Ukrainian Army must take Thursdays off or something. Since resistance seems to be confined to random, singular jeeps and APCs who presumably got lost on the way to the local tavern and crossed paths with the Russians.

Also they didn't seem to bother to lay a single minefield, dig a single tank ditch, or set up any defences whatsoever.

Despite the billions and billions in military aid they got for almost a decade.

Very Curious isn't it - USA has been pumping so much in ...

90 tons of U.S. military aid arrives in Ukraine as border tensions with Russia rise

U.S. Sent 30 Anti-Tank Missile Systems To Ukraine In October, Pentagon Says

Wonder who we really delivered it to .....

Biden last June
White House freezes Ukraine military package that includes lethal weapons
Officials prepped $100 million worth of arms as Russia massed troops on the border, then put it on pause as the Biden-Putin summit approached.

Taking the MSM word for anything going on is the definition of insanity .... they have proven that - beyond reasonable doubt - for the past few years

Apparently the Ukraine ranks 5th in the world for civilian casualties via landmines and E.R.W and it's in the top 3 where accidents that involve antivehicle landmine incidents is concerned.

I think i seen minefields marked on the NEWS vids where the front lines were concerned via red ribbons on the trees.

Also seen antitank concrete pillars across the roads and highways, easily removed all the same by the looks of things.

If it was OK for the US in Kosovo

Is this on the excuses crib sheet handed out?

Frankly it’s incomparable to what Russia is doing in Ukraine - more in line with the idiotic adventures in to Iraq if anything. However, as Kosovo is European it serves as somewhere with more geographical significance to the events unfolding.

This is an absolutely ridiculous move by Putin, making NO logical sense in any way. NATO has not and would never have attacked Russia. Other countries bordering Russia are already in NATO. Economic sanctions in Russia will be massive and vastly damaging. There is no guarantee Putin wins. NONE of it makes any sense militarily, politically or economically. Perhaps, then, Putin has indeed lost his mind.

Region declares independence, central government cracks down on then, larger power steps in to support new state.

Similar to me.

Similar ?
The same (90% anyway)

Yo9u and I agree for one of the few times

That's depends on how far Russia decides to invade the nation i suppose.

I don't imagine this is going to be warfare by the conventional means.

If it continues after a while its going to become a protracted occupation and guerrilla war.

Based on your link, it looks like Biden might have been right at the end of January about NATO possibly having divided views on how to handle a "minor incursion".

I guess we'll hear more about what Biden's plans are at 12:00 pm EST today (according to news reports), which means we might actually see Joe's face on live broadcast an hour or two later than that.

Well looks like a Ukrainian transport craft with 14 on board was shot down, and another Russian chopper went down over a lake. Pilot can be seen landing, probably being interrogated as we speak.

Since 2014, Ukrainian national socialists /nazis, have been on the rise, without governmental put down and with no comments from the west.

This explains Russia's outlook .
Didn't the current leadership in the Ukraine overthrow the legitimate leadership there ?
Folks forget history .

That would make sense. NATO is a defensive organization and since Ukraine is not a member there's no reason for NATO to be involved.

That said, many of the leading NATO members agreed to the Budapest Memorandum that said Ukraine would be defended from Russian aggression in exchange for giving up their nukes.

I just heard a news report stating that they think this will drag on for at least a month and possibly months.

The smart nation would have kept a few in reserve for just this occasion.

Considering what was stationed there and the madness that took place when the CCCP was falling apart you have to wonder if they still have a few old warheads tucked away just in case?

I know i would have if i was in charge.

The NOTAM Russia issued for Ukraine isn't set to expire until May 18th. So it at least looks like Russia is expecting a protracted invasion.

It’d really suck to get vapourized by nukes because Western Leaders want to help this regime. Joe Biden has Alzhiemer's and doesn't know his pudding cup from the launch button.

There. I think that is a more accurate assessment.

Yes but the way I remember it, that government (Viktor Yanukovych's) that was over thrown was a Russian Puppet.
