I've got a good anti-septic ointment that might help you with that problem?

I've just checked online and both pepper guns and tazers are highly illegal in the UK. I am however allowed to spray people in the face with a red paint that sticks to them for days so police can identify them. I'm going to have to do a lot of research I think.

The paint spray is from a UK prepper site and kind of looks OK.

I typed tazer into google and clicked the first site without checking if it was UK and there are pink pepper guns for American ladies!!! You guys get all the fun! I have a hand bag in the same colour and it's in my price range! AAARRRGGGHHH. I wish I hadn't seen it now.

Morning you lovely rainbow people!

Tsu, what a scary experience.

Well talk about scary...Last night around ten o:clock I get this call and it sounded exactly like my Mom who is still in the hospital. She is saying, "I don't feel good, I don't feel good, I think I'm going to pass out, oh my heart..." I was panic stricken. I kept saying "Mom, call your nurse, press the button!!!!!". She says, "What button? Oh, the alert button?" I said, "YES!" She kept repeating how she didn't feel good, felt weak and might pass out and about her heart. I kept repeating to press the button and call her nurse. In between that I'm trying to dial the hospital number on my cell phone and explain to the nurses station to check on my Mother and about my phone call.

They said her nurse has been with her and she is just fine and she is in there now. They thought I might be crazy. They don't let you call after 9 so my Mom insisted they call my sister. She didn't know which one of it was that was so upset and flipping out and was all worried. They got ahold of her and she called me asking what the hell is going on. I explained. She then called and explained to the nurses what happened.

It was like hearing my Mom dying on me and no one around to help her. I was frantic. And I don't know who actually called.

Hi Night.

Now wonder you panicked, that sounds really horrible!

Do you think it could have been someone playing a sick prank? There are some really messed up people out there. Is there any way to trace the number? Maybe contact your phone provider?

Massive hugs sister.

Hey Tsusis!
Sorry to hear about your horrible experience.
I agree with many of our Shemily's previous suggestions on the matter.
Stay Safe.

I used to be chair of our local Community Council.
And we had a lot of dealings direct with the local police, who attended all of our meetings.

One thing that I noticed at the time, was regarding the information on their Police Website and Facebook pages.
They NEVER liked to post anything alarming or un-settling there, no matter how big a danger or threat was perceived to be present at the time, but they would subtly mention, in a round-about way, to get in touch if similar incidents occurred.
e.g. If there were a lot of break-ins, they would NEVER admit or say that there were a lot of break-ins on their website, but they'd hint "If anyone notices anyone acting strangely in their neighbourhood... to get in touch"
Or words to that effect.

Well, on a hunch, I just checked Gwent Police's web postings... and guess what?
THIS was posted just 7 hours ago -

from Gwent Police facebook Page:
Today is National Stalking Awareness Day. The theme for this year is Working Without Fear#NSAD14 If you or someone you know is being stalked, there is help available. Ring the National Stalking Helpline 0808 802 0300 or email: [email protected] You can also click on the link below for personal safety tips on travelling safely to work.

LINK HERE

In my experience, the Police don't just post "awareness" stuff for no reason.
I'd guess that they already KNOW there is a stalking issue in the area, and are subtly asking for more info without alarming anyone un-necessarily.

I'd definitely recommend getting in touch with them and giving them full and detailed descriptions of what happened.

I hope this info helps.

Look after yourself, and Well Done You! for being aware enough, and smart enough to shake them off.

Hiya Gordi! Hugs!

Thank you so much! I checked the 101 number and they only have phone, they don't have email. I did find that Gwent police had an email so I was going to just contact them direct like that and maybe crimestoppers but I will contact that stalker helpline too.

I'm noting down everything that I remember, I have a lot of it recorded here to jolt my memory too.

Did you see the pic of the policeman at the top of the Gwent police site? That photo was taken about 50 meters from where I was sat. The white funny shaped bridge behind him is 'my' bridge. A few of us snuck onto it before it had been properly built to meet the banks. Party on an unbuilt bridge hehe.

No worries hunny.
That's some co-incidence (the bridge photo)!!
btw - Did you notice the "Caught On Camera" section just below that big photo of the Policeman?
Might be worth checking the mugshots to see if you recognise your guy??

I've already checked, I didn't see anyone on there that really looked like him but there are a lot of camaras around town so with any luck he will either be on that page soon or arrested.

I saw a page or two ago that Mam had her cast off? That's great news! Send her massive hugs from me!

I'm not really caught up on everything yet but I will get there soon I promise.

Regarding freedom of movement, I know what you mean. That's why it is important to contact the police and let them know about your concerns. Legally speaking, the person in question has infringed upon your human rights already, so it's important to give that the recognition it deserves, by calling down on him the full range of the possible tools you could bring to bear.

Regarding drinks, I shall have to devote some time to budgeting for a coach ride, and a pot of drinking money

LOL

I was reading your post and was thinking "What on earth happened to Jane?"
"Did I miss something?"

