I agree. I think that various leaders just say all of this stuff, including talking about democracy, freedom, and so on so that the uneducated public is satisfied. A actual politician or leader here and abroad would have to be either stupid or un-educated to actually believe the posturing. I'm sure Putin just laughs ruefully when the U.S. says all this.
