Maybe they could just let us have customized themed smileys.
Plus how is it possible after all these years not to have a tin foil hat smiley or a grey alien smiley.

For me, nothing says "expressing one's post intention" like the old fashioned emoticons that actually move around and/or have more detailed pixelation.

Pardon my pedantry, but I feel like the world around me is getting dumbed down... one pixel at a time.

This guy was always my favorite...

I just mistakenly made a rant thread about these new emoticons. I can count the duplicate threads I have made over the years on one hand. Is there a face palm emoticon?

I did not like the old ones and it took a while to learn them. Now I have to learn more. One would think that emoticons would be an industry standard across the web by now. Or at the very least cryptic ones would have a text label.

I feel like I'm back on the Commodore 64.

Well, I like them just fine. I'm not really sure why people stress about having to "learn" new emoticons... don't their expressions kind of speak for themselves? Or maybe I've been using them incorrectly all these years?? I just pick an expression that looks like one I would make in real life to determine if it is applicable!

I do agree with what someone else said, it would be awesome to see a tin foil hat wearing emoticon.

This is one of the few sites I regularly visit, and it is the ONLY one that is frequently making improvements and changes. The rest always look the same. I really appreciate that about this site!
