TV's all-time most annoying characters?

Screech from "Saved By The Bell" was pleasant compared to Ross from "Friends". Ross whined more in one episode than all the toddlers in a day care whined in a month. I had a girlfriend that actually liked that show. I couldn't watch it because of Ross.
I told her I'd watch it if there was an episode that featured Ross getting bludgeoned.

I disagree with the list! I liked Dr Smith from "Lost In Space" and Mr. Howell from "Gilligan's Island". Gilligan was the annoying one! What a twit.

This little man thinks the key to being funny is yelling loud enough to draw sympathy laughs
He's obnoxious...reminds me of the class clown in 3rd grade who did the stupidest things..

I used to like the Drew Cary Show, until I moved to the town it was set in. And then I realized that the cast were mimicking the real life behavior. As a 1/2 hour show, it was funny. But dealing with some of these folks 24/7/365 can get on your nerves after a bit.

It has to be something in the water.

Craig Ferguson was the only redeeming factor in that show.

I used to be a big fan of "24". But I hated Chloe. I really wanted Jack to punch her in the throat when she started her nagging.


I am also a huge fan of "Boardwalk Empire". I can't believe that they aren't bringing it back for a final season. Anyways, Gillian was dreadful. Every time she was in a scene, I would just wince. I was really hoping for her to get "offed" every season.

The Smurfs, all of them. I hate it when I have to catch my food, Get in the pot!

Peggy Mitchell of eastenders, that women really gets on my goat!!!, any character played by thora hurd!, to be honest most british t.v gets on my goat!!, bloody stupid (un) reality shows every five minutes or talent shows....just thinking of them makes my brain hurt......AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!...lol!. I shall calm down now!.

You nailed it. Character or person, Nancy Grace is the most fingernails-on-chalkboard abrasive person to ever be broadcast. This is one "celebrity" I think a large number of people won't cry over when the shrew does croak.

I discussed her show with my husband once (who also can't stand her) and he about fell over when I said the best thing she could do for the world that would be of genuine use would be to shut her mouth, or have a certain appendage in it to muffle her voice.

I noticed some of you mentioned Nancy Grace. I agree that she is ultra-annoying. She truly is a "character". If she got together with Ross from 'Friends', they could have an "annoy-off" competition!
Maybe they could cancel each other out!

Don't think most people outside the UK and those below a certain age will be able remember him but Frank Spencer in Some Mothers Do Have 'Em really annoyed me. Even though I was only a child when the programme ran the man simply got me so angry. To this day I can't look at Michael Crawford without wanting to punch him very hard.

As said previously its a shame its limited to TV characters because I share the sentiments expressed about Jeremy Kyle.
He's an odious bully, just looking at him makes me so angry.

I can't stand CAM from that show. He irks me. I can't say exactly why ....

- any character Courtney Cox plays is annoying. UGH.
- any character Shannon Doherty is playing.
