Not all Masons are wicked, evil, and up to something. I have no doubt that just like ALL humans, there are a subset of Masons that are up to no good. Traditionally, the Masons have always done community service work. It could be that this idea was brought forth by an Optometrist who happens to be a Mason.

It sounds pretty benign if all it involved was a simple eye exam. A retinal scan would take too much time, effort, and money.

So true. Most lodges joke about 'riding the goat', at ours the Goat is a bit more interesting and honestly does not like to be ridden.

I'd be more concerned as a parent that an external (to your kids school) group came in and preformed what is essentially a medical procedure on your child without your active informed consent. For me that's the bigger issue, who it was almost pales. Almost. How did they get away with doing this and why aren't parents all up in the principles face about it?
Here the school must send notes home inviting you to participate first, every time and we are given 'permission to attend' slips even for outside speakers and non-school related visiting groups. If anyone had touched or tested my child at school in this way without my permission and notice prior, I'd seriously be fuming. If I want medical checks done I have my doctor.

No problem at.

I can see both sides of the issue after hearing from some of the Masons on here. Doing non-invasive services for the community I am ok with, anything more like taking DNA and fingerprints I would just have to say thanks, but no thanks.

I've had parents stop by our events and say this, and that's okay. I thanked them for their time and they went on their way.

As a Mason and Shriner, i find this kinda offensive. I am in no way a bad person. i lurk the same conspiracy forums as all of you guys do. I am just as interested in the stuff posted here as you are. Even i get a bit paranoid about certain topics from time to time... but come on...

i gotta say the leap you took towards your potential conclusion is REALLY out there...

as a Shriner, i drive go carts in parades all summer for small towns in my area in order to raise money for children who need prosthetic limbs. We charge their families NOTHING if they dont have health care, or cant afford it.

I'm only 27, but ive been doing this every year since i was 21.

FWIW I have been there when they do these eye exams since I am a teacher. Nothing malevolent is going on. They just look at the eyes like a basic eye exam. No scanning of anything. They do this once a year at my school and I have been there three years. It is a free service that helps a lot of our kids to get glasses. No conspiracy here!

Not worried about conspiracy here, as much as the disrespect and collective 'ok' to schools usurping parental rights.

It’s all part of the Mason’s diabolical plot to keep their TAX FREE status. Seriously Masonic lodges have to fund a charity to remain tax exempt, the eye foundations are a good charity, though I would be curious about not being told my children were examined without my knowledge.

..the first two tax-exempt foundations were carnegie and rockefeller, iirc?

had a good laugh few weeks back, talking to a local skeptic.. his eyes light up with a flash of inspiration when i mentioned the tax-exemption stuff.. he turned around and says "hmm, that actually makes sense, if you could set up your own charity and then just dump your money into it to keep the tax man at bay"

i always liked that saying; "it's only a scam if you're not in on it"

Except you have to file a tax return every year and if you are not adhering to the 501:C:3 statutes you can be fined and lose your tax exempt status.

I do love how little people really know about tax code and requirements groups must adhere to receive tax exemption. I wonder how much of this world's problems are based on people's ignorance, assumptions, and conjecture.

Most Masonic Lodges perform charitable work in their communities. Much like warmongering corporations might donate money to cure cancer or various other charitable organizations so they can say they do good work while destroying the world on the side.

I would love to know (I'm sure others do too) how Freemasons are destroying the world? I hope you can back it up with actual facts and not sites like Freemasonry watch.