Then I went a couple of pages back and realized it's TSu who had the creepy stalker.

I had a stalker once. I was 18 years old, coming home from my friend's home, which was only 2 blocks away, and it was the city so very busy and crowded.

But this creepy guy kept following me. I kept turning around and every time I did, he looked down, so his hoody covered his face.

I was really worried, because I had to get home on time, and help cook dinner.
I got to our building's entrance, and he walked up to me and asked me for a lighter.
I told him I didn't have any and got my keys out to open the entrance door.
He grabbed my shoulder and said I looked like a girl who smoked...
I told him I had to get home, and that my parents were waiting for me.
Just then our neighbor opened the entrance, and saw the fear on my face and pretended to be my father and scared the man away.

I couldn't stop thanking him, and told my parents about it.
After that I never went out alone, even if it was early but dark. I always made sure I'd meet up with friends somewhere close to my home when going out.

Now thinking back, I should've kicked him or something, but I was frozen with fear.

Gosh it was 16 years ago, but I still remember it as if it was yesterday.
I haven't even told my husband this story, he's so protective of me, he'd just get upset.

Tsu hon....make sure (but I'm sure they'll ask) you give the number of the bus you were on....a lot of them have cameras now.

Unfortunately as you have found out, there are a lot of things like mace which are illegal in this country. What you have to do is think outside the box....eg....I used to carry a large'ish (slightly bigger than my hand) rose quartz in my bag and kept it in a side pocket so it wasn't buried....swing baby swing. I also made up a very concentrated solution with rosemary essential oil in a spray bottle...just a small one...use it to spray the chicken before I cook it don't I ?
. You could try vinegar...but you might not be able to explain that one away. Then there are those smaller versions of a baseball bat...women used them for exercising in the 40's and stuff....quite legal. I did panic when I procured what's known as an Equalizer though.......totally and highly illegal...classified as a lethal weapon....buried that in the landfill bin to get rid of it and moved my #1 wood into the house instead. The baseball bat Gordi picked up on in my kitchen is exactly where it is because son left it there when he came in didn't he....hehe.

I used to have a rape alarm.....get yourself a whistle instead....a refs whistle.

Keys might sound like a good idea (sorry jacy), but unfortunately it means you have to get up close and personal to land a punch...a man has a longer reach than you, and will know exactly how to render your punch useless and use it to get you into his grip. Always carry stuff that you can keep the assailant at more than an arms distance away from you. Wear your whistle around your neck....so after swinging your crystal laden bag and letting him get it off you...you leg it blowing your whistle like crazy.....you could also get yourself a small air horn!

The only problem with all the above of course is, if you actually get jumped....then its straight for the eyes....no question about it.

I really dislike the real world at times.

The important thing is you're safe, shaken, but safe.....now get your inner dragon going girl and get it reported asap.

Big rainbow hugs
Jane......pretending to be jacy

Hello Fellow Shedites! I am alive and mostly well. After a bit of Family Drama here at home, and a lot of computer probs, I am back online with another PC now. It's used, but working well enough that it will help me be able to try to get to some backreading, like 20 some odd pages, to see how you all have been doing.

Been trying to talk my wife into joining us here at the shed, but she seems to be hooked on facebook, but may come here if I keep on her about it. I Love Her Dearly and would love for her to be able to see how much deep friendship is shared in here.

You guys are the most caring and down to earth people I have met in a long long time.

I truly miss You ALL!

What with the weather getting better, and lots to do outside, I will be here sporadically and prob mostly at night.
Just giving fair warning, LOL!!

Sending a Friends Love to You ALL! Take Care and Be Good!

I heard a good one a while back and want to pass it along; "Remember, it's only Illegal if You are Caught" LOL!!!!!!

Pretending to be jacy? A Jane by any other name....

The only reason I mentioned the keys, is because I am often walking and holding my keys. If I poke them thru my fingers (hand in fist), at least I have something! (I also have a large very heavy purse, lol)
I used to carry little travel-size bottles of hairspray....but sometimes you don't have time to dig in your purse.

It's also important to remember that your safety comes before being embarrassed. These days, I'm not so shy anymore and would yell "Hey! Are you following me? This guy is following me!!" to alert ANYONE around me, and hopefully make him take off. A whistle is great, but not if it's buried in your bag.

So freaking sad that we even have to have this conversation, huh?

You had computer probs too? I feel you.
My laptop's hard drive crashed and I had to buy a new one.
It was such a pain. I had most of my files saved on a portable hard drive but a lot of photos were lost.

It took me 2 days to get everything sorted out.

That phone call would have drove me insane as well as my folks are up there in their years. I guess I'm lucky as I only have a cell phone so I always know who is calling. But every now and then, some one from the family calls at a odd hour and I can feel my blood pressure spiking.

Glad to hear everything is OK though. But it was stress you didn't really need. I hope your Ma comes home soon.
