted under this code of :

18 U.S. Code § 2383 ?

And seditious conspiracy is NOT insurrection under the law. And that was 4-5 guys

Most Jan 6 people were convicted of non/violent trespassing charges.

Are you saying Trump was the only insurrectionist that day? Just because you think he said some words?

The rally wasn't called the "Stop the Steal" rally for nothing.

The question really isn't about the mob, and the mob's failure to completely overtake the federal government. It's about Donald Trump's extent of engagement in "insurrection", and part of that is the pressure he put on Mike Pense to violate the US Constitution by refusing to count certain states electoral votes, and/or maybe count the fake alternate elector's numbers.

Trump used the mob to stop the count and intimidate and manipulate the legislators and Mike Pense into refusing to accept electoral votes from states that he lost, so that he could stay in office.

OK so using a mob to stop congress from operating IS an insurrection, is that right?

Does anyone know what insurrection "definition" was used or cited in the CO case and CO Supreme Court Ruling?

Note: The 14th Amendment does not define what "insurrection" is (or was "at the time" the 14th was written). 😃
