Prevent Blindness Oklahoma would provide the screening expertise; Grand Lodge would provide volunteers in communities throughout the state; and The Masonic Charity Foundation would provide the funding.
Currently 191 Lodges assist with screenings in their communities. The Oklahoma Masonic Charity Foundation has contributed over 3 MILLION dollars to fund the Partners in Prevention Program since its inception. Local lodges have also helped raise money to purchase a SPOT camera for their local screener’s use.
Our Children's Vision Screening program serves children in preschools, day care centers, Head Start Centers, public and private schools. Our new EZ as 1 2 3 program highlights screening with our new SPOT computerized photoscreening cameras to provide screening for 1-3 year olds in licensed day care facilities in Oklahoma
The CHIP programs allow parents the opportunity to create a kit of identifying materials for their child, free of charge. The kit contains a fingerprint card, a physical description, a video, computer disk, or DVD of the child, a dental imprint, and a DNA sample. The purpose of the kit is to provide critical information to the public and to law enforcement in the event that a child goes missing. The program has been lauded by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.[1]

So true. Most lodges joke about 'riding the goat', at ours the Goat is a bit more interesting and honestly does not like to be ridden.

One thing I don't understand is why they are even still doing these exams ...when every child in Oklahoma has SoonerCare if their parents aren't wealthy enough for private healthcare.
