The thick, vertical line that is only on the lower half, is a time marker. The almost non-stop tiny trembling that began in the past 30 minutes or so, is most likely due to morning vehicle traffic. This drum is very near 2 major highways.

Thank you so much! I hadn't seen the 'time marker' show up a thick as an earthquake line before.
So much yet to learn!

I'm watching it for that vertical line you mentioned.Have to wait for the drum to rotate back around in 10 or 15 to see what you're talking about, I guess.

From what I understand of it, the "fuzzy" lines currently being shown typically mean either miscalibration, or anthropogenic noise (i.e manmade stuff, traffic, heavy machinery, etc)

Edit: Oh, the time mark, lol, I thought you mean something else like some weird one-off spike or something, ha.

Here it comes; I don't think it's a time mark......

Yeah, I see that, I was just coming back to mention that. Odd looking for sure. It probably has a simple explanation like someone banged around in the room or something. Kinda lopsided either way, I'd expect it to be arced towards the top of the drum as well.

I think paranoia has set in; I'm really on edge every time Cali gets active. So many people! Too many disasters!

OMG!!!

Sorry; that's the first one I've ever seen in real time. Makes n=me wish I hadn't had that second cup of coffee. I'm really worried that these quakes might be fore shocks. Dang.

I don't remember exactly if they happen every 4 or 6 hours or 12 hours, but if you come back and look at the cam this evening there will be at least 1 more of those "bottom only" vertical lines. Or maybe calibration pulses...They happen every day.

Take a look at this post by muzzy link. You can see 2 of the "markers" (center of image, and a second centered, but lower).

Thank you, Olivine. I assume it takes the drum a set amount of time to make one revolution, and the thin vertical lines are time markers also?

30 minutes to make one revolution. Every minute the needle pops up and then back down, making the vertical lines.

For me the Quake cam runs for a short time then stops and I have to resume, is this happening for everyone else? This seems to be a recent change as it used to play until I stopped it.

If I have more than one tab open, and don't switch to view the quake cam tab every 15 or 20 minutes--it stops. It's not just you. Most inconvenient.

I hope this link works from Disclose TV- it shows buffalo herds fleeing Yellowstone.
www.disclose.tv... deo/170574/Yellowstone_Bison_Running_for_their_lives_Big_erruption_next/

Add: I just watch a massive, HUGE herd of elk fleeing Yellowstone - running as fast as they can across a highway in Bozeman!

Wow! Just watched the video of Bison running down the highway!

That is pretty creepy.

Is that footage definitely recent?

I wonder if they were just running from the EQ? Or if they're sensing something bigger to come?

From what I could find, it started 6 days ago, but the bison fleeing video was posted 5 hours ago.

The videos could have been taken years ago for all I know, but felt I should share.

ADD: Okay; found a little more. It looks like the videos are all pre-quake. I will be watching mass migrations very closely in the future!

perhaps Geonet got it wrong having it out at Blackhead!

yep looks like it was, if you look at the history down the bottom of the page it seems the SeisComp3 system had it pretty right on to start with at the 01:00 mark, -39.97, 176.56, then it changed on the 7th attempt, and even the humans went for the SE location until 20 hours afterwards when they changed it back to close to what the machine said.
www.geonet.org.nz...
upgraded to 5.39ML though

location makes sense, that is where all the aftershocks were.

Thank you nugget

And I now understand that this is just supposed to be migration.

But when I told my wife this, all she said was,.......

"but would they be running that fast though? And on the road?"

And I agree,it didn't look normal, and if this is just spring migration than I would think there are a bunch of similar videos taken during springs of old.....
