i understand the op and that the mark does not need to be permanent, but are you seriously saying that cellphones and google glass are a mark of the beast? why cant my headphones, hats, headbands, etc also be a mark of the beast?

Im saying that something related to WWW might be the mark of the Beast.

I think there are a lot of different aspects to the Revelations and other End Time prophecies that are supposed to be occurring in the time frame of 2012-2030 or so. There is the Mark of the Beast... and then there is an anti-Christ figure.

This website was made when Obama was a charismatic primary candidate, and it explains about the next anti-Christ, Mabus. It is interesting to note that the second anti-Christ was named Hister by Nostradamus - which was not only a play on Hitler's name, but the name of the river on which he grew up.

What I have noticed about anti-Christ figures is that they tend to make society in their own image. That is what Hitler and Napoleon did. According to Nostradamus, World War III will start when Mabus dies - not while he is alive.

This man is described in a prophecy indexed 10 Q72 (Century 10, Quatrain 72) as, The king of terror. He will enter the world stage, descending from distant future skies, In the year 1999 September month.

Nostradamus fashioned anagrams out of numbers too. If the month of “September” is a lead, then “1999″ could be a reverse code for the actual year, month and DAY:

1999 = 9111
Thus the prophecy means to say:

In the year 9.11.1 September month,
The great King of Terror comes from the Sky.

Nostradamus gave the Third Antichrist the following code name. He’s Mabus.

Nostramus and the AntiChrist

I always like to think of Mabus referring to the Bush and Obama Presidencies and setting up the Patriot Act, N.S.A. surveillance and drones - and with Obama, setting up a new belief system.

-----

Then there is the Prophecy of the Popes - or of Saint Malachy - this describes the current Pope, Peter the Roman, or St. Francis, here:

Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills [i.e. Rome] will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The End.[14]

Wikipedia: Prophecy of the Popes

Of course - the 7 years of Tribulation are supposed to start with a Peace Treaty in Israel. Halfway through the treaty, the anti-Christ will declare himself God and then be possessed by Satan or something similar, some saying after receiving a wound to the head. Of course, there is also supposed to be a rapture...

This is some good food for thought, s+f for you.

I guess the premise is assuming that the WWW is the mark of the beat but it still to me, wholly relies on peoples perceptions and to what extent they give it importance in their own realities. It seems to be a sphere, fully representing the whole Human psyche. Such vile, repugnant content and at the same time being met with such beautifully and highly positive content, with means to connect families, raise money, stories that go viral that become beneficial to a person, family, community etc, a wealth of information, education and learning.

Such vast content, on this surface web, it could just be another layer and act as a precursor to a transition into a new paradigm of how we experience reality, and that it doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing. It has become so vast that it seems to no matter what illicit and horrible intention someone or something may use it for, I would never assume such an array of users being so submissive to subversive plans. Of all things, I would be less prone to try and manipulate something like the internet. Although the devices used to interact with it may well be a good sign of how things are going and societies attitudes towards these objects should be of relative concern.

The internet seems to be a different animal entirely, but the devices used to access it seem to be the problem and this is where the problems already lie. The manipulation of these would seem to be more of a concern if someone wanted to cause harm, on any level. Through coercion and subtle extensions, trickling down till usage is completely dictated to how, when and through what, is what should ring alarm bells.

WWW doesn't inherently seem to be the mark of the beast but the apparatus used to how we experience could well be.

Or perhaps we are all wrong.

I am at least convinced enough that Skyfloating is right about the Mark of the Beast to consider it. If you look at the historical context, the internet, especially with smart phones (which mean that people are constantly networked with each other) and Google Glass (same) is a major change in how people and society think and function. The main change centers around networking.

There is a TON of psychological evidence and even historical evidence in the past 10 years that the internet changes WHO people are.

And behaviorally, they change towards self-centered people who revolt against religion and also think of how similar the Internet is to the Apple mentioned in the Bible (hmm... that is actually kind of freaky that there is a coincidence between that name and the company name).

Putting all that aside - it also makes the prophecy make TONS more sense and while still being quite damning...

Think about this - it is basically saying that the Internet is going to come along and change how people act into these hostile, self-centered Atheists (I am simply being descriptive).

Okay. I have to put another descriptive paragraph here. Since people are naturally social animals, the access to information provided by the www combined with the rejection of religion is not going to result in self-centered people - it could result in cliques of people that become extremely specific and hostile towards other cliques. But when someone meets the requirements for one clique, and then it disbands, it could change social dynamics.

Take a look at how online dating functions in a lot of cases. The variety of people offered can cause someone to hop around from person to person instead of focusing on building up a relationship with one person, which is a social change.

There is a lot of New Age literature I could quote in order to show what I mean - about how the new morals are about developing the Self, and releasing yourself from others.

So next, the the prophecy is saying that another generation of people will come along who don't like the Internet (which is consistent with Strauss Howe Generational Theory).

Humans are social animals that are not meant to be individualist, hostile Atheists - it has nothing to do with religion, but think about this - how come religion works in human society? Who cares whether it is correct or not

And then there will be a gigantic war and humans will ultimately reject Technology on the Scale it was before.

This is consistent with later prophecies by Nostradamus spanning the next 1,000 + years that show us having returned to more of a chaotic society without tech - including Gladiator battles near the year 3,000 and such.

It is also consistent with John Tutor's prophecy regarding how the Internet in the year 2030 was not a drug like it is today, but more of a tool.

Where do we go when we want the answer to a question? Google?

Where do we go when we want to buy something? Amazon? Ebay?

To sell something? Craig's List? Ebay?

When we do our banking?

Buy/sell stocks?

Entertain ourselves?

Spend more time on than anything else?

Yup. OP is right. Smart-phones and electronic money may just be the Beast of the Bible.

