Timothy Thibault, a top-level FBI agent who had been under fire for his role in investigations regarding President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, resigned late last week and was walked out of the FBI, two U.S. officials confirmed. But these officials also said that Thibault had reached retirement age, and they added that all of those who retire hand over their badge and gun and are escorted out of the building.
Thibault was one of 13 assistant special agents in charge at the Washington field office. He was not involved in the FBI raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate earlier this month at any level.
The FBI told Fox News it does not comment on personnel matters. Grassley’s office did respond to Fox News' request for comment before publication.
The Washington field office is led by the Assistant Director in Charge. That has been Steven D'Antuono since 2020.

The Washington field office is led by the Assistant Director in Charge. That has been Steven D'Antuono since 2020. Under him there are four Special Agents in Charge and an Intelligence Analyst in Charge. Each SAC heads a separate division. The division that handled the MAL was the Counterintelligence division. Anthony Riedlinger has been the SAC for that division since last year.
Thibault was an Assistant Special Agent in Charge. I can't find any specific reference to what division he was the ASAC for but based off a news story from 2020, it looks like he was part of the Criminal/Cyber Division, which has been headed by Wayne Jacobs since last year.
The magistrate that signed off on the warrant was from the Southern District of Florida.

You mean the case that just resulted in two convictions on the federal level and is currently in preliminary hearings at the state level to charge six others?

Two were found not guilty. Two had a mistrial and were found guilty in their second trial. One plead guilty. Those were all the ones with federal charges.
But there's six others that have state charges. They're currently in preliminary hearings.
That's certainly a lot of arrests for something you guys try to claim was nothing.
