I saw in the pics where Saddam hide in the farms there were two American Soliders behind them Date Plam tree full with Dates!!!!!!!????????

I am from Mid-East and I Know the Date Palmes very well..
The Dates not grow in the winter at all..
It needs hot weather.
The maxium session for dates is at the end of September..
Now, We are in Decmber???!!!

Hi Yakyaki, thats interesting. It could be a fake, except I have seen video on the news about it all shot yesterday, not everyone can be fooled. And I imagine that all the media there would pick up on it as well.

I think that maybe dates do grow there then?

are you trying to say that there are photos that appear to be taken earlier this year? I thought it was hot in iraq all the time? You're response is a little difficult to read...I mean no offense by that...let me try to decipher it.

Its possible that he was caught earlier and kept for Intel reasons, but I doubt it. There is no more benefit catching him now, than there wouldve been then. Everything reported on when he was caught seems legit to me. I seen Bushs and Rumsfields faces after he was caught and TV and they can barely contain themselves.

Actually, there is a lot of benefit for the Bush Administration to catch Saddam now. Bush looks like a hero, at the present, for the capture of Saddam. It will boost his ratings. Now, within the next 8-10 months, the UN can install a govt there and Bush will send troops home, in time for the next election, making him look like a hero yet again. And who will win the election? Bush of course. This could not have happened at a better time for the Bush Administation.

Would have been better if Saddam was found dead. This could backfire on Bush just as easy.

Actually, dates that are harvested in Iraq between the months June and early October. I'm not sure where it says what you quoted from the link that you gave, but I don't think that is the harvesting time in Iraq.I believe that is for the US. So, if they are harvested between June and October in Iraq, those trees should be empty or those dates should be dried up.