Exelent post, flag and star mate!

I believe that the whole point resides in Satan luring Eve with "knowledge". And that the devil always tries to trick people into thinking is the better solucion/answer...the easy road right?
As some have said in this thread, how many people take the tough road, the hard one , when an easier , more simple solution is at hand?
If you would have to walk 10 blocks to the book store, would you go ? When you could instead order it online and get it droped on your door 2 hours later?
I am not saying, by any means that progress or knowledge is wrong. The only thing im saying is , that is the entrance, the doorway for the anti-christ/satan/etc to go beyond that any time soon, and ask a bit more of you , for what before it was just comodity, and now it transformed into need.

The mark will be onthe forehead or on the right hand. Mouse, handheld, google glasses, virtual reality helms(Oculus rift for example). What the OP is saying as i understand it is this. We "show you" what the world could be like , instant access to information, no need to wait for anything, dont even need to get off the chair..and then , when you all changed your perspective, when you stop seeing this as an advantage, a commodity, and start feeling it as a "need", then the contract is complete. We could ask anything of you , and you will give it to us, willingly , entirely without incidents (notice the "Equilibrium" quote
) because you cant leave without it.

Now i know that when that happens , there will be a lot of people saying "ok , no, i wont, take away whatever you want , i dont need it"...but how many people will agree just to stay in the Status Quo?
That is , imo, where the OP wanted to guide his thread to, i hope i got it right

Cheers!

Yup, you got it right.

The Internet, in combination with Cam surveillance, military robotics (which Google bought up), NSA, etc....these are ominous prospects.

I really don't understand why people still take the bible as written fact? I believe in god but I honestly don't think Christians have it right and with so many other beliefs and religions what makes you so sure everyone else is wrong.

The universe is huge and man is one species on a tiny rock and imo if you believe the bible to be literal then you think earth is the only place with life and that we live forever as long as we are good. I could be wrong because I do not know everything but it just seems weird that people take the bible so literally when its filled with some very questionable morals and very contradictive. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Everyone seems to be plugged in, worshiping the www these days. If only people looked up from their smartphones once in a while, or went outside to feel the air, smell the leaves and see the children play instead of spend their entire lives in front of the screen.

Yup, but is hard.I understand most people think they "dont have time" for such things. But i always tell them, if you dont have 1 hour for yourself or 10 minutes for someone that needs you, then you are doing something wrong. And is hard to believe how some people think you are an idiot for thinking that way.
Man i really DONT want to quote Supernatural
but...

Some guy told Sam winchester -Dude, you drink demons blood, how dont you know that is wrong?- And the guy just answered that it helped him save lives.
What i mean here is , that for almost everybody, the end justify the means. If you hate your boss, is your boss fault.
If your wife pissed you off, is her fault for not being supportive, etc, etc.
Problems are ALWAYS inside of ourselves. The world aint against us, is us that are against the world. And since that is the common feeling, is really easy to tempt anyone of anything, providing you know what their weakness is.

My phone number is 666-#### and the looks I get when asked my number, oh boy! When ordering pizza there's usually a silence after I give my # to them. Haha! My service provider asked if I would have a problem with it and offered another number instead but I choose to keep it. It's only a number after all and I don't mind the shock value

S&F nice read thanks

Somewhat related...

Just read that we are going to have a blood moon tetrad (lunar eclipse where moon appears red like blood). The blood moon will appear 4 times in the next year and a half.

"The sun will be turned into darkness And the moon into blood Before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes." Joel 2:31 NASB

The first blood moon is this Tuesday, April 15, which also lands on the Jewish Feast of Passover.

Google also just announced that for one day only--APRIL 15, 2014--- Google Glass will be available for the public to purchase.

Coincidence?

I'll even go a bit further with this truth, and say the word google actually contains forever 666 or vice versa!

Upside down lowercase g's or are hand written in english as 6's right, so 2x g=6 and 6, two oo's together is the infinity sign ∞ (forever), and the amount difference between the letters L and E is 6.

Also Google chrome's new logo clearly has 666 within it.

Also the buy and sell configuration being implemented right now is Bitcoin.

Some people think what you say is B.S., I say I know your right and personally believe the rapture will be within 5 to 20 years.

Take Jesus into your heart now - you have nothing to lose. God wants you back and loves you! Don't risk your eternal life over others fear, ignorance and prejudice.
You need not worry about this stuffed world, only worry that your heart is given to god so your their for the next one!

See you their!

I see this as being pretty spot on for our place in time.
As technology evovles it is easy to imagine that in the near
future we could be wired into the net with a very nano
non intrusive interface upon our hand or forehead.

The nano interface will assign a unique identifier,
like our own personal IP address.

Bingo.

I don't think the internet changes who people are at all. It simply removes boundaries, and up until recent legislations and prosecutions under existing laws, it had no real consequences for bad behaviour. They are more free to be their true selves. But I guess that in itself is just human nature, people trying to see how far they can go, and others drawing up boundaries for whatever reason.

All this "mark of the beast" nonsense is self-fulfilling prophecy anyway, as is all biblical prophecy by design. If you believe in all the negative rubbish, then it will eventually come true. Too many people have the ego, and the means to try and force it to happen. They want to think they are part of something grand.

The internet is no worse than a book. Books have existed for millennia, people become attached to and absorbed in them. I don't see the real difference. Besides, the internet is generally more interactive, at least people are engaging rather than just reading someones thoughts. But I guess THAT is what the biblical god would have a problem with, people coming together, educating each other, and building a better world that does not need him. Like Babel.

Also, Red Bull. Isn't that supposed to be some sign? See, its everywhere. People use it to tap into the subconscious, its clever marketing. Apple is another blatant example, with the bite.

In the UK the National Lottery logo clearly has 666 encoded within it.
